5. "I owe her this much"

The plane finally lands and Selena and I are the last ones to leave. With our duffle bags in our grasp we walk out of the plane with identical, expensive sunglasses on. From the outside, everything about Selena and I are identical except our clothes. I have a black skirt and a white tank top on paired with a pastel purple cardigan, and Selena has a pair of knee-long jean shorts and a blue tank top on. Being identical is annoying sometimes but it's fun to see people's reaction and pretending to be each other.

We are instantly blinded and deafened by flashes from cameras and screams and cheers from fans. Some of them are Selena’s fans and some of them are One Direction fans. They are probably still hyped as the One Direction boys have just exited the plane as well, some of the fans trailing behind them the best they can.

Security come as Selena and I walk towards the exit of the airport, two of the men carrying our suitcases with them. The paparazzi’s are yelling questions at us. Some of them are like,

“Selena is it true you have a sister?”

“Selena! Selena look over here!”

“Is it true you’re pregnant? Is Justin the father?” Are they even still together?

“Are you together with Harry Styles from One Direction?”

And one of my favorites, “Why are there two of you?” It's the question we hear the most and I can hear Selena laugh a little rom beside me.

“What?” I ask her as we’re escorted to the car waiting for us by the curb.

“It's the questions. They just get more and more unrealistic by the minute. Do I look pregnant to you?” She asks, giggling. I see something flash in her eyes, but it’s gone as quick and it gets there. I giggle a little, too, but I’m still thinking about the unknown flash of emotion in her eyes. I think it was hurt, or maybe it’s anger. Who would she be angry with? Me? Herself? I'm sure it's the paparazzi, I mean, I would be angry too if someone calls me pregnant when I’m not.

We walk to the car in silence except for the sound of wheels running on the asphalt.

“So what are we doing today?” I ask. It was only 2 pm.

"I don't really know. What do you want to do?" Selena asks looking at me, smiling.

"I was thinking about going to the mall. You wanna come?" I ask. We reach the car and Selena’s driver was ready to put our luggage into the trunk as Selena and I sit in the car.

"No thanks Becca. I'm tired and I thought of going to sleep. But have a nice shopping trip," she says. I shrug. Whatever. When it's just me shopping all by myself. When we drive near a mall I ask the driver to stop the car. He does as I ask and I’m about the exit the car, when Selena plants a golden credit card in my lap. I begin to protest but Selena sends me a sharp look that leaves nothing up for discussion. I sigh, defeated and says a quick goodbye before closing the car behind me. I look at the card in my hand and see a sticky note on the other side with a code if needed and the address to her house. I quickly pull my wallet out of my duffle bag and place the card and note securely in its proper place. I turn around to the big mall in front of me. I take a deep breath, put in my sunglasses just in case before quickly making my way inside the building. Just in case someone actually recognize me and think I'm Selena Gomez I have learned her autograph.

The mall is bigger on the inside than I had anticipated. I really didn’t think it through when I decided to go shopping all by myself in a new place at half past 2 pm on a Saturday. It’s buzzing with people rushing to do their errands or simply enjoying themselves with their friends, boyfriends and girlfriends, or their family.

Somehow, I managed to get through a few hours of shopping without getting noticed, and I was actually enjoying myself. That’s until I notice a group of five girls all around the age of fifteen to sixteen walking my way. On their shirts are a picture of a smiling Selena Gomez. They stop in front of me, successfully stopping me from moving any further.

"Are you Selena Gomez?" One of the girls asks. They all look so cute I can’t resist so I nod my head and take off my sunglasses, remembering to use the hand with the tattoo as little as possible. The girls squeal then they see it’s me, or rather Selena.

"Can we get an autograph and a picture?" The same girl asks.

"Of course sweetie!" I answer, being sure to sound like Selena by use her accent and her way to talk, which is a bit different from mine. I take a picture with each of the girls, and I sign each of their t-shits. I’m really satisfied when all the autographs look the same as Selena taught me. It's nice to make little girls happy, even if it’s based off of a lie. I wave a little to the girl as they turn to walk away, squealing and giggling amongst themselves.

"You're really good at this," a very familiar voice says from behind me. I put on my sunglasses and turn around.

"Good at what?" I ask him cluelessly, still pretending to be Selena.

