''This is no girl scout camp, Private.''

''Sir, No, sir.''

-

Luke is the scrawny new guy in the army, where no one think he belongs.

Ashton is the sir in Luke's tent, and not going easy on any of the boys.

32. My Family

''Wait. You became an alcoholic?'' Ashton asked, suddenly looking all miserable.

''Don't feel all sad for yourself. You should pity me instead. I'm the one who was given a broken heart way too many times to count, but only one person. And that one person being you. But yes. I became an alcoholic. But I stopped before I became too addicted. Before I turned into a monster.'' I said, turning my back to him, as tears fell from my eyes, as I remembered the darker times after Elliot being born.

''I could have helped Luke... If you had just let me stay at Elliot's birthday, he said, and I felt the anger boil inside of me.

''Let you stay!? Ashton you fucking hit me, leaving me physically bruised for two months, and mentally, I'm still bruised. I don't trust you near my son.'' I said, but still keeping my back towards him.

''Our son.'' Ashton said, and I turned around, looking into is eyes.

''He was never your son. By blood, yes. But other than that, you were never there. You only saw him the first few days of his life. You didn't even do anything to see him again, for another year. You keep on leaving Ashton, and you hurt me every single time.'' I said, walking over to the window, and looking outside.

''You knew I was pregnant, and that it was your child, yet you didn't do anything about it. You knew where Elliot and I lived, yet you didn't do anything about it. You know where we live, yet you don't do anything about it.'' I said, wanting to jump out of the window. Falling 23 stories could kill you right?

''I remember... Back when we were stuck in that jungle. You were getting tired, to the point of ranting. You told me about your dad. And how you never wanted to become him. But guess what. You did. And just one last fact for you. I don't love you. I maybe did once. But not anymore. I've learned from my mistakes.'' I said, and shortly after I heard the door to my office slam shut.

I took a deep breath, before walking to my chair, and sitting down again.

-

''Hey bub.'' I said, when I finally got home, and lifted Elliot into my arms.

''Dada. Luv uo.' He said, making me smile brightly at him.

''And I love you too Elliot.'' I said, kissing his nose.

''And I love the both of you.'' Charlie suddenly said, as he laid his arms around me, as Elliot was trapped in between.

''So. How did the meeting go?'' Charlie asked, as we walked to the living room, where I sat down Elliot so he could go and play.

''Like hell. In the begining, everything was going fine. He was a little nervous, so I told that there was nothing to be nervous about. He began talking about how hard it was for him to see me continue my life without him. We got in a huge fight, and I told him about how he broke me, and about when I became an alcoholic, because of him. I told him how I didn't love him anymore... About how he became what he never wanted to be.'' I said, taking off my jacket and tie, unbuttoning the two buttons on the top of my shirt.

''Hey... It's alright... He isn't here in your life anymore, to put any more stress on you... But I'm here, and so is Elliot, to help you reduce all the stress and bad moments he cause in your life.'' Charlie said, before kissing me lightly.

''God I love you.'' I said, before pulling him closer to me, as we watched Elliot play with his many toys.

And I actually felt genuinely happy.

As if I could do anything at the moment, just for the people I love.

''Charlie... I don't want to get up...'' I whispered, as I was snuggled into Charlie's warm chest, while the alarm kept on ringing.

''Me neither...'' He whispered back, before I heard him somehow pull the alarm out of the socket on the wall.

''Well that was one way to do it...'' I mumbled, chuckling lightly.

''Yup.'' Charlie said, before he rolled over, so he was laying between my legs, and hovering above me.

''God I love you so much.'' He whispered, as he rubbed my cheek.

''I love you too...'' I whispered, laying my hand on top of his.

I saw him smile at me, before he leaned down, kissing me lightly.

I kissed him back, loving the feeling he gave me.

''Luke...? I have been thinking and... Maybe it's time that I move in with you...? I'm barely at my own apartment anyway, and this is closer to my job. And then I have a better excuse to see you everyday... And I get to wake up to you every day.'' He said, kissing my nose lightly.

''I would like that...'' I whispered, running a hand through his hair.

''I would really like that.'' I whispered, before pulling him into another kiss.

''God I love your kisses. You're such an amazing kisser.'' He said, before kissing me deeply again.

I kissed him back, and if Elliot hadnøt knocked on the door, I'm pretty sure it would have went a lot further.

I got up from the bed, and opened the door, lifting the little boy up, before walking back to the bed, just laying with the two of them, watching movies all day.

With my family.

That sounds nice.

Really nice.
