A Very Tinder Christmas

Michael - 21 - Need someone to bring home for Christmas because I panicked and told my family I had a girlfriend and now they’re insisting that she comes on our annual Christmas trip with us. Must be okay with being called Rose. Must have a passport. ~A Christmas Competition 2nd Place Winner~

7. Chapter Seven

“Nice to meet you, Rose,” Mary, Michaels mother, said as she pulled me in for a hug.

I chuckled, hoping I got familiar being called that. “Nice to meet you too, Mary.”

As soon as she released me, Doug, the father, held out his hand. “We’ve heard a lot about you, Rose,” he told me as I reached out and shook his hand.

“Have you now?” I said, giving a slide glance at Michael who blushed slightly and shrugged.

“What? I have a beautiful girlfriend, I couldn’t help but tell them about you,” he responded, causing me to blush.

“The last few days he’s been gushing about you,” Jackie, the sister-in-law, said and she went and hugged me.

Sam started talking next, shaking my hand just like his father did, “Yeah, up until then I kinda thought he had made you up.”

I chuckled. “I don’t think he’s creative enough to do that,” I countered causing the group to laugh, except for Michael who just threw his arm around me.

“Oh hush, hush,” he said with a small grin, probably enjoying the fact that my joke about him made it seem like we knew each other better than we really did. “Don’t we have a plane to get on?”

We had met his family at the Chicago O’Hare airport and our plane to London was about to start boarding. “Everyone have their boarding passes and passports?” Doug asked and everyone went through their bags and pockets and pulled them out one-by-one. “Good, on we go!”