"Pretending to be Selena. You could be a great actress you know," Louis says as if it’s obvious. How does he even know it’s me?

"How did you find out?" I ask, giving in. Earlier today he couldn’t even see the difference between Selena and I up close and beside each other, and now he can see it from a distance when it’s just one of us?

"The tattoo. I saw it when you were signing those autographs. I saw it on the plane, too," he answers, getting that unreadable looked in his eyes. He is smarter than I thought.

"Why didn't you tell them it wasn't me? Why didn't you say it to me on the plane?" I ask, genuinely confused and admittingly a little hurt, too. Why didn't he just blow my cover? Why did he make me feel like an idiot on the entire plane ride?

"Honestly if I hadn’t see the tattoo I would one hundred percent have thought you were Selena, and I have been best friends with her for 2 years," Louis says. ‘Wow’ is the only thing coming to mind. By now I was talking in my normal voice.

"Have a nice day Tommo," I say and walk out of the mall, dragging all my shopping bags with me.

Apparently when I met Louis in the mall yesterday we were spotted by the paparazzi. They think I'm Selena since they also got pictures of when I signed those girls’ shirts. The worst part is that they think Selena and Louis are a "thing" now. It's so bad because I know Selena is in love with someone else… Anyway, I’m in my room on my new computer when Selena comes in and sits on the bed beside me.

"You saw it too, didn't you?" She asks, looking at the tv that’s on but not being watched. I nod and she sighs. "

What are we gonna do about it?" I ask. I have my computer on my lap with the article on.

"Selena Gomez or the other Gomez?

Yesterday, one of the supposed “Gomez twins” was seen in the mall with One Direction heartthrob, Louis Tomlinson. She was spotted signing autographs for fan girls with Selena Gomez shirts on so it has to be Selena Gomez, right? She was spotted talking to Tomlinson and they seemed to be flirting! Are they a thing now? Is it really Selena or is it just a game coming from their side?"

A game? Like seriously?! We can't go alone anywhere without getting mixed up! I groan after reading the article once again. Maybe we should do something so people can see the difference? Maybe I could do something with my hair, I always wanted short hair, much like Selena had back in 2009.

"Selena, I have an idea," I say after a long silence. She looks at me expectantly. "I’ll do something with my hair and we sort out all this mess with the press. What do you say to that?" I ask her as a grin slowly forms on my face at my idea. On the inside, however, I get an uneasy feeling in my stomach. She grins back and jumps up from the bed.

"That's a brilliant idea! What are you going to do with your hair then?" She asks looking at me with her big brown eyes.

"Well I’ve always wanted it shorter so I was thinking about getting it like you have had it before, you know the short straight hair?" I say and she nod, smiling.

"That is going to look so good on you!" She says, giggling. I giggle too knowing what she means. We’re identical twins, it will look the same on me as it does on her.

3 hours later I have new hair and it looks just like I want it. Now the only thing we have to do is sort out all this mess with the press. I haven't really thought much of it. All the hate I will get, my already low self-esteem will surely crack with the impact but I have to do this for Selena, I owe her this much. She was so nice and happy when she meet me and I just feel like I need to something to make all this a little easier for her.

We have agreed to do it tomorrow so for now we’re watching a movie in the home cinema. It so amazing, it's like a real cinema with a huge screen on one wall and chairs and sofas in front of it. It even has a popcorn machine and all the candy you could ever want! None of us take anything of it, though. I know why Idon’t but it’s a long time since I have actually seen Selena eat anything.

The cinema is just as amazing as my room. When I came home from the mall yesterday I was so amazed by the size of her house and how it looks on the inside. It's like a freaking palace! I was even more amazed when I saw my room. Apparently, Selena has got it made for me before I even decided to come and live with her. She had asked me what I wanted my dream room to look like, I didn't think much of it so I told her. If I had known she would do something like this I would have never said anything.

It looks exactly like I’ve always wanted my room to look like. Two of the walls are a pastel purple and the other two are white. The floor is a white carpet floor. I have a queen sized bed that’s in the middle of the room up against the wall. I have two dressers in the left corner and a desk beside the door with another laptop. There are two other doors on the right of the room, which I later found out are a private bathroom and huge walk-in closet.

Half way through the movie I fall into the first deep, dreamless sleep I’ve had in a very long time.
