Opposites attract

Perslen and Artemis have always been best friends. They were inseparable.

Despite them being extremely different they were best friends none the less.

However, during a detective mission, they were assigned to,

Their world turns upside down.

2. Chapter two: The Cat Café

Artemis and Perslen stepped into the café.

Scratching posts were present all around the room.

The shop was filled with a bunch of people laughing while holding cats.

This café was one of Perslen and Artemis's favorite places.

Not just because of all the cute cats

(although that was a big part of it)

but because of one very special person.

Perslen and Artemis approached one of the ladies working at the counter.

"Excuse me can we see Olivia?"

Perslen asked.

"I'm sorry but she's a little busy right now."

The lady said not even looking up at Artemis and Perslen.

"Tell her it's perslen and  Artemis who want to see her."

Perslen said.

"Sorry bu-"

Before the lady could finish she was interrupted.

"Oh. my. stars! Is that Artemis and Perslen!"

Olivia said running up to the two.

Olivia was wearing one of her iconic cheesy cat sweaters.

That read: '𝚂𝚝𝚘𝚙 𝚂𝚝𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙼𝚎𝚘𝚠𝚝'

Her brown hair was in a loose braid.

"Lydia take note from now on that these two are always welcome to talk to me."

Olivia said to the girl at the counter.

The girl nodded her head as she went off to help another customer.

"Sorry about that. Anyways how have you guys been! I haven't seen you for at least three weeks. You both usually come here every Friday what happened?"

"Yeah sorry about that we got caught up."

Artemis answered.

"It's fine you guys, I'm just happy you two are back."

Olivia hugged Artemis and Perslen. Perslen and Artemis returned the hug.

"how about you both take a seat. I'll join you in a minute." Olivia said walking back into the employee-only area.

Perslen and Artemis chose a spot and sat down.

Artemis took out the files and started reading the leads they had.

Meanwhile, Perslen began playing with the cats.

Artemis let out a loud sigh.

Perslen turned around to look at Artemis.

"You ok?"

Perslen asked.

"No, apparently this case involves two of the most wanted criminals in the city...

River Argus and Hunter Argus."

"W-what?! We're not cut out for that?!"

"I KNOW!!"

Artemis gripped at the paper.

"You sure he didn't give us the wrong one?" Artemis asked.

" I can check," Perslen said whipping out her phone. She dialed Johnson's number and walked outside for privacy.

Artemis tried to calm herself down.

A large crash was heard.

Artemis whipped her head around to see what happened.

A man was on the ground and a bunch of coffee was spilled all over the floor. He kept rubbing his head because he had accidentally run into a wall because he's a dumb ass.

Artemis hesitantly approached him. She offered a hand for the man to take.

The man looked up at her. They held eye contact for a little while.

His eyes were a bright crystal green. His skin was a beautiful shade of brown.

They held eye contact until he blinked a few times before shaking his head.

"Ah, yeah...sorry." He said finally excepting Artemis's hand to help lift him up.

The man sighed before grabbing a mop to try and clean up the mess.

"U-whats you're name?" Artemis asked.

The man smirked.

"Names Dylan."

"Oh-mines Artemis."

"Nice name haven't heard a name like that in a while." The man smirked once again.

After that, he walked away to attend to something else.

"Hey, Artemis! Where did Perslen go?" Olivia asked.

"Oh, uhm she went outside to talk to somebody. Uhm who is that?-

Artemis pointed to Dylan.

-haven't seen him around before. Is it new?"

Olivia nodded.

"He and his friend are the newest employees at the moment. Why do you ask?"

"N-no reason."
