Summer Paradise

"I never meant to fall in love with him! It just happened!" I screamed as tears ran down my cheeks. "He was there! When everything was falling apart! He was there! You don't get to come running back trying to be the hero! Not anymore!"

3. Wonder

~The cool night air brushed against my arm as I walked the trail in the woods. The full moon lite up the sky causing a light to shine up the path I was walking. The flowers glimmered against the light. I was told a week ago that I shouldn't walk alone at night, and like normal I didn't listen. When I felt someone touch my arm I started to regret not listening. Just as I was about to scream I felt a hand cover my mouth. To my relief it was just Justin.
"Don't fucking scare me like that!" I said trying to get my heart beat back to normal.
"Sorry." He laughed.
"Why are you out here this late?" I asked.
"I can ask you the same thing."
"I asked first." I sassed.
"I stopped by your place to see you but was told you went out for a walk." He explained.
"Oh." I laughed. "I am surprised you found me then."
"Wasn't that hard I heard you singing." He smirked as I blushed.
"Do you know the way back by any chance?" I asked nervously.
"You came in here late at night and got lost?!"
"It's not the first time." I laughed nervously.
"Oh god." He shook his head as he laughed at me.
"So do you?"
"Yes just follow me." He said taking my hand. I followed him out of the woods back up towards the house. I stopped in the garden and stared at the roses.
"They get more beautiful as each day passed." I explained.
"They aren't the only thing.." He smirked.
"I'm sorry I haven't really been texting you back." I apologized.
"It's okay, Hailey explained to me that you have had a lot on your mind lately."
"It still isn't an excuse." I sighed.
"Talk to me about it?" He questioned.
"I can't." I sighed. "At least not yet."
"Then when you can I will be waiting." He smiled at me before pulling me into a tight hug. I hugged him back before he let go and left. I walked the garden humming to myself thinking about everything.
"Juliet?" I turned my head to see Wesley smirking.
"Will you stop that." I groaned.
"Why? Is it because you think of Drew every time I do it?" He smirked as I blushed.
"Just please stop…" I muttered.
"Okay I'll stop, but you have to come to a get together Keaton and I are having. You can bring one friend, just as long as it's not that Shania girl." He explained.
"Fine." I shook my head trying not to smile at the fact that he doesn't want Shania there.
"Then I will see you tomorrow at noon." He smiled before kissing my cheek. He quickly hurried away after that, such a cheeky fella. When I walked inside I heard Shania in the kitchen complaining about Julienne again, but when she saw me she shut up real quick. I walked up the stairs just enough to hear her go back to complaining. I shook my head and continued up to my room, and to my surprise Julienne was in there staring out of the window with a sad look on her face.
"What's wrong?" I asked startling her a bit.
"It's lonely here." She sighed.
"I agree one hundred percent." I muttered falling back onto my bed.
"Who was the fella in the garden with you?" She asked.
"Wesley." I said.
"What did he want?"
"He invited me to a get together tomorrow. Wanna join?" I asked.
"What?" She looked at me oddly.
"He said I could invite a friend as long as it wasn't Shania." I explained. "So would you like to join?"
"I'd love to." She smiled very happily before running out of my room.  I locked my door behind her and decided it was time to get some sleep.

