Blank Out

[NaNoWriMo 2018 Draft]

"A lot of people spend their lives wishing they could forget all the bad things they did, but when you have no choice but to forget, it's a different story."

Leona Larken has anterograde amnesia. Every single day from the moment of the accident she was in, she will forget any new memory which tries to sit in her head. With a 10-minute memory, you view life differently and Leona has had to adapt to her new life as best she can. College life is hard, making friends is hard, learning anything new is hard; but she tries her best to stick to a routine which can get her through the day.

Then she meets a boy, who claims to be her half-brother. Her past memories, up to the age of 16, are intact but she doesn't know anything about him. And what does it matter if she'll forget she met him in the next 10 minutes anyway?

Author's note

Quick note to say this was written during NaNoWriMo 2018 so it's not going to be completely perfect sounding or a seamless plot. I hope to edit it and work on it in the future but this is the first draft so far (it's currently not got a complete ending yet but I'll hopefully get to that.)
The author has rated this movella as yellow, meaning it is inappropriate for users under the age of 13.
