Made by Man

Abigail was just a normal girl. She was kidnapped and made into an experiment. She escapes a whole new person. Her eyes and hair. The fact that she can change into a wolf. Yeah. A wolf. She also discovers the werewolf aren't just myth. Now she's struggling with the world she's only read in books. Being real just made it a lot scarier.

Abigail’s Pov

So school was….interesting. Being that I am now part of a pack I got a lot of questions from the members that go there. It annoyed Alex a lot. Of course he got pissed when Nick asked me to come to his house for a training session.

Of course they both had been sending each other glares the whole class too. Whatever happened to them must have been bad. Anyway I had told him I would text my parents about going over. I made something up to them saying how Nick’s mom wanted to check on my injuries. They said it was ok as long as I was home by nine. This made Alex even more mad.

I honestly don’t know why.

Lunch I think was the worse because the pack wanted to sit next to me but my friends wanted to as well. They had a fight about who was going to sit next to me. Eventually the all just sat around me. I hated all the attention and Alex knew it. He had offered five times throughout the day to take me home but I was determined to get through the day.

My last block was probably the best considering it was my study block. I had none of the pack or my friends in that class. I had always hated the class because of that. Now it seems great. I sigh and look at Alex. His eyes are closed and I can’t tell if it’s because he’s either meditating, listening in on someone’s conversation, or sleeping.

I lay back and finally relax glad to finally have a break from answering questions and having to deal with a whole bunch of people.

The block seems to end too soon.

The bell rings and I sigh grabbing my stuff. I walk out and as I pass by the guidance office a boy catches my eye. He has jet black hair and I can tell that it’s spiked in the front. He turns suddenly and looks at me.

My breath catches in my throat. The boy looks to be well built. I would call him a total hottie even. The boy smiles and winks at me.

Alex grabs my arm. “Wipe the drool off your face Abby. Let’s go to your boyfriends house and get this over with.”

I glare at Alex. “He’s not my boyfriend and you know that.” A teasing smile plays on my lips, “Jealous much?”

He roll his eyes. “In your dreams Abigail.”

I stick my tongue out at him. “I wouldn’t dream of you if it would save my life.”

He shakes his head and tugs on my arm. “Let’s go.”

I sigh. “Fine. I don’t like being rushed.”

He smiles. “You just want to keep drooling over that boy.”

I slap him on the chest and he frowns. “That actually hurt.” He says rubbing his chest.

I walk away. “Good.”

He follows behind me. I hear him growl and look to see the boy from the guidance room walking towards us.  I give Alex a look and he stops growling but I can tell he’s not happy. He stands next to me with his arms crossed.

The boy rubs the back of his neck. “Hi I’m new to this school. I was just registering for tomorrow. You look like you know your place around this school. Could you show me around?” The boy asks looking at me.

My heart skips a beat in my chest. I nod. “Yeah.” I hold out my hand, “I’m Abigail.”

He smiles and grabs my hand. “I’m Charles. Most of my friends called me Charly.”

I frown. Where does that name sound familiar. “What’s your last name?” I ask.

His smile widens, “It’s Blackburn.”

Something about that name sends warning bells in my head. I pull my hand from his. “That sounds familiar. Have you lived here before?” I ask.

He shakes his head. “This is the first time I’ve been here.” He says.

I frown. “I’ve heard your name before.”

He frowns. “I don’t know why you would have heard my name before.”

Alex put’s a hand on my shoulder. I look at him. “Come on Abigail we need to go. We can’t be late.”

Charles frowns. “I guess I’ll see you at school tomorrow?’

I nod. “Met me at the entrance and I’ll show you to your classes.”

He smiles. “Great I’ll be there.”

I nod and without another word walk with Alex to the car. I get in on the passenger’s side after putting my bookbag in the back. Alex frowns getting in the driver’s side. “You shouldn’t hang out with that boy. There’s something about him that I don’t trust.”

I roll my eyes. “You’re just jealous that I’m hanging out with a cute boy.”

He rolls his eyes. “Not a chance. I just don’t trust him.”

I frown. “You barely even know him.”

He starts the car. “Exactly.”

Charle’s POV

Stupid. I shouldn’t have used my real name. Bad enough she has a beast at her side glaring at me. Now she can find out who I am.

When I saw her through the glass window of the guidance office I was stunned. I was given a description of what she looked like but still nothing could prepare me for seeing her. She’s absolutely stunning. Her eyes are such a beautiful blue and they look like they are practically glowing. Her hair is a light brown and snowy white highlights dance around her hair.

I almost lost my composure when I saw her.  She took my breath away. I guess it’s the knowledge of knowing I am no longer the only one like me. That it was her. When we touched shaking hand it felt like an electric shock going through me.

I need to be more careful. It seems Abigail has already heard of me. If she finds out who I am I won’t be able to help her. She needs to finish her tests.

I take out my phone and call Avery. He picks up. “You find her?” He asks.

I smile. “Yes. This shouldn’t take long. Give me about a couple weeks and I’ll have her to you.”

He clears his throat. “Good. Remember her safety is riding on this. If we don’t take those tests we won’t know if she’s stable or not. It’s pretty much for everyone's safety.”

