I did everything for you.
I thought that what we had was real.

But turns out, you were in it for something else.
Not for me.

I should've known
that you were one of those.

Guess it's all in the past.
But I'll tell you what it's like loving you.
This is a short poem for the A Valentine's Day Writing competition.
I chose to do #1

6. What I Am Capable Of // Ending

What it's like loving you
is a straight-up nightmare.

You are a fox.
A sneaky fox who can't be trusted.

A fox that needs to be put down
before he can damage anything else,
or anyone else ever again.

"What it's like loving you"
is nothing more
but words that won't be said again.

You know what they say,
"What happens in the dark
comes to light."

Your darkness came to my light,
opening my eyes,
showing me what you're capable of.

What you didn't know was what I was capable of.

I cried you a river,
I built a bridge
and got over it.
That's what I'm capable of.

This is the ending. I hope you enjoyed it. I enjoyed writing this. I have an upcoming poem that I wrote on Wattpad two years ago that is sort of similar to this. The first chapter will be published on Saturday if you want to go check it out. Good luck to the other participants who are competing in the A Valentine's Day Writing competition. And thank you to those who read my book! xo
