Being Human

3. Morning Breakfast

The next morning, after sleeping on the floor in my room, was somewhat quiet. The only one I really heard in my light trance of sleep was Ami making herself breakfast. At this point I kept wondering, where's everyone else? But I could never come up with an answer. I slipped out of my sleeping bag and walked to my closet. Which Ami had also gotten a hold of. My clothes where all thrown on the floor, while Ami's clothes where hanging up nicely. That girl need restrictions, I thought. And I was right. To do this without permission really sets people off. Plus it's R-U-D-E.

But anyways, I scavenged up a casual outfit for the day and dressed into it, slowly. I opened my bedroom door to find Ami holding a plate of large pancakes drowning in syrup. "Just what do think your doing with that?" I asked her. "Uh... I'm gonna eat it...." "Not in here, your not!" Ami stomped her foot and frowned at me, silently cursing me out. "Downstairs with that. Now." I say finally. Ami rolls her eyes and stomps down the stairs and into the kitchen, throwing a chair at the wall and siting in it. The easy thing about telling Ami what to do when she doesn't wanna listen, is that she'll stomp her actions through so you can hear what she's doing.

I chuckle and make my way downstairs too, walking into the kitchen and opening the freezer. I pull out a microwaveable noodle cheese pack. One of my easy favorites. I toss it in the microwave and set it to cook for one minute and thirty seconds. I sat down across from Ami, who was poutingly eating her messy pancakes. I try to find something to say to her to pick up conversation, but nothing comes to mind. I hear the alarm on the  microwave go off and I stand up from the table. I pull out the noodle cheese pack and open it to find my delicious breakfast is ready.

I sit back down at the table and see that Ami is half way done with her pancakes, with a slap of sticky syrup all over her face. I can't help but laugh a little. "What's so funny?" Ami asks. "You've got a little- actually you've got a lot of something on your face." Ami grabs a napkin and tries to clean off the syrup, but when she pulls back the napkin from her face, it rips and stick to the syrup. Then I let out another laugh. Ami just sighs, trying not to laugh with me but I could feel the silly aura from us going around the room.

"Want me to help you with that?" I ask. "Please do." I get up from the table again and grab a towel from one of the cabinets in the kitchen. I get it a little wet and then walk over to Ami's side. "Hold still." I say. I begin to clean off the bits of napkin and syrup on Ami's face and once the towel corner is all sticky I go to the sink and rinse it off.

"There you go." I say. Ami let's out a smile for a moment. But then when the moment is gone she thanks me, puts her empty plate in the sink, grabs her backpack and makes her way to school.
