1. Another Life in the Day of Different Reality.

I woke up and stretch sitting up and climbing out of bed. I changed into my usual outfit for school, a nice light tan blouse with a brown skirt and I started to walk out the door and then I realized that I almost forgot something, I stepped in and grabbed a pair of white socks and some black boots. I stepped into the restroom and brushed my hair, my hair which was short and brown and my eyes were a red-orange or something like that anyways. I finished brushing my hair and gazed at my reflection. I will never get used to being able to see my ears. I brushed out my tail and then walked downstairs.

I walked into the kitchen and made myself some scrambled eggs with cheese and grabbed a couple donuts and put that on a plate. Then I poured myself a cup of orange juice and ate my breakfast. After that, I grabbed my side bag that was black and put it over my shoulder after putting my computer in it along with my phone in the side compartment and headed out the door. I walked the mile to get to school from my house which was east of the city about a mile or so and out of range of it. I walked through the woods which were normally safe and had no mines because of the ongoing war between our countries but no, there were mines and I heard a click and dashed up onto a tree and dodged the explosion.

“That was close,” I spoke to myself softly. I decided at that moment that taking the path wasn’t the safest route so I jumped from tree branch to tree branch almost slipping one time. After I got to the point of the city I jumped down onto the sidewalk where it was safe and walked the rest of the way to school. I walked through the front door and walked into my first class, honors biology 1, I’m a freshman. I sat down in the middle row closest to the windows that were the full length of the wall, and opened a book and started reading. After a while people started to come in and I was just sitting there waiting for the class to begin, the sooner they start catching up is as soon as I stop working ahead in that class. So everyone sat down and there were two guys who sat near me, the one in front of me was Theo, the one behind me was Emit. The seat next to me was empty which meant that my friend was going to be late, again.

As if on cue she walked in about 10 minutes into the teacher talking in a short skirt and a tank with a darkly colored lipstick her golden blond hair in a wavy tame that was as long as her back and her sunglasses sitting on top of her head, yes, this was my friend.

“Sorry, I’m late Mr. Robinson.” She said not as apologetically as she should’ve sounded but then again, she wasn’t. “I was busy taking out my dog and walking here took forever.”

“That’s fine Caroline, just sit down please.” Mr. Robinson sighed, this was the fourth time in four days since school started, she was always late though.

“Okay.” She walked over and sat down in the seat next to me and whispered, “Hello my friend!”

“Hey Caroline, nice to see you at your usual time,” I whispered back.

“Yeah, you cued me again didn’t you.” She wondered.

“Yes, as usual, I can tell exactly when you get to class,” I explained in my usual quiet monotone voice. The teacher told us to study the terms of the test next week and as usual, I didn’t have to because I was ahead, which gets boring. “Hey, did you know they put mines in the forest that I usually come through?”

“Wait really?” She looked worried, “Did you set any off?”

“Yes, though I found a way to dodge them,” I told her without going into a deeper explanation.

“You weren’t hurt were you?” Emit chimed in with a worried look on his face.

“I’m fine, not even a scratch, I just used the trees jumping from branch to branch,” I explained further so they’d stop worrying, and as usual, the worry was wiped from their faces.

“That’s dangerous to go from tree to tree though, you could’ve slipped.” Theo pointed out to them.

“Well, I didn’t, as you can tell, I’m fine.” I told them, “So stop worrying.”

“Alright, fine.” Emit said with his mellow voice and worrying wiped from his face.

“I already have girl,” Caroline exclaimed.

“Good.” Obviously, Theo didn’t answer but he didn’t have to, and at that thought, that day was over. Or so I thought...
