The Story of Koko Slick

On the planet Flukupra, the Yalis is a species just like the humans, only they aren't violent in any way. Suddenly, the biggest city in the world starts getting a bunch of homicides. City police can't figure out what's being used for attack so they call in Mr. Koko Slick, the smartest man in the world, to uncover the mystery and stop the murders from happening. He stops at nothing to make sure that whomever is behind this is captured. Only he has no idea what is at stake.

7. Departure

Isn't it funny? One person can go from a hero and a very important person, to unreliable and most hated with a single event. I couldn't even control the end result, but yet I'm still going to be blamed. It's ridiculous. Based on my predictions, the world only has three days now. On this day, the evacuation ships are departing in hopes to find a new home. The pilots the presidency sent to ask the Wise Ten for help have not returned. There is no way I'm going to let my son die on this planet. I have trustworthy contacts on the ship that can sneak him on board, and that's the plan.

Before executing the plan I hug my son and tell him that I love him. We both head out to the ships location just outside of the city. The public is unaware of their location so we get there easily and without major traffic. I drive past the main entrance to the ship and head towards the back. In front of us lies a gate with a key card needed to get in. I stop just outside the gate, grab my key card, and hand it to the guard. he puts it into the system and gives me a strange and scary look.

"The card was denied. I'm going to ask you nicely to leave, Mr. Slick." His voice is low and intimidating.

"There must be a mistake. Can you tray again please?" I ask in a nervous tone.

The guard shakes his head and runs it again. He raises his eyebrows in shock when he saw the computer accepted my card. He hands my card back to me and says, "Sorry for the inconvenience. You can head in."

I drive in and park the car. Up in the distance is the cargo load up to the ships. That is our entrance. We enter the large ship and come into contact with my guy inside that I trusted. Suddenly, the alarms started sound and the next thing I know we were surrounded by guards with guns aiming at our chests.

The captain of police walks around the corner and smiles. He says to me, "I'm really surprised you made it this far. Clearly you had help, but regardless you know I can't let you stay here."

"Please, I'm begging you. If you can't take us both, take my son at least. He would make an excellent teacher in history. You all can learn from him and fix what we messed up here." I say this in hopes the captain agrees.

Seconds roll by, but it feels like hours. I begin to sweat. Finally the captain speaks, "I guess we could learn a thing or two from the history. Welcome aboard, Yadosso."

I exhale in relief and turn to my son whom is crying and scared. I hold him in my arms and tell him that everything is going to be okay. A different alarm goes off and an announcement that take off will be in ten minutes goes across the intercom. Crying I hug my son and then leave the ship all by myself. I get to my car and the ships takeoff.
