The Legacy

Edmund is known as any other orphan in the country known as Macnes, the leading country in their world. I note that some things might be very confusing, but bear with me.

5. Battle

As I woke up that morning, I knew something was going to go horribly wrong.

It has been about two weeks since I started to get used to this routine.

I watched from my bed as an owl dropped off my paper homework for today and then dispersed to where it originally came from.

As I looked at my homework, I watched as a letter soared through the window, placing itself into my open hands.

Use the ring to conjure any weapon you want, just think about it.

I then looked at the ring and turned the paper around, just in case if they wrote something else on the back, and they did.

Battle happening at noon by Hamilton Castle. Enemies are dangerous. Be aware.

I quickly looked at the time and noticed that it was time for Physical Education.

I quickly put on the ring and thought sword, since I knew that sword lessons were always first. A sword with blue glowing marks that looked like fire dancing around on it.

I recovered from my shock as I opened the door and Brad’s sword crashed down on top of mine.

I looked down towards the handle and up to Brad’s face.

”Where is Carl?” I questioned and Brad slightly moved his head towards where Charlotte and he were usually sitting.

I watched as Carl shook his head towards my new opponent, Brad, and I quickly side-stepped a slice to the chest.

I then sliced his wrist a bit, and he didn't take it lightly.

I then copied over and over these moves: slice, jab, block, side-step, and duck.

It was going on like this until I finally tripped him, causing him to fall on his back.

I quickly swiped my blade quickly to scare him and pointed it at his neck.

Then I heard a loud boom come from outside and quickly ran through the door, knowing what was going on.

Once I stepped outside, I saw monster after monster aligned to look as if they were an army.

I pulled out a bow and with that gesture, the battle began.

A/N: There will be some different POV’s, but not many. Back to the story.

Brad’s POV

I watched as Edmund suddenly raced out of the room and towards outside the castle.

I raced after him with my wife and Carl following us.

When we got there though...

It was horrifying.

We etched as Edmund quickly took out a bow and a throwing dagger.

He threw some of the daggers towards the monsters and quickly took out many arrows, shooting about what looked like five at a time.

Then he suddenly swiped his hand towards his belt, where he had put a sword there, and he quickly took out another one from thin air.

He kept on slicing and dicing like the master chef Ollie in our kitchen, and a sudden thought about introducing those two when Charlotte charged forward with an ax and Carl with some arrows and a bow.

I watched as Edmund made his way into the monsters, only being able to know where he was by the falling monsters that fell each time he sliced one and diced the other.

It continued like this until the whole entire courtyard was covered in dust that the monsters left behind.

I watched as Edmund slowly walked over to me, saying, ”Why didn't you help?” It kind of sounded like he was a demon. I must be hallucinating.

Edmund’s POV

I felt myself a little down and angry at Brad when I suddenly said, ”Why didn't you help?”

I couldn't stand it anymore and went to my room, taking a shower and changing into some clothes that weren't cut or had blood on them.

I went to my desk and looked at my History assignment.

It was to read about out gods and so on.

Our world believes in two gods.

Those two gods are known as the Israelites God from the human world and a goddess known as Katniss.

No one knows why she was named that, it just made sense to everyone.

Katniss is known to be able to take down countries single-handedly.

It is believed that she had an affair with Arthur Wardell, a guy who used to go against the king of our country and set our country out of their rule and find the true ruler, using a stone called the Century Stone, which is now lost to the world.

Arthur Wardell was a leader of a rebellion group called The Argonauts. He was known to be a man of his word, who later died because of a siege on his fort, and he sadly had no one to take over his place. The Argonauts then departed and went to work. They are believed to be hidden well.

If you see a tornado mark on a letter or in an item, it is from these people.

I watched as the book disappeared into thin air and continued to do the worksheet on it.

I was finally done with my homework and was reading a book when I heard a knock on the door and Ruby yelling that it was time for supper.

I ran down the stairs, hungry and still fuming about Brad not helping me.

I sat down by Charlotte who apologized for not having lunch made, and replied by saying I was perfectly fine with it.

I sat back down as I ate some of the pineapples that were laying in my plate as Brad said, ”I am sorry I didn't help. I was mesmerized by the way you were battling and killing those monsters in ways I couldn't even achieve when I was your age and-”

I slammed my chair into the wall as I got up and walked away up the stairs and into my room, slamming the door behind me and bunching an armor dummy in the corner of my room, making it fall off its stand.

I got changed into my night clothes and slipped under my blanket, and letting darkness slowly take me under its wing.
