We reached his mom's place in time. Since I didn't like or attend any parties I didn't know how to feel. My heart raced uncontrollably and my head felt like it was going to explode. Tugging at my dress I watched Andrew ringing the door bell. "You'll be okay." He put his hand waist and pulled me close to him. Feeling his grib around me made me feel safe. The door opened with a fast swing. My dad looked at me. "What are you doing here?" My words came out wrong. It swung with a small tone of disgust. "Come in. We'll tell you." Together with Andrew I stepped over the threshold. My legs felt like pudding.

The whole party through I tried to control my puffy dress in order to not annoy anyone. I excused myself and walked outside to the terrace. On each side of the edges connected to the lawn stood big dark flowerpots. With a big sigh I sat down in a white chair that seemed large enough to fit the dress on it, lit a cigarette and stared out into the night. "Why are you out here alone." Andrew’s cousin sat down on the other side of the table between the two chairs. "I'm not a big fan of crowds." With a shrug I turned back to the stars. "Can I ask you a simple question?" Suddenly my stomach twisted. "Yes.." I mumbled and closed my eyes. Breathing in deep and breathing out didn't do anything. "Are you Andrew's girlfriend? I don't mean to interfere into your relationship or so but I need to know." "You'll find out."

I promised to keep it a secret. Andrew wanted to wait to tell everyone. He planned to do it tonight. But I didn't want to ruin it. After finishing my cigarette I stepped back in to see everyone staring at me. I felt my cheeks heating up instantly. "Uhm.." My voice cracked as soon as I tried to speak. Andrew grabbed my hand and pulled me close softly. "Well, what we were going to tell you is, that me and Olivia are in a relationship." His mother took a gasp. "No..why.." She sat down putting a hand on her forehead. "I knew letting you two meet up was a mistake." This sentence made me realize something. "Wait, you planned on us meeting? If you wanted us to meet and now you're dissatisfied with us being in a relationship?" I sat down with shaking hands. Tears filled my eyes. "It's not like we're not happy for you. It's just.." Andrew interrupted his mother with a loud "what!" "You two are siblings." My heart shattered. My tongue suddenly felt too dry and my brain couldn't work it out. "How?" I asked in a shaking voice. "How did it happen?" People made their way out of the house.

When it got quieter we sat in the living room with a glass of wine and talked. "Your father and I met in Chicago. We really fell in love with each other. But..." With a sip of her wine she continued. "But what?" Nervously I bit my bottom lip. "I had an affair several days after we got into a relationship with each other. I don't know what I was thinking." My head desperatly tired to put the puzzle pieces together. "Who was the woman I grew up with? Who is the woman that died?" "That was my wife." It was too much to take. The man with the messy brown hair and green eyes standing in front of me wasn't my father. The mother of my boyfriend was my mother as well. "What was my name when I was born?" I asked. "What do you mean?" Andrew's mother asked. "Did you name me?" My eyes filled up with tears. Slowly she nodded. "Yes, but-" "I guess Olivia wasn't the name you used for me. Am I right?" With a sob she nodded again. "What is my name?" My whole body started shaking. Andrew put his arm around me. "Clohe." She started crying harder. So did I. But instead of staying I grabbed my things and hurried out of the door. With weak legs I walked down the street. "Olivia, wait, please." Andrew followed me for some minutes when I stopped. "They lied to me! I thought until now that my mom was my mom and so on. None of my cousins or grandparents were mine! No one was ever related to me." I sat down on the cold pavement. "Stop crying. I can't see you like this." But I couldn't no matter how hard I tried. When I hid my face in my hands he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer. I felt him sobbing. "I'm so sorry." He kissed my head. "I didn't know that's what they wanted to tell us." He helped me up slowly. "Let's get home." My heart felt heavy. I literally could feel it breaking. With slurring feet I walked to the car.

Whilst driving off I looked back at the house, seeing my biological mother and the stranger hug. I closed my eyes and feel into a light sleep.
