4. Meeting Absolem

As Alice followed the dormouse and rabbit, she noticed that everything seemed perfect. So perfect, that she started to enjoy this world she was in. She continued to follow them until they came to Absolem’s dwelling area. It was a neat part of a forest by a glistening river bank. “Wow, it's so, so..” Alice couldn't find any words to explain this scenery for a minute. “Extraordinary!” she finally said. Mally gestured to say a word or two to Mctwisp. “Maybe she IS Alice. She seems a bit...Air headed.” McTwisp looked at Alice, who was looking at her reflection in the river, amazed by the clearness of it. He then looked back at Mally. “It seems she is, but we need more proof.” He then called for Absolem.Suddenly, the grass covering up the image of Absolem moved out of the way. Alice saw as the grass moved, a giant green caterpillar with blue spots on it's skin. He was drinking some type of liquor, with glass bottles surrounding the mushroom he was sitting on. He looked at Alice and pointed at Mally and McTwisp. He drank some liquor, “Now, why have you come here?” Mally grabbed his coat in a nervous way. “We brought a girl called, Alice.” Absolem’s eyes grew as he spilled a little bit of liquor beside him. “Alice?” McTwisp jumped in and replied, “Yes sir. Well, we THINK it's her anyway. We wanted you to figure that out.” Absolem drank from his bottle again. He then took the bottle and poured the rest out into a portrait of the real Alice. Alice looked at the portrait as soon as he finished. Her eyes widened. “That, that's me!” The portrait was an exact match.Absolem looked at the portrait and then looked back at her “You look like the real Alice, but ARE you the real Alice?”

“I am, I am the real Alice!”  exclaimed Alice. Absolem shook his head “You’re Alice...but not quite.”  “What do you mean I’m me but not quite me? I am me and I know that for a fact!”  said Alice growing frustrated. “You look like Alice but you are not Alice and that is that” said Absolem and the grass moved back to where it was and Absolem was not visible at all “I don’t understand, how can I be me but not quite?”
