A collection of poems for the emotional

This collection of poems was written throughout my teenage years. Throughout them you can feel the rawness of emotions that come with being a teenager.

5. Bombs

I left a bomb on her doorstep

In the shape of a flower

With some words inside of it

That to leave it took: willpower

The words were some

I wasn’t ready to say

But I still felt them anyway,

To leave them there was a way

So whenever I was ready

I could trigger the bomb

And smugly smile

As it was there all along

But what I didn’t factor

She found it on her own.

I couldn’t trigger it.

It had already blown.

I’ve learnt not to leave nice words

As bombs that explode,

Or, maybe, next time

I’ll write it in code.
