Revolution in Another World

When I have opened my eyes in this world, as much as I had been fascinated by the fantasy of this land, I was also disturbed by the law of this world as well. In this world, slavery still exists and so was the status-oriented society. No matter how hard you try, there was no such thing as climbing in the ranks of society. The low class were treated as if they were an animal and the high class acted as if they were monarchs. What could I do to change this world? that was how my journey had begun.

5. Fourth Chapter - Decoding the Mechanics

Revolution in Another World

Decoding the Mechanics

"It costed me about five bronze and nine stone coins to buy the groceries this week," I checked the grocery list to make sure that I wasn't missing out on anything.

It had already been a month since our meeting and we had been working for days to decode the meaning behind the symbols of the magic circles. Mr. Rustial had already decoded at least seventy percent of the symbols, but he was lacking in human resources before I became his apprentice. Because of his age, he had estimated that it would take him more than five years to finish the work, but with my help, we could finish it in two years. However, studying about these symbols brought me some questions.

"Who else might know about this?" I remembered my conversation with Mr. Rustial.

"If there was anyone who would know about this, then it would be the relatives of the royal family and the sect," Mr. Rustial wrote experimented with the symbols.

"Is it to ensure their sovereignty?" I had been writing down the meaning of the symbol.

"Most likely," Mr. Rustial confirmed.

How could the royalties retain their position for a long period of time? It wasn't as if the black status cards were only limited to the nobles. If you were to think of it, who would be more likely to be chosen with the black card? The nobles who stay in their castle or the adventurers who have to risk their lives to subjugate various monsters and venture through unknown dungeons? It wasn't as if the current king had been a trustworthy person. He had been the one to approve harsh regulations on the slaves.

As of right now, the type of magic that are being taught in the magic academies are the elemental magics. In this world, elemental magic are one of the most important studies as it acts as a replacement for many of the modern day equipment. For instance, the temperature of the house are kept under control with the use of fire stones and the water supply system depends on the use of water stones. If you were to think about it...doesn't this world share many common features with our world? Other than the absurd laws, old traditions, and fantasy, it was as if I was in a parallel universe where magic became necessity in our lives instead of science.

The fact that magic replaced science changed the course of event in this world. Imagine if the "error" didn't exist and humans were living in their ordinary lives? Would the vile rulings of this kingdom still live up to today? What can I do to change this world? There must be a meaning to my arrival in this world...

Or else, what am I to here? What should I do here? I was a complete outsider in here and I probably wouldn't be able to reunite with my family ever again. Maybe in the future, it might be different. But as of right now, there was nothing other than figuring the secrets of the magic. It was the only thing in this world that I wished to continue, but the heaven wasn't lenient on us.
