Army Tanks - Lashton

''This is no girl scout camp, Private.''

''Sir, No, sir.''

Luke is the scrawny new guy in the army, where no one think he belongs.

Ashton is the sir in Luke's tent, and not going easy on any of the boys.

28. All about Charlie

I ended up falling asleep with Elliot in my bed, and when I woke up, he was still sleeping.

I grabbed my phone, and saw that I had a lot of missed calls both from Michael and Calum.

I sat up, noticing the voicemail.

I called the voicemail, and pressed the phone to my ear.

''Luke. It... It's Ashton. Calum beat him up, and now Ashton is unconcious. We're driving him to the hospital. And I'm so sorry for Calum's behavior.'' Michael said, sounding like he had been yelling.

''Yeah take the apology back. Ashton fucking hit Luke. He wanted to talk Luke into taking him back, and instead he ends up hitting him. I won't accept that shit.'' I heard Calum say in the background.

''Well... Then I take it back... For now.'' Michael said, and I then heard the voice say that I had no more voicemails.

I carefully got up from the bed, lifting Elliot with me, and walking to his room.

I layed him down in his bed and kissed his forehead, before I went to the bathroom, to see if I had any sort of mark on my cheek.

I turned on the light, and saw a huge mark, obviously formed like a hand, bruising my cheek.

I looked down, as I walked out from the bathroom, and walked downstairs.

I took a deep breath before I walked to the kitchen, took out my phone again.

I called up Michael, who answered immediately.

''Hey... What is the status of you all right now...?'' I asked, and sat down.

''Well... Ashton is in the hospital, I'm at the police station, trying to call my parents, who by the way won't answer, while Calum is in one of the cells.'' Michael explained, sounding really stressed.

''Michael. Hey. Calm down. Is everything alright?'' I asked, feeling the worry wash over me.

''No. No it's not. Calum is in jail, my parents won't talk to me, and I don't have the money to bail Calum out, unless I want to give up on the kid. But I don't want to raise our kid alone, because if Ashton dies, and I haven't bailed Calum out before, then Calum will end up with 4 years in prison, and I just can't do this Luke.'' Michael said, obviously crying.

''Michael. I'll just go get Elliot. I'll be with you in 10 minutes.'' I said, before hanging up, and running upstairs, and carefully waking Elliot.

I got the both of us dressed, before I ran downstairs, with a sleepy elliot in my arms, as I grabbed all the stuff that I needed, and then headed to the police station.

I walked into the police station, with Elliot sleeping in my arms, as I walked over to the front desk.

''Uhm... Michael Clifford? Is he here?'' I asked, biting my lip.

The guy pointed over to a shaking Michael, who was sitting in one of the offices.

''Thank you.'' I said, before quickly walking over, and inside the room.

''Hey Mike.'' I said softly. as I walked over to him.

''How are you feeling?'' I asked, as I sat beside him.

''I'm feeling like shit.'' He replied, taking a mouthful from his plastic cup.

''Can you just hold Elliot. I'm gonna go get him a cup of water for when he wakes uo real quick.'' I said, before giving Elliot to Michael, and then standing up, and walking from the room.

I walked back to the front desk, looking at the new guy sitting there.

I recalled seeing him in a gay bar a few weeks ago.

One point for me.

''Hey. Uhm... I'm here to bail out my friend.'' I said, looking at the cop.

He looked up, his eyes meeting mine, before they then went to my cheek.

''Who hit you...?'' He asked, and stood up.

''An old ex...'' I halfway lied, not really wanting to think of Ashton right now.

''You need some ice on that. Come on... I'll help you bail out your friend afterwards.'' He said, before he walked around the desk, laid an arm around my waist, and lead me to one of the bathrooms only for the police.

''Sit at the sink. I'll be right back. Stay here.'' He said, before he walked out.

I looked around the bathroom, feeling slightly awkward.

Soon after he came back, a cloth in his hand, as he walked over to me, standing between my legs.

He held the pack against my cheek carefully.

''Who was it that hit you...? It doesn't look that old.'' He said, removing the cold cloth shortly, before he placed it back.

''It happened just a few hours ago... Uhm... It's my son's first birthday and uhm... Suddenly the other father came, and I haven't seen him in almost a year and... We talked... And we ended up yelling, and he hit me. Uhm... And I told him to stay away from me, and went inside of my house again... And yeah...'' I looked down, feeling tears in my eyes.

''Hey... It's okay...'' He said, carefully taking my hand a holding it against my cheek, before he leaned in and hugged me.

I leaned into his embrace, letting my head rest against his shoulder.

I felt him rub my back lightly, as my crying slowly died down.

''I'm sorry for being such a cry baby.'' I said, giving him a sad smile.

''It's okay. Everyone needs to get out with their emotions sometimes.'' He said, pulling back, and smiling at me.

I smiled at him shortly, just taking in his face.

''Now. That friend of yours. We should bail him out now, don't you think?'' He asked, helping me down from the sink, and leading me out.

''How much will it cost...? I have around 5000 on my card right now, but I don't know if it's enough.'' I said, as I followed him into an office.

''You will only have to pay around 10% off the whole bail. Which is only one thousand.'' He said, giving me a short smile, before typing away on the computer.

Half an hour later, I walked out of the police station with Calum and Michael thanking me, asking if I was okay, Elliot in my arms, and Charlie, the cop that helped with my bruise's number, my thoughts all about Charlie.
