Queen Eleanora pondered about the invasion of Ryder Keep. She looked into the silvery mirror in her private chambers. There was a knock on the light brown door. A small elf bowed at her. "My Queen, I have news about the dark elves", Caleb Wildwood said. "And what is that?", she asked. "They march towards Elk Whorl Forest sixty miles away to the right", it answered. "So the Keep is gone", she said. "Only Drake has there, with the dragon", Caleb stated. "And the human guards?", the Queen enquired. "Vanished. The Sorceress has won the battle", it said. She sighed, then nodded.

Roy stared at the Grey Room. He opened it with his left hand. Then, as he did so, he saw Delia was walking down the magic hallway. She was crying. "What's the matter, Delia?", Roy asked. "It's the end of the road, Roy. We've lost; we've lost", she insisted. He kissed her gently. "Nothing is truly lost unless it is lost. Besides, the Sorceress has a lot of power which is evil. She can be defeated", he answered. Delia raised her eyes at him. "Can it be true, Roy?; can it be ever be true?", she asked. "Aye, besides, I miss Drake...and the dragon in Ryder Keep", he said. He shook his head. He hugged her, then she blushed. And, as they smiled at each other, the imminent threat of the dark elves dominated their thoughts.

Dena held onto the bright candle in her small, left hand. The dwarf was shivering. She saw the other dwarves were drinking ale in the brightly-lit hallway. "Wear a cloak, child. You'll freeze", Grace, the Elder Dwarf, stated. She grabbed the black cloak, and put it around her slim back. "What about the Sorceress, Grace?", she asked her. "She has a lot of power, child. It's time for you to attend classes", she said. Dena looked at the books on the dusty shelves. She picked one from the dwarf library. It was called: Old Magic and its ancient powers, by Rowena Slider-Creek. Dena grabbed it, and placed it on one of the small seats. Then she begun to read the prologue while a quietness descended on the library, with the other dwarfs.
