Unforgettable - Love Story -

Quinn Diaz was just a normal popular girl at her school. Her best friend was the most popular girl in existence - due to fame. One day Sierra, her best friend, had persuaded her to do something completely evil. Quinn went up to the well-known blind kid at school named Joseph Caddy and shoved a pie in his face. Joseph eventually fought whoever was in front of him and accusing them of pie-facing him. The results ended up with Joseph and Quinn both getting into ISS.

Will something spectacular happen for them? Will they eventually become friends?

4. Chapter 3

Quinn’s POV

It was lunchtime and Sierra was looking vengeful as ever. She was wearing a sample of my design, “La ’fair 09” that I had created a while ago. It was a white sequined short dress, with gold beads. Today, I was wearing my regular black above-the-knee skirt and an off-the-shoulder grey tube top with some 3-inch wedges. Not to mention my complimentary choker - not in an emo way.

“What took you three years?” Sierra scolds, biting her thumbnail and not looking away from her phone.

“Sorry, I was in the middle of baking actual treats for the bake sale. No one will buy overpriced things from Walmart.” I reply, taking a seat next to her and pulling out my golden lunch box, “Then after that, that stupid blind kid – Joseph – or whoever he comes and tried to force me to give him them for free. Like pffft, who do you think you are? God?”

“Joseph is a spoiled little brat, that’s what he is.” She says, finally looking up from her phone, “And speaking of the bake sale – “I cut Sierra off.

“Oh, I know this sale is for charity and whatnot, but can we please just stop worrying about it so much? I already started working on some treats, we should be good.”

“That’s not what I was going to talk about.” She scoffs, “I was going to talk about how I will seek my revenge.”

Oh god. When Sierra is “seeking revenge” it isn’t just “seeking” it’s usually sending out the whole school as an army against one person. I reach my hand across the table and lightly squeeze her wrists with a concerned look. She tilts her head with the type of look that tells me she doesn’t want to be told what to do. I remove my hand and protest.

“What do you plan on doing? He’s just a disabled kid – there’s so much you can do to get suspended.”

“Oh Quinny, I won’t be the one doing the dirty work.” She smirks, checking her long and pink acrylic nails.

“Then who will?” I ask. Sierra looks up at me with a wide grin and chuckles.

“No – not me –“

“Oh, yes you –“

“I don’t even know your plan –“

“That’s why I’ll teach you silly.” Sierra finishes. She pulls out a map and I don’t continue to fight with her. Fighting with her is like starting WWIII.

“Did you ever get my consent beforehand?” I ask again with an angrier tone this time.

“Of course not. I don’t need consent for a crime like this! That blind boy stole our sweets!”

“Sierra, this situation is as easy as going to the Deans office and asking for assistance! We don’t need to torture the kid!

“First off, who said I was going to torture him? Second, why is this suddenly my fault?” She exclaims as people around us begin to watch. I nudge my head to signal her to quiet down.

“Seriously? I’m not trying to pick a fight, I just think you’re going overboard with this.” My words stumble out subtly.

“Then hush and let me explain.”

Not surprisingly, I shut up and listen to Sierra’s evil plan. She starts off by listing reasons why we should destroy this over-privileged blind kid even though she is an over-privileged French girl but who’s to judge? Then she began listing off all of his – records?

“How the hell do you know all this?” I ask, snatching some records from her.

“Quinny, I have my way with everything,”

As she keeps talking about her plan, I listen and read his records. “Joseph Caddy” is a 17-year-old Junior and has attended only one high school and two middle schools. Sierra keeps ranting about how he has a fetish with bakery treats and I keep reading. Joseph has been arrested twice for break in’s, and drugs. Wow, this is quite the record. Before I can see how he was blinded, sierra snatches the record back and says,

“Got it?” She asks, “Now, re-tell me everything I just told you.”

“You said, I was going to pie him in the face after you kiss him on the lips.”

“Correct! Now all we have to –“

“Don’t you think that sounds kind of evil?” I ask again, making sure she doesn’t regret anything she’s doing. I mean, everything that she just said seems so wrong.

“Quinn, my family has more money than his. I’ll be fine.”

“All this over a stolen pie?”

“No. All this over a stolen pie that Alex’s mom spent money on.”

Suddenly, the bell rings and it’s time for my third period. After that would be the fourth period. Then after that is the end of the day – leaving the mission waiting to be complete. I can’t reject Sierra because then she would refuse to talk to me. I love her with half my heart and I’m not so sure that she would do well without me.

God, I am such an enabler.

It was then the end of the school day and time for the bake sale. As I step foot into the cafeteria, there is almost the whole school lined up to buy a treat. Wow, my bakery treats must be a hit.

“What did I tell ya? My treats would be GOLD.” Alex flaunts, taking a bite out of a chocolate muffin I made. I quickly snatch it out of his hand leaving him a sad reaction.

“Ah – no. These were made by me and sadly are not from Walmart. You will not be eating these.” I scold as I throw the one he bit into in the trash. Theo laughs as Alex sighs.

“Damn sis, these are actually gold, how did you have the time?” Theo asks, raising a chocolate cupcake up to his nose as he inhales it.

“I spent my free period making them. Thank god the kitchens have multiple ovens.” I reply with a smile. Theo raises his eyebrows and slaps five dollars in front of Sierra.

“In that case, I’ll take as many as I can get.”

Sierra smirks and hands him 4 cupcakes. He smiles at her and leans over for a kiss. Alex whips out his phone and records the whole thing. Alex is such a weirdo when it comes to Sierra and Theo. They’re supposed to be known as the star couple. I mean honestly, they are - but sometimes I wonder if this is actually what they both want.

