Lower Manhattan, March 11, 1971

8:00 AM.

Madeline Robertson heard it.

The sound of knocking on the front door.

She opened it, and saw Daniel Robertson, smiling at her.

"I'm back!", he stated.

"Leave me alone!", Madeline said.

"You don't love me, Maddie", Daniel smiled.

"You were spending too much time in Belfast working for The Cause; you weren't here with your wife", she said. Daniel sighed. "I worked for us", Daniel said. He looked at her, and walked through the front door. Madeline shook her head. "The IRA isn't dead", she told him. "I know that; I work for a splinter group of the IRA. We want England to pay for invading Ireland". Madeline gazed at her ex-husband. "And you're here to ask for forgiveness?", she asked him. "Look, Maddie. I have paid for my crimes; I have paid a lot for what The Cause has done for us. There's no children to be taken care of; there's only...". Madeline shook her head. "I wanted children. But you weren't keen; you were away all of the time". She was glad to vent to rage at him. Daniel saw the newspapers on the kitchen table. ​THE IRA MURDERS STAIN THE CITY​. He read the article. "I told them that the crisis wasn't over", he said. And he shook his head, and attempted to patch everything up with his ex-wife.
