The Case of the Living Doll

A story of a human-like doll and her owner Undertaker.

11. Final Chapter

(Y/n) scrambled out off the room as it began to sink below the ocean and struggled to right herself as she searched for the Undertaker.

He found her before she could find him and signalled for her to stay low, as he seemed to be in a fight with other people; (y/n) recognised two of them, the Earl and the Butler.

There were others that she didn't know and she wasn't sure if Undertaker was winning or losing.

They didn't get a chance to continue their fight however, when the ship fastened its pace and was close to disappearing completely.

Undertaker swung over to (y/n), his death-scythe still in hand, and grabbed her by the waist, before diving into the ocean with her.

Cold seeped into her skin on contact with the water and shivers instantly overcame her body, but she didn't have time to dwell on it.

She clung to Undertaker and panicked because she didn't know how to swim - Undertaker was the only one that could keep her afloat.

She didn't know how long they had been floating there - perhaps Undertaker had been waiting for the others to be rescued - when Undertaker put away his scythe and then swam to shore; luckily they weren't that far off from the South coast of England.

~~~~ A few days later ~~~~
Days went by as usual after the Campania incident and everything was relatively peaceful at the Undertakers shop, as peaceful as it could be anyway.
(Y/n) sat in her favourite chair, that Undertaker had gotten her, that was placed at the back of the shop away from everything else and was reading a book.
The Undertaker sat at the desk and watched her, a small smile graced his lips, something that had never been seen before.
He recalled that at the beginning, when they first met she was nothing more than a doll, lifeless even, but look at her now; she could talk, move and every trait that made her human had rose to the surface and made her... human.
Undertaker hadn't liked anyone before and didn't understand the feeling, but with (y/n) he wanted to find the answer, together.
One day, maybe, he'll tell her his thoughts and take it from there.
But right now, he wanted to enjoy the time that they spent together and do the things that the Undertaker is known to do.
Hopefully these peaceful days will last...