Morning came in a hurry and it felt like I was hit during the sleep. I dragged myself out of bed and down the stairs. To my dismay it was Shania and Paige in the kitchen. Shania gave me a dirty look as I walked in.
"Hungry?" Paige asked.
"No thank you.." I mumbled taking my eyes off of Shania and turning them to Julie who was humming her way into the kitchen. She was already dressed and ready for the day.
"Good morning Julie." I smiled at her.
"Good morning Mandi." She smiled at me but when her face turned towards Shania it turned cold. Shania rolled her eyes before leaving the kitchen.
"Are you ready for the get together?" She smiled at me again.
"What get together?" Paige questioned.
"Wesley invited her over and I'm going with her." She grinned.
"Why are you going with?" She growled.
"Because I invited her to go." I said before walking out of the kitchen. As I walked up the stairs I heard Shania in her bedroom talking on the phone, and she sure wasn't being quiet about it either. It was obvious she was talking to Drew by the way she was flirting. I rolled my eyes and headed back to my room where I changed for the day. As I brushed my hair back I noticed that it was actually starting to fade badly. I pulled it back into a ponytail before I headed back down the stairs.
"Get out of my face." Shania growled.
"I'm not even in your face, nor would I even want to be." Julie sassed back smirking.
"I swear to god." Shania started balling her fist.
"Enough!" I growled stepping in between them. "Come on Julie, we're gonna be late." I pulled on her hand.
"We're coming too!" Shania yelled.
"Like hell you are." I growled slamming the door in her face.
The car ride there was kind of silent besides the music in the background playing. She didn't say anything about what caused Shania to get in her face, or anything actually. It was starting to worry me. When we got there I didn't move. I just stared at my steering wheel.
"Mandi?" She questioned.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"That's what I should be asking you." She giggled.
"You didn't say anything on the way here…" I mumbled.
"I'm sorry." She frowned.
"Was it because of me, or Shania?"
"No…" She giggled. "Truthfully it's because I am nervous."
"Oh…" I sighed.
"Ladies!" I turned my head to see Wesley walking towards us without a shirt on.
"Oh my god." Julie and I said at the same time causing us to look at each other and laugh. He opened my door for me and as I was getting out my foot got stuck causing me fall right into his arms. We both stumbled to the ground. As I tried to push myself up I realized my hands rested on his chest. My cheeks started warming up quickly. He grabbed my wrist as he sat up, his face got close to mine.
"Do you like what you see?" He whispered in my ear, obviously trying to tease me. Which obviously was working because I felt my face heating up more. That's when I felt Julie grab my arm helping me up.
"Wesley this is Julie…" I mumbled trying to collect my thoughts.
"Nice to meet you." He smiled at her as he stood up.
"Wesley what is taking so long?" We turned our heads to see Keaton at the front door. When he noticed us he ran over to us. "This is who you invited?"
"Nice to see you again Keaton." I smiled at him.
"Like wise." He smiled at me. "Who's your beautiful friend? She wasn't at the block party with you…"
"This is Julie, her grandparents actually owned the house we're staying at." I stated.
"Do you plan on taking it then?" He asked her.
"I haven't really thought about it to be honest…" She blushed.
"Well you got time so don't worry about it." Wesley assured her as we walked inside the house. We didn't stay inside however. We went outside to the pool.
"Wesley…" I groaned.
"What?" He smirked.
"You didn't tell me this was a pool party."
"What's your point?" He questioned.
"We don't have bathing suits." Julie said.
"Here you go ladies." Spencer said behind us handing me a bag. I looked inside the bag to find two bathing suits. Just as I was about to say there was no way these could be our sizes I noticed that they were. My mouth dropped open as I stared at the size.
"Whoa." Julia mumbled before looking at me.
I was still in disbelief but I followed them as they lead the way to the bathroom. Julia and I decided to change at the same time to save time. When we got done we headed back outside to see the guys laughing near the pool. I smiled deviously, I handed Julia my clothes before running over and pushing Wesley into the pool. Julia and the others started laughing.
"I'm gonna get you for that.." He huffed pushing his wet hair back.
"I'm so not scared." I teased.
I shouldn't have said that because he jumped up and pulled me into the pool with him. The water engulfed my body, I pulled myself up above the water just to see Drew outside now. At first I was okay with it until I saw Shania behind him clinging to his arm. I turned my head to look back at Wesley.
"I thought you didn't want her here…" I whispered.
"I don't." He said with an angry look in his eyes. He gently pushed past me and got out of the pool. Julia ran over to me and helped me out of the pool. She handed me a towel as my eyes wandered over to Wesley, Shania, and Drew. Shania's face was raging up with anger, so I guess he was telling her that she wasn't welcomed at the party. Drew's face looked flustered as hell.
"If she wasn't such a bitch she might have been cute." Spencer joked.
"Mandy is way pretty than her though." Julia said.
I wasn't paying much attention to what they were saying, I was too busy staring at Wesley and the other two. I tied my long blue hair back into a ponytail before walking over to Wesley. Drew and Shania had walked inside leaving him frustrated.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"She was throwing a fit because you and Julia are here." He rubbed his temples. "Trying to say if you're here that she should be aloud here as well."
"Ha. What did you say?" I rolled my eyes.
"That I didn't like her so she didn't have a reason to be at my party, even if she's dating my best friend."
"D-dating?" I stumbled my words.
"Oh…" He scratched the back of his head nervously.
"Seriously?" Julia said walking up with irritation in her voice. "That chick is lower than scum."
"Are you gonna be okay Mandy…?" Spencer asked nervously.
"Yeah I'm fine." I smiled half heartedly.
"Good." Wesley smirked picking me up and then jumping into the pool. I clung to him desperately. When we came back up to the surface he was laughing at me as I gasped for air.
"You're an asshole." I glared at him.
"You're really light you know that?" He teased. "And you have some killer beautiful eyes."
I blushed a bit as he sat me on the edge of the pool. Julia sat down next to me laughing at me, so I decided to push her in. She no longer thought it was funny but I did. The rest of the party went by pretty smoothly, when everyone left that's when the real fun began though.

"Here you go." Spencer smiled handing me a drink. I took a sip and my stomach felt warm.
"This is so good." I swooned downing the rest of it.
"Jeez don't drink it so fast!" Keaton warned.
"Why?" Julia asked nervously.
"Because there is alcohol in it…" Spencer mumbled.
"Oh…" Julia stared at her empty glass. I grinned at her smugly before grabbing it and turning towards Spencer.
"More please." I said with the smile still on my lips.

*About fifteen drinks later*

"…I never knew love like this…" I muttered. "I never knew a kiss…"
"How are you feeling?" Wesley grinned at me causing me to sit up.
"I feel…"
"You feel?" He mocked.
He frowned.
"Hey Wesley, Julia is passed out on the couch, should we take them home?" Spencer came up asking.
"Do you want to crash here?" Wesley asked.
"If I stayed here I wouldn't hear the end of it at home." I stumbled to my feet.
"So?" Spencer teased.
"So I can't let them win… I can't let her win…" I mumbled, that's when I felt my body falling backwards. Wesley quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me into his arms. Maybe I had a little too much to drink, or maybe it was the smell of his cologne but either way everything went black.
