The Doctor marries his first wife and they have children...his wife dies...
The Doctor marries River and they have children....River dies

Who will travel all of time and space with the Doctor now? Who will help him raise his children?

2. Hello Again

The wedding takes place on Earth, atop one of the great pyramids of Giza. River wears her hair up and a simple black dress with black lace. The Doctor wears his tweed coat, suspenders and straightens his bowtie. River takes his hands in hers, the engagement ring sparkles on her finger. They gaze into each other’s eyes and gaze up at the stars.
“River are you ready to do this?” She looks back at him and smiles. Her green eyes sparkle in the moonlight.

“Yes, I’m ready. I’m more than ready. I’m marrying…” She doesn’t finish. She blushes and looks down at her feet. He lifts her face back up with his hand under her chin. He leans in and touches her soft delicate and wet lips with his. They pause for breath and she sighs. He takes off his bowtie and begins wrapping it around his hand.

“You’ll wrap your hand around the other end. When we join in the middle, we’ll say each other’s names in our ear and then we’ll be married.” She smiles and starts wrapping the bowtie around her hand.
“Very untraditional…wouldn’t you say?”

“Gallifreyan not Earthen. Earth’s customs are much to dull.” The Doctor replies. The bowtie wraps around both of their hands and they join hands in the middle. River whispers her name in his ear and in return he whispers his. After he’s done they share a passionate kiss.

“River, you must never tell my name. Ever. Do you understand?” She smiles and kisses him again. He takes her hand and slips on a thin silver band, right next to her engagement ring. She slips on a black ring onto his finger.

“I would never tell…Sweetie.” They kiss again. She places her hands on his shoulders and he wraps his arms around her waist. The wind whispers high up in the pyramids and they begin to dance. A soft music begins to play and neither of them question its location. The newlyweds dance until River can dance no more. She leans against his shoulder and he picks her up in his strong arms. She tries to keep her eyes open but can’t. The Doctor carries her back into the TARDIS and into the room they’ve been calling theirs long before tonight. Long before they got married.

River wakes up in bed alone. She’s cold so she gets out and wraps the Doctor’s bathrobe around her, securing a knot at her waste. She walks into the control room and finds the Doctor deep in concentration. He’s thinking about something and River wants to know what. His eyes light up when she walks in and she walks to him. She wraps her arms around his neck and pulls him down for a kiss. She buries her face in his neck and he breathes in the smell of his new wife. The Doctor takes a deep breath and asks River a question that’s she’s always said no too. Maybe she’ll say yes this time.

“River…you know how you always say ‘One psychopath per TARDIS’? River pulls away from him and grips his shoulders…she gazes into his eyes for a glimpse of the future. She already knows what he’ll say next.

“Doctor, I want to stay. But Stormcage…they’ll come for me.” He takes her hand into his and presses it against his beating chest. She feels his hearts. He takes the ring on her finger into his fingers and yet leaves it on her hand.

“River, listen to my hearts…I want this. Why else would I have put a ring on your finger? I love you.” He pulls River in for a kiss and feels her soft supple lips against his. He places his hands on her lower back and pulls her closer. Their two bodies embrace and she squeals as he kisses her with more passion.

“I love you too but I have to leave.” She presses a few buttons on her vortex manipulator and whispers…

“Goodbye Sweetie.” She’s gone with a flash of light and the Doctor is left alone in his TARDIS. He goes up to the TARDIS’ interface and says.

“Looks like it’s just me and you…hey Old Girl…take me someplace to ease my broken heart.” The TARDIS whirrs and her parts start working. She whirrs and spins. Suddenly she stops…the Doctor checks the date and realizes it’s been six months since he’s seen his wife. He opens the door and sees her in her cell, sleeping on her cot.
