You Must Be A Weasley

Ruby Weasley, twin of Ronald Weasley, has always been the odd one out of the family. It bothers her, making her frustrated. She wonders why though, why her? Out of everyone in her family, why her? For most of her life she's been asking questions, questions that no one could answer. Until she enters Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where she meets the infamous Draco Malfoy. Will they be enemies like everyone else in the family? Or will they actually get along?

Words could not describe how Ruby felt right now. Today was the day Ruby and Ron will be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She had been waiting for eleven years for this wonderful day. She heard many things about Hogwarts from her older brothers, wonderful things about Hogwarts. Like the castle itself, the Gryffindor common room, the library, the classes, and also the feast.

Most of the Weasley children were at the table eating breakfast. While Ron was eating his eggs, he noticed Fred's and George's strange behaviors. They were snickering and whispering to each other. Ron already knew what was going on; they pranked someone.

Ron smiled, "okay, who did you two prank?"

Fred and George grinned at Ron, was about to answer until- "FRED! GEORGE!"

They soon heard footsteps on the stairs, coming down, soon Percy showed up with blue and pink spots on his skin. He glared at Fred and George while they laughed uncontrollably. Soon, Ruby showed up with her black cat, Archie, in her arms. She took one look at Percy and laughed as well. "Pink spots, nice touch." Ruby high-fived Fred and George.

"We wouldn't have come up with it without your help, sis," Fred said.

"You were in on this?" Percy switched his glare to Ruby.

"Not exactly, I noticed some flaws in their plan so I fixed it. But the pink spots are my idea." Ruby said. She smiled innocently towards Percy who looked like he was about to burst. "Relax Percy, it washes off..." Percy went back upstairs, "after five washes." Ruby muttered the last part. She sat next to Ron, placed Archie on her lap, then started eating her breakfast.

Ruby was not exactly a prankster like Fred and George, but she does like to help them with their pranks and sometimes also their products. She was like a sidekick when it comes to their plans. She had a very close bond with Fred and George, she got along with them very easily. The twins are very protective over Ruby, they always had her back and she had theirs.

After breakfast, all the Weasley's packed themselves into the muggle car and then drove to King's Cross Station. When they entered the station, it was packed with muggles, like always. They rushed through the busy muggles, pushing their trolleys, guided by their mother. Ruby was smiling widely, she couldn't wait to board the Hogwarts Express. "It's the same, year after year. Always packed with muggles, of course," Molly Weasley said. "Come on, Platform 9 3/4 this way!"

They walked a bit more until they stopped between the platform of nine and ten. "Alright Percy, you're first." Molly said.

Percy stepped up with his trolley, then ran into the wall, disappearing right through it.

Molly turned to Fred, "Fred, you're next!"

"He's not Fred, I am!" George lied, causing Ruby to smile secretly.

"Honestly woman, you call yourself our mother." Fred said, playing along.

"Oh, I'm sorry George," Molly apologized, believing their trick.

Fred stepped up, turned to his mother, "I'm only joking, I am Fred." He then ran and disappeared into the wall, followed by George.

Ruby quietly giggled, Ron and Ruby stepped up and was about to run through the wall until a boy with glasses, wearing large clothes, showed up also with a trolley. "Excuse me!" He approached Molly with a nervous expression, "c-could you tell me how to..."

"How to get onto the platform?" Molly asked and the boy nodded, "yes, not to worry dear. It's Ron and Ruby's first time to Hogwarts also." Molly pointed at them; they smiled at the boy, who relaxed his shoulders a bit. "Now, all you've got to do is walk straight at the wall between platform nine and ten. Best to do it at a bit of a run if you're nervous," Molly explained.

The boy stepped up, took a deep breath, and then ran into the wall. Ruby turned to Ron, "hope he's okay," she said as they were about to run.

"Of course, he's okay, why wouldn't he be?"

Ruby shrugged, "he seemed very nervous."

Ruby then ran into the wall, followed by Ron, they were at the other side of the platform. Ruby gasped in amazement when she saw the huge red train, with steam coming out from every direction A burst of joy sprout in Ruby, she had waited too long for this moment. This wonderful magical moment. The platform was crowded with children and their parents; saying goodbye to one another.

The train started to move when Ruby and Ron stepped foot on it. They walked through the hallways, trying to find an empty compartment for them. Ruby held Archie against her chest, also dragging Ron by the sleeve. They soon both found a compartment that only had a boy sitting in it. Ron slid the compartment door open, "excuse me?" He asked, "do you mind? Everywhere else is full."

Ruby recognized the boy; he was the boy from earlier. "No, not at all." He gestured his hands to the empty seats across him.

Ruby and Ron entered the compartment and sat across from the boy. "I'm Ron, by the way, Ron Weasley, and this is my twin sister, Ruby."

