2. Life

"So, how was your first day as a full-fledged agent?" Tim asks me, getting a bottle out of the fridge and taking a drink.

"Eh, I mean, it was just like going into work every other day." I say, taking a sip of my own drink.  I set it down on the counter.  "How was the University?"

"Good, " He says, sitting down in a chair, "I got a solo today, man, Ragan, you don't understand how awesome it is to be first chair in college as a freshman!"

"Tim, I'm not in band anymore.  That was just a cover in high school, remember?  I wasn't even good."

"You weren't that horrible-" He starts but I look at him, "Seriously."

"Whatever." I say, walking over to him.

"Man, we haven't seen each other for more than 5 minutes for days now."

"It's nice to actually have a conversation for once."

"Or......" Tim grabs my hands and sits me on his lap.  He pulls me closer and kisses me.  We pull apart and I look at him.

"This works too." I say, and we kiss again.

I still can't believe that I got someone as amazing as Tim.

He's understanding, loyal, compassionate, hilarious, cocky.

He's just Tim.

My Tim.

And I love that.

His hands are in my hair and mine are around his neck, pulling him closer.

Then my ear buzzes, along with the watch on my wrist.

Tim and I break apart and I look at my watch's screen.

It's an incoming call from HQ.

I look at it and look at Tim.

"Work?" He asks, looking at me.  I nod.  "Go ahead, take it." He reluctantly lets me go.

I stand up and press my earpiece.

"Hart." I say.

"We need you, now." Director Jones says.

"Alright.  Where?  How?"

"Sending you coordinates now.  And detective, please."

"Alright.  Ten-four." I hang up and look at Tim.

He sighs and looks at me. "Job?"

I nod.

He sighs again.

"Go ahead." He says.  I mouth a 'thank you' and run to put on some more professional looking clothes.

I grab my bag and keys and head to the door.

Tim opens it for me.

"Don't be too long."

"I'll try." I peck his lips one last time before heading out the door.

That's the only problem with this job.

It basically has taken over my life.
