War, a Presence of Mind

1. The Great Lie

Like a harden veteran, i gaze upon the field for the prospect of war

All but to find not a speck of blood nore gore

Here I came for a fitting place to die

Upon the field with grass knee high.

Alas here alone I lie… in Silence

Mind racing with visceral fear.

Fear of the possible enemy lurking near

I scream and shout

For any opponent to come out

but yet again im only met with silence

Maybe im truly alone,

either that or the enemy has not yet made himself known.

Fear more so I do than the thoughts of bullets and pain

Is the fear that i'm going it alone in the depths of my brain

Which one proves more brave?

Fighting unto the grave.

Or living a life outside of war

sans amour