I nod. “Of course. I’ll update to you again in a couple days.”

“Good. I want to hear good news.” He hangs up.

I put my phone in my pocket and walk out of the school. My wolf wants me to follow Abigail’s scent but I know I have to play it cool.

I recognise those eyes Charles. She was a part of a pack not far from mine. She was the only wolf I saw with eyes like that. Her name was Miakoda. She was the best beta any wolf had ever seen. Rare to considering most males are the ones who gain the rank of beta or Alpha.

She is no longer Miakoda. She is now just a part of Abigail. We have to help them both.

Abigail’s POV

I wipe my forehead my breathing heavy. Nick has been pushing me hard. Alex of course is standing there with an amused look on his face.

I ignore him and keep training. Nick told me I’m going to have to fight through the pain and he’s right.

By the time he finally says I’m finished I’m sore everywhere.

He smiles. “Your doing really good. Keep up and we’ll be starting up on training in wolf form in no time at all.”

Suzanah comes out with a glass of whatever. She looks at me and frowns. “You should be easier on her Alpha. She was just injured really bad yesterday.”

I shake my head. “I’m good Suz.”

She sighs. “You’re still as stubborn as ever Abbs.”

I smile. “Of course. I wouldn’t be Abigail if I wasn’t stubborn.”

She rolls her eyes and hands me the water. I take it and gulp it down. She wrinkles her nose. “Make sure to take a shower when you get home.”

I stick my tongue out at her.

Alex walks over to me. “We need to get going or your parents are going to start worrying.”

I sigh. “I know.” I look at Nick, “Thank you for the training. I’ll see you at school tomorrow?” I ask.

He nods. “Yep. It’s a shame that tomorrow’s a friday. What do you think you’ll be doing during the weekend?”

I shrug. “I have no clue honestly.”

Nick smiles. “We are having are pack ball soon. It’s a way for us to look for our mates. I think you should come. It’s not this weekend. It’s next weekend. This weekend we are hunting as a pack. I would like you to come if you can.”

I nod. “I’ll try. I will most likely come to the ball as well. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

He nods and I hug Suzanah before I leave.

Alex opens the door and I hop in. He goes into his sid and turns the key. “Why do you want to go to the ball? Do you think you’ll find your mate there?”

I shrug. “I don’t know. “

He looks at me. “You don’t know if you’ll find your mate or you don’t know why you want to go?”

He scrunches his eyebrows. “Then why do you accept?”

I sigh. “I don’t know ok. Just drive me home. It’s getting late.”

He frowns but pulls out of the driveway and heading to the direction of my house.

I frown after a couple minutes remembering Charles. “That boy’s name sounds familiar. I’ve heard it before. Charles Blackburn…… I’m going to search it up when I get home.” I say.

Alex nods. “You probably were told that name at some point.”

I shrug. “Maybe. I’ll have to search it up to be sure. I just feel like his name is connected to what happened to me. That’s why I agreed to showing him around school. So I can figure it out.”

We turn into my driveway. I get out and grab my stuff. I head inside the door unlocked. “I’m home.” I say.

Silence. I frown and look around. I find a note on the fridge.

Clarissa got  really sick. I had to take her to the doctor. If we’re not home by the time you get back there’s some leftovers in the fridge. Heat them up for you and Alex. Get your homework done and we should be home soon.

Alex is behind me when I turn around giving me a small heart attack. I smack his shoulder. “Make some sort of noise next time. Jeez!”

He chuckles.

I glare at him. “Not funny.”

He smiles. “Was to me.”

I roll my eyes. “Go heat something up and eat. I’m going up stairs to my computer.” I turn away from him and walk up stairs. I throw my bookbag and hop onto my spinning chair. I open my computer and google Charles Blackburn.

I frown looking at the screen. There’s nothing. Literally. It says there’s zero results. I try different ways but nothing comes up.

I groan in frustration after a couple hours and shut the lid on my computer. I tap on my desk deep in thought. There has to be something with him on it. It’s like he doesn’t exist.

I open my computer again. I search. Kids reported missing found. A lot comes up for that and I scroll through it. Something catches my eye and I go back up. I look at the name Charles Blackburn and the picture a boy with brown hair and green eyes. He looks like a spitting image of the boy I met at school. Well except for the hair and eyes. I click on it and read.

Charles Blackburn was reported missing by his parents on November, 7, 2016. He was 17 when kidnapped. He later was found by Mara Raven who said she found this boy wondering the woods. At first it was believed that the boy wasn’t the one the parents were looking for because of the way he was found. The boy who used to have brown hair and green eyes (as you saw in the picture) now has black hair and brown eyes. He was officially reported found on December, 1, 2016. The police will give us no more information on the matter.

My heart skips a beat and I remember the chief. He had told me there was another boy. How is it coincidence that he is at my school not that long after I escape?

I shut my computer and sit there for a minute letting my heart stop going 100 miles an hour in my chest. I bite my lower lip.

Maybe the boy just happened to move.

I can’t help but feeling that’s not why.

Should I tell Alex? Should I just see for myself?

I sigh. I’m probably going to regret this.
