20. n i n t e e n

As I'm driving to Ashton's place, My vision is blurry from the tears that continue to fall. I don't understand why that was so hard to do. We weren't even dating and nothing serious happened between us. So why does it feel like I just got punched in the chest and I can't breathe? My phone goes off, breaking my train of thoughts. I quickly wipe my tears and clear my throat so it doesn't sound like I was just crying.

"Uh, hello?"

"Hey, man. Where are you?" It's Calum.

"I'm on my way right now. I'll be there in a few minutes."

"Is everything alright? You sound weird."

"Yeah, I'm fine. Get everyone in the living room. I have to tell you all something."

"Uh, okay?"

"Thanks." Then I hang up. When I pull up to Ashton's driveway, I check myself in my mirror so there are no tear streaks, or my eyes aren't red. When I think I look alright, I get out and walk up to the door. I step inside and everyone, Calum, Ashton, Arzaylea, Michael and Crystal, my sister, and Calum's sister, even my manager are all gathered in the living room. I walk up to them and they all stop talking and face me.

"What's going on, Luke?" Michael asks.

"I, uh, gotta say something. It might be some bad news." They all look at each other with confused looks.

"I was just with Haiti and we've both decided that it'd be best if she wasn't assigned as our photographer." Everyone starts talking at once. I glance at Arzaylea and she has this stupid grin on her face, but whenever someone would say something to her it'd disappear. I roll my eyes.

"Luke, what do you mean?" Adam, my manager, asks.

"I mean, Haiti isn't going to be hanging out with us anymore. She's not going to be taking photos of us and we'll probably won't see her for a while." I look at Madison and she's crying. Crystal starts rubbing her back.

"Well, why not?" Calum asks. I sigh.

"Because we can't have any more drama." I glance at Arzaylea and she looks down at her lap.

"People are going to stop listening to our music if there's always drama. We can't have fights, we can't cause shit. That wasn't what we wanted. We wanted to make music and show people what we can do." Madison bolts up.

"That's not your decision to make for us, Luke!" She shouts. Then she storms out of the room. I rub my face. Ashton stands up.

"I hate to say it, but Luke's right. Any more drama will cause us to lose our fans and it'll break us apart and I don't want that to happen." Calum nods and so does Michael.

"Well, this just fucking sucks," Michael says. I walk to the kitchen and take a glass from the cabinet. As I'm pouring water, I feel a hand on my back. I look up and it's Arzaylea.

"I'm sorry that she's not going to be hanging out us anymore." I roll my eyes.

"You can cut the bullshit, Arzaylea. Everyone knows you were the only one that didn't like her, and I don't like to point fingers, but you're kind of the reason why she can't be our assigned photographer anymore." She looks down.

"I know, but I'm being for real, Luke. I truly mean it when I say that I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done all that shit. It was petty. It's not like you and Haiti did anything." My face starts to burn, but I keep a straight face.

"She didn't deserve that." I nod and take a sip of my water. No, she didn't.

"So, when are we going to tell the rest about the pregnancy." I almost choke on my water.

"I don't know... Probably not for a while." She frowns.

"Luke, we need to tell them sooner rather than later." I nod and sigh again.

"I know, Arzaylea. Right now, I just want to sleep." I set my glass down and walk back into the living room. Michael was talking to Ashton, Crystal and Mali were on their phones, Adam was standing in a corner talking to someone on his phone, and Calum and Madison were nowhere to be seen.

"Hey guys, I'm gonna head home and get some rest." They all wave goodbye.

"Do you want me to come with you?" Arzaylea asks. I shake my head.

"Nah, I just want to be left alone." She nods.

"Okay. I'll see you later." I walk out and get in my car. I rest my head on the back of my seat. Fuck, this sucks, I think.

Again, this is another short story. I'm just trying to stretch it out because this story is coming to an end...
I'll just leave it as that...
