2. Get Excited.

Stevie's P.O.V

The week went by like a flash, I had so many summative assignments due and received many new assignments. I am already wanting the summer holidays to come. I wish I could be with Bri, she moved schools in the beginning of the year and it's nearly the end. I'm nearly done with this place forever.

As I was walking through the school gates with my friends, about to go get some food from the shopping center, my phone went off. "Sorry guys," I looked at the text, "it's from Bri. Sorry." I read one of the messages, then my phone started going crazy. I received a bombardment of messages from Bri, she was absolutely freaking out. My friends saw my reaction to it all and started to get nosy. I opened my phone and scrolled to the very first message. It read: WDW ARE COMING TO AUSTRALIA!

"Oh my gosh. It's okay guys, Bri isn't dying, there's just this band that's coming to Australia and she is freaking out." I laughed at the thought of her still freaking out.

"You mean Why Don't We?" My friend Max questioned. I nodded at him, and replied to Bri: Are they coming to Adelaide? Then we all continued with the rest of our day.

During the late lunch we had in the food court, we spoke about how our friendship group is kind of strained. I hadn't been able to get it out of my mind the whole bus ride home. I love my friends and year twelve isn't the time to start new friendships at all. After much thinking and self-reviewing, I walked to my house and straight into my mums' room.

"Hey, Stevie! I have something very special for you. Follow me." She said getting up and gesturing with her hands for me to follow her.

She led me into the kitchen and there was a box with a pretty purple bow on the top. I removed the paper and the bow to find a waffle iron underneath. "Oh wow, thank you so much, mum." I embraced her into a loving hug.

"You are most welcome." She rubbed my back. "Are you okay? How was school?" We released from the hug, a massive sigh escaped my mouth.

"Exhausting," I said simply.

"You want to talk about it?"

"No, not this time. I'll be okay, it's just stress that's all."

"Alright, well you know where to find me." She said while walking back to her room, she smiled at me before she turned into the hallway.

I sighed again, then walked into my room. I dropped my bag on the floor and faceplanted onto my bed. I laid there for a few seconds, contemplating on whether or not to clean my room or do my homework. I decided to do neither and go on my phone. Bri had sent me a link, I was confused so I opened it, and she had bought meet and greet tickets for Why Don't We. I was in complete shock, I went onto my messages and see if she had sent me anything else. After all, I did end up ignoring her while we were at lunch because she was constantly texting me. She was saying how they released their Australian tour dates and Adelaide made it on the list.

I ran to my mum and we were both really overwhelmed with the offer, I was saying that I didn't know the band very well, I wasn't too sure I'd enjoy it. However, I couldn't say no to her, she spent a fair bit of money for us to go, and from what I know it's just the two of us. I missed her, it would be amazing if we went to a concert together. I eventually accepted and mentally prepared myself for it.

I called her after texting for a while, "I don't know if I want to listen to their music too much. I want to be surprised."

"That's weird," She replied. "do whatever you want, I hope you're excited though!" she said remarkably fast.

We continued to talk for a while about the band and how we were going to get there. All the nitty-gritty details.

"Ugh, I just want to meet them already. especially Jack!" Bri was practically screaming into the phone.

I giggled at her, "It's getting late, I've got to help mum set up for dinner. Thank you so much for this, I'm so excited!" I said bringing an end to the conversation. We said our goodbyes and hung up. She'd got me more excited than I thought I'd ever been.

Author note:

Thank you for deciding to read the second chapter! I feel as though I am dragging on a bit at this moment, but it is only the beginning. I'll try and pick up the pace in the next chapter. Thank you again!
