Jessica Frost: Daughter of a Guardian

Jessica Frost is the half-demon daughter of Jack Frost. She has white hair flowing to the middle of her back, striking blue eyes, and a naughty attitude. When she is chosen as the next Guardian, she is shocked as to why and what Guardian she has been chosen as.

24. Later On

When Jessica woke up in her father's arms, at first she was confused. Then she remembered and got up. She put a blanket over Jack, despite the fact he hated having blankets on top of him, and went into the kitchen, the clock on the wall reading 7:40. It was daylight.

When Jack awoke, he remembered he was in Jessica's house. He got up and the blanket fell off of him. He folded it up and walked around, finding Jessica in the kitchen, making pancakes and waffles and bacon.

"Hey Jess," Jack said to her.

Jessica didn't turn as she said, "Hi Daddy. How are you?"

"I'm okay, kiddo. The question is, are YOU okay? You seem out of it. Like something's bothering you."

Jessica shook her head.

"Are you sure?"

She nodded.

"All right. I'm just making sure. Do you want a hand? You seem really busy, since you're cooking so much. Maybe I could help you."

Jessica shook her head.

"Then I'll watch," Jack said to her. He sat down in the kitchen chair and watched her as she cooked. She never turned towards him once.

"I didn't know you knew how to cook."

"I learned reading books."

"I never thought you'd be interested in that."

Jessica shrugged and kept cooking. Then she said, "Do you ever eat?"

"Sometimes. Not usually. It's not needed."

"Well, you're eating anyway."

Jack told her, "I'm fine with that."

She put a waffle, a pancake, and two pieces of bacon on Jack's plate, and on her own, she had one pancake and one piece of bacon. The rest she left in the pans.

"There's more if you want it," Jessica said as she handed Jack the plate. "I'll get the silverware."

As she turned her back, Jack replied, "Thanks, Jess. You're not hungry, huh?"

She got the silverware and took a bottle of syrup from the cupboard. She laid it down on the table.

After eating, Jessica washed the plate and the silverware and put it into the cupboard next to the glasses. She turned towards Jack. "Do you want milk at all?"

Jack swallowed and shook his head. "No, thanks."

"If you say so."

Once Jack had finished, she asked him, "Do you want more? If not, I'll put it into the refrigerator for later."

Jack shook his head. "No, thanks, Jess. I won't have any more." He cleared his throat. "So what do you want to do?"

Without saying a word, Jessica pulled up a chair beside him and sat down, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Spend time with you."

Jack put an arm around her and they stayed there for about 5 minutes. Then Jack whispered, "Want to have a snowball fight?"

Jessica looked up at him, and before you could say "Jack Robinson" she threw a snowball at him and ran off.

Jack rubbed the snow off his face and laughed. "I'm going to get you for that one, Jess!"

"No, you aren't," a voice said behind him. He looked behind him and saw Pitch.

"I need to talk with you. Now," Pitch told him.

"What about?"

"Come with me back to the lair."

"All right. Just let me say goodbye to Jess."

"This is urgent, Jack. NOW."

Jack sighed. "All right."

Then Pitch left and Jack followed. But before he left, he set a note on the table saying why he'd left.

"I'm coming!"

Jack was gone.