"I'm Harry, Harry Potter."

Both Ruby and Ron's eyes widen when he announced his name. Of course, they heard about the famous Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived. The boy who survived the killing curse cast by You-Know-Who. Every witch and wizard had heard about Harry Potter, there's no question about it.

"Really? You're really Harry Potter?" Ruby asked in shock and amazement.

"So it's true? I mean, do you really have the...the..." Ron stuttered the question, pointing at his forehead.

"The what?" Harry asked in confusion.

"The scar. He's asking about the scar," Ruby said, and Ron nodded.

"Oh, yeah," Harry lifted up his hair to reveal the famous lightning bolt scar, and smiled.

"Wicked," Ron and Ruby said in amazement.

A trolley of sweets rolled by the compartment, "anything from the trolley, dears?" The older woman asked them.

Ron held up munch sandwiches Molly packed for them in disappointment, "no thanks, we're all set."

Harry saw the sad looks of Ruby and Ron. He dug into his pocket, getting a handful of Galleons. "We'll take the lot!'

"Whoa!" Ron said, staring at the coins.

They end up buying half of the sweets on the trolley; the compartment was filled with empty or half full packages of sweets. Ruby was munching a Liquorice Wand while reading her favorite novel, Alice in Wonderland. It was a muggle book, not a wizard book. She preferred novels by muggles than wizards because they had more suspense and action in them. They were more interesting.

Ron was stuffing his face with sweets, and Harry was trying bits of everything. "Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans?" Harry asked them, holding up the box of sweets.

"They mean, every flavor," Ruby said, looking up from her book.

"There is chocolate and peppermint-" Ron said.

"And there is also spinach, liver, and tripe-" Ruby added.

"George swore he got a bogey flavored one before," Ruby and Ron said at the same time. They shared a look before turning back to Harry.

Harry tried a bean, made a disgusted face, and then took the bean out of his mouth. Harry picked up another package, "they aren't real chocolate frogs, are they?"

"They are," Ruby said.

"It's only a spell. Besides, it's the cards you want. Each pack has a famous witch or wizard. I got about 500 myself." Ron said.

Harry opened the package and the chocolate frog jumped out and onto the window, then leaped out the window.

"Oh, that's rotten luck. They've only got one good jump in them to begin with."

Harry looked at his card, "I got Dumbledore!" Harry looked at them.

"I got about six of him," Ron said.

Harry looked back at the card, Dumbledore was not there anymore. "Hey, he's gone!"

"Well, you can't expect him to hang around all day, can you?"

Harry's eyes switched to a rat whose head was in a package. "This is Scabbers, by the way, pathetic, isn't he?" Ron said.

Harry shrugged his shoulders, "just a little bit."

"Fred gave me a spell to turn him yellow. Want to see?"

Harry smiled, "yeah!"

Ruby rolled her eyes a bit, she knew the spell Fred gave Ron was not an actual spell, but Ron believed Fred. Ruby watched Ron in amusement. Ron took out his wand and then cleared his throat before he cited the spell, "sun-" He stopped when a girl with bushy brown hair appeared at the doorway.

"Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville's lost one," she asked them.

They shook their heads, "no," Ron said.

The girl noticed Ron had his wand out, "oh, are you doing magic? Let's see then."

Ron cleared his throat again, "sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, turn this stupid fat rat yellow!" Ron pointed his wand at Scabbers. There was a flash of light but nothing happened. Ron looked at Harry and Ruby who just shrugged their shoulders at him.

"Are you sure that's a real spell? Well, it's not very good, is it? Of course, I've only tried a few simple spells myself, and they've all worked for me." She took out her wand and then sat across from Harry. "For example," she pointed her wand at him, Harry showing a panicked expression, "Oculus Reparo," she cast the spell. The tape on the bridge of Harry's glasses disappeared. Harry took off his glasses and stared at it in amazement, they were fixed. "Holy cricket! You're Harry Potter. I'm Hermione Granger," she turned to Ron and Ruby, "and you are?"

"I'm Ron Weasley, and this is Ruby, my twin." Ron said with his mouth full.

Hermione stared at Ron in disgust, "pleasure." Hermione switched her attention to Ruby and Harry. "You three better change into your robes. I expect we'll be arriving soon." She got up and was about to leave until she turned back to Ron. "You have dirt on your nose by the way, did you know? Just there," she pointed at her nose, then left.

Ron rubbed his nose, and then turned to Ruby, "is it still there?" he asked.

Ruby laughed and shook her head, "not anymore." Then turned back to her book.

"She seemed annoying." Ron said.

"You don't even know her Ron, how do you know?" Ruby put down her book and then raised her brows at him.

"How can you not! She's such a show-off."

Ruby rolled her eyes, "well, I like her." Then turned back to her book. She read through the journey to Hogwarts.
