Emily Black and The Sorcerers Stone

Emily Black was her name, her birth name, but due to her family’s ‘issues’, she didn’t keep her second name. So to everyone else she was Emily May Morris, she hated the name of course but you know, with her father in Azkaban as an insane psychopath killer and betrayer of the Potter’s, which in her opinion was ridiculous, she didn’t want anyone to mistreat her, or have The Boy Who Lived to despise her, and it was what her mother wanted for her, when she was alive

5. The Three Headed Dog

Emily had fit in to Gryffindor easily, the warm environment and the people, gosh the people, they were so kind to her, Draco hadn’t bugged her since she moved houses and everyone welcomed her, especially the first years who had seen her epic fly by take of Harry on the quidditch field. Ron and Harry were ecstatic, confused, but ecstatic, Emily never explained to them how it happened, just that their friendship didn’t have to be so darn complicated.

The three of them were walking down the corridor while the ghosts gossiped about Harry’s new found place on the quidditch team, nobody was talking about Emily’s new spot though, if they knew her father though, gosh, the gossip would be awful.

“Have you heard? Harry Potter's the new Gryffindor Seeker. I always knew he’d do well.” Nearly headless Nick said passionately.

“Seeker? But first years never make their house teams! You must be the youngest Quidditch player in” Ron started

“ A century, according to McGonagall.” Harry finished, he noticed Emily’s solemn face and said, “Besides, I'm not the only one, Em made it on the team too, chaser, we’re the luckiest first years in forever”

Fred and George approached and walked along with Ron, Emily and Harry. They didn’t recognise Emily but decided to not say anything; they wanted to appear funny, not to appear rude.

“Hey, well done, Harry, Wood's just told us!” Fred declared

“Fred and George are on the team, too. Beaters.” Stated Ron.

“Our job is to make sure that you don't get bloodied up too bad. Can't make any promises, of course. Rough game, Quidditch.” George expressed

“Brutal. But no one's died in years. Someone will vanish occasionally...” Fred joked

They broke off from the group, who walk across a courtyard.

“But they'll turn up in a month or two!!” George bellowed

The two had clearly terrified Harry, Ron saw this and you could almost see the disappointment sink on to his face, Harry undoubtedly didn’t want to do it or was too scared to even try.

“Oh, go on, Harry, Quidditch is great. Best game there is! And you'll be great, too!” Ron pleaded

As they passed Hermione, she jumped up from her work and came to join them, walking alongside the three. Emily wanted to say something, but didn’t, she could’ve made a whole scene right there and then, but didn’t, for Harry’s sake.

“But I've never even played Quidditch. What if I make a fool of myself?”  Harry asked defeated

“You won't make a fool of yourself. It's in your blood.” Hermione stated

The four approached a trophy case. Hermione pointed at a plaque of Quidditch players. One lists Harry's father as a Seeker. Another listed Sirius as a beater, Emily felt herself shake, it was a good thing there were already two beaters on the team, because something compelled Emily to be a beater, but now, she never could, knowing that her father took that position would’ve completely put her off on the pitch.

“Whoa. Harry, you never told me your father was a Seeker, too.” Ron said shocked

“I-I didn't know.” Harry replied even more stunned, “What about your dad Em?”

“No, he’s not here” Emily replied.

“Are you sure, with that take it must be in your blood somewhere, what about your mum?” Harry asked again.

“She’s not there either”

“Are you sure?”

“I'm sure, just stop asking”

“Oh, ok, sorry”

“No, no, I'm sorry, talking about them hurts you know?”

“All too well”

The two made up and walked back to the common room, the four started to walk up a staircase. A railing pulled in...Hermione looked, but continued to walk.

“I'm telling you, it's spooky. She knows more about you than you do.” Ron whispered

“Who doesn't?” Harry replied tiredly.

“Me” Emily responded

They laughed. The staircase shuddered and began to move. The four of them grabbed the railings. Ron screamed and Hermione gasped, not in a scared way, just a shocked way.

“What's happening?” Harry asked perplexed

“The staircases change, remember?” Hermione replied sarcastically

The staircase stopped, in a new place.

“Let's go this way.” Harry said as he tapped Ron on the shoulder

“Before the staircase moves again.” Ron said shaking.

{They all open a door and walked into a spooky, dim room.

“Does anyone feel like...we shouldn't be here?” Harry questioned

“We're not supposed to be here. This is the 3rd floor. It's forbidden.” Emily replied, recalling the words that Dumbledore said on the first day.

Suddenly, a flame lit on a tall stone support. At that moment, the caretaker's cat, Mrs Norris, came running in and meowed. The group jumped.

“Let's go.” Hermione said angrily

“It's Filch's cat!” Emily said spooked

The four of them ran down the dim hallway instead of away from it. Flames are lit as they go. They get to the end of the corridor, to a door. Harry goes to grab the handle and open it, but it's locked.

“It's locked!” Harry yells in a whisper

“That's it, we're done for!” Ron yelled absolutely terrified

“Oh, move over! Alohomora.” Hermione chanted and the door opened. “Get in.”

The two terrified boy bustled in followed by the less terrified girls

“Alohomora?” Ro asked

“Standard book of spells, Chapter 7.” Hermione said proudly

Filch appeared at the start of the corridor with a light. Mrs. Norris looked at him.

“Anyone here, my sweet?  Come on.” Filch purred croakily

“Filch is gone.” Harry whispered

“Probably thinks this door's locked.” Ron smirked

“It was locked.” Emily groaned

“And for good reason.” Harry and Emily whispered, quivering slightly.

Ron and Hermione turn to stand with Harry and Emily. There was a massively huge three headed dog sleeping in front of them. The dog, began to wake. It growled, yawned, and growled more... as it noticed the intruders.

The four bolted, running out of the door. They turned quickly to shut the door and battled against the dog. They somehow manage to get the door shut and ran down the hall without bringing any attention to themselves.

They ran to one place they could, back to the Gryffindor common room, they were completely out of breath. Hermione looked confused on why Emily was still in the room with them, she scanned Emily, only to realise that her Slytherin badge had changed to Gryffindor, and of course she felt so utterly stupid for not noticing it in the first place.

“What do they think they're doing?? Keeping a thing like that locked up in a school.” Ron Screeched

“You don't use your eyes, do you? Didn't you see what it was standing on?” Hermione moaned.

“I wasn't looking at its feet! I was a bit preoccupied with its heads. Or maybe you didn't notice, there were three!”

They began to climb the stairs to the dorms.

“It was standing on a trap door. Which means it was definitely there on purpose. It's guarding something.” Emily replied

“Guarding something?” Harry asked confused.

“That's right. Now, if you two don't mind, I'm going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed...or worse, expelled!” Hermione yelled.

Hermione turned and left, slamming the door to the female dorms behind her, Emily was angry at this as she didn’t even have the decency to let her into the dorms.

“She needs to sort out her priorities!” Emily said, opening the door to her dorms

Harry nodded and Ron held in a laugh.