Sierra snatches Alex’s phone out of his hand and looks at the video’s and pictures he took. I peer over and examine too. A smile creeps upon my face as I watch how staged they look.

Okay, hold on.

I’m not dissing on my brother and my best friends relationship! I’m just stating the obvious. Something is hinting to me that they aren’t actually in love. Something is telling me that things are a bit off. Sierra is a queen bee who will get whatever she desires and is semi-famous. Theo is a jockey un-famous boy whose passion is lacrosse and making people happy. This video of them exchanging a kiss and a cupcake is just so unreal.

“Cute - send that to me.” Sierra gushes, kissing Theo’s cheek. I watch his reaction. Nothing.

“What about all of the others I took?” Alex asks her, scrolling with his finger.

“Nah - I just want that one. This one will get at least fifty thousand likes - then I get verified on Instagram!”

I fakely smile and clap at the thought of this. Normally I’m not fake, but as of right now, making Sierra happy is all I intend on. We continue selling cupcakes to random people and they all seem super nice. Suddenly, I receive a big bear hug from behind and turn around to see that it’s Dale. He is wearing his lacrosse uniform and has a wide grin spread across his face.

“Hey, babe.” He greets, swooping me into a kiss. His lips are moist, along with the rest of his body.

“Hey -” I start, only to get interrupted by Theo.

“How’s training JV?” He asks him. Dale shakes his wet hair and a few drops his my revealing arms.

“Rainy.” Dale points out the window. Alex, Theo, Sierra, and I evert our attention outside the wide window behind us. It was pouring rain.

“Hah! I remember when I was on JV.” Alex says as he migrates towards me, reaching for another cupcake. I slap his hand just in time.

“And surprisingly you made Varsity this year.” Sierra sneers. Alex pouts and I comfort him by rubbing his back.

Within a few more minutes of Theo and Dale discussing Lacrosse, along with Alex trying to join in while Sierra insults him, a new customer arrives and I seem to be the only one that’s not occupied.

“Hi, how can I help you?” I ask the girl. She is a redhead and has pale skin. Her body crouches and searches for a treat, “Take your time.” I say.

“I’ll take this one.” She pointed at the Walmart pies that Alex’s mom bought.

“This one?” I ask again, reassuring.

I bend down and grab the treat. As soon as I do this, Sierra walks over beside me and helps me. This is weird - Sierra enjoys insulting Alex. I stand up and hand her the pie. She gracefully hands the pie over to the girl.

“Sierra! Oh, my gosh girl - you’re doing charity?” The girl perks.

“It’s something I like to do to help others I guess. So, the most fantastic Ellie - how has your day been?”

For what seems like hours, Sierra and the girl called “Ellie” continue talking about their lives and what-not. I stood there third wheeling. When I feel like I’m being third-wheeled, what I do is I link my arm in Dale’s to see if he’ll acknowledge me. He’s too caught up in lacrosse that he doesn’t even notice.

The real question is, why is Sierra being so darn nice to this girl? How do they know each other? And where can I find her if I want Sierra to be more productive? Honestly, I didn't even know Sierra had a sane side.

"Guys...? Should we start packing up?" I ask. everyone ignores me and continues on with their stupid conversations. I try again.

"Hello!!!" Still nothing. Here I go again -

"Excuse me, but I think this young lady is begging for your attention."

Behind me is the one and only, Joseph Caddy. I hate the name. My body turns around and my eye's meet his sunglasses. Beside him were his three minions that everyone knew. Tuck, Geo, and Harvey. Sierra and I freeze, while Theo, Dale, and Alex greet them with bro hugs.

"What's up, dude." Theo greets. I look over at Alex, who happened to have sneaked a cupcake! Seriously though, have some respect.

"You guys want something? I'll pay." Dale offers with his hand up. I use my hand to hover over his, causing it to move down. He looks at me confused.

"What do you want?" I ask with an attitude. I am more of a get-to-the-point type of person. After all, these guys did treat me like shit earlier.

"Oh, Quinn, I just want a simple snack." Joseph sneers sarcastically. I growl under my breath and Dale pulls me back from almost murdering him. that over-privileged son of a -

"Oh, it's you, Joey. I didn't notice you. What's up?" Dale says in a friendly manner. Wait - what?

"Are you seriously greeting him right now? Don't you remember the dick thing he did to us before?" I question, drawing attention towards myself.

"Yeah babe, I know. the thing is," his voice gets soft, "We made up with a game of lacrosse. Kid's a beast."

So Dale is going to take some jerk's side because of a game of lacrosse? Wow, couples goals am I right? I shake my head and flip my long black hair on his chest, turning and facing Sierra and Ellie who look completely dumbfounded.

"I can't talk to you right now." I finish. I attempt to walk out of behind the counter, but Ellie stops me. Her long pale arm extends across the exit.

"What the hell?"

"Come on, you're being a drama queen." She says, trying to reason with me. Me? A drama queen? You wish! "Joseph can't be that bad."

"Yea Quinny, Joseph is a REAL cutie." her voice moves in a way as if she were trying to signal something to me. Then it hit me. The plan to ruin Joseph had just sparked to my mind. Her eyes widen with a grin.

"Ellie's here. Wow, this day just keeps getting better." Joseph laughs, poking his cane to the ground. Theo and Alex laugh too. Gale has genuine hurt in his eyes.

"You're right Sierra. Joseph is only the cutest..." I sneer. My hand begins to slowly scoop the nearest pie.

"Wait - what?" Dale asks defensively.

"Quinn - it's just a damn bake sale." Theo starts.

"So like, I can eat right?" Alex asks stupidly.

   Let the games begin.

A/N: Year 5 and here it is lol. So, this is very dramatic and childish if you ask me. BUT don't worry, it get's good. what do you think the tension between ellie and sierra are?!?!
