In Spite of Everything

Sometimes you just gotta eat the blood of others in order to get the nutrients you need to survive. But to drink blood, you need to do it correctly, and there are rules to follow too!

This book follows two entirely different types of vampires, and how they must feed and stay hidden in order to save their eternal soul. They explore the streets of London through new eyes as well as old while trying to maintain a human-like personality and not casually jump throats because someone is being a little annoying and too cheery that day.

The book covers subjects such as; LGBT, allergies, acceptance, and a whole bunch of ignorance and anger towards all of those who do not understand the vampire's way.

The first time I tried A- blood my stomach made sure to tell me that I was unable to stomach it. Quite literally and ironic, my family did not understand why I kept puking blood, they had never had any problems with A-, but I did.

After I was done vomiting all of this crap blood out, we sat down by the dinner table - which we didn’t actually have any use for.

“Sweetie,” my mother began, placing a hand on mine, her skin was rough, calloused and not what you usually would consider a vampire hand, but more importantly, it was my mother’s hand.

“Do you have a blood... Aversion?” her gaze shifting, worried.

A part of me knew she was asking whether or not I was having problems with an eating disorder, but as my eyes widened and got harsh, my whole family knew that it was not the case.

“No, Mother! How could you think of such a thing?! “ I got up so fast my chair tilted over with a rattle and we all just stared at each other for a long while.

“I didn’t mean to assume anything my child, but none of us has ever had any issues with the blood.” she tried to save herself, but it was too late. I was judged - or so I felt like.

Then I stormed off and did not return for another 5 or 10 years. Somewhere in the middle, I lost count, and so did they.
