30. Aftermath

The MCU arrives at the scene minutes after Campbell dies.

The affects of the moonstone had started to wear off, and I could slowly feel myself getting weaker, and remembering my injuries.

Some agents bring me back to Headquarters and fix me up, giving me painkillers and giving me something to wear off the silver.

I'm finally given to 'free to go' and head out.

Director Jones wants to see me tomorrow, one of the agents tells me, and it currently busy with Campbell and evidence right now.

I head home, taking one of the motorbikes so I don't have to walk.

I don't think they'll mind, considering I caught Campbell and finished the job.

They shouldn't right?

Anyway, I make my way home.

I finally reach my building and take the long hike up the stairs to get to my room.

I unlock the door and walk inside, throwing my keys onto the counter top.

I turn around to see Tim sitting on the couch, staring at me.

I have to say, I am honestly shocked to see him here.

"Tim?  What are you doing here?  How did you find my apartment?" I ask.

He stands up, walks over to me, and kisses me.

He pulls back and I stare at him.

"I'm secretly an agent and have been watching your for the past 4 months-" He starts but I interrupt him.

"Damn it, Tim!" He laughs.

"Okay, okay, maybe I asked your 'dad' where you lived." He admits.  I smile at him, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"So, on a scale from 1-OH MY GOD how crazy do you think school is going to be tomorrow when I come in alive?" I ask him.

"Somewhere between WTF and Jesus has worked his miracles here today." I laugh.

"You know, this whole Vanisher thing, this changes everything between us." I say, looking into his eyes.

"How?"

"You know, you're in on the secret.  You can't tell anyone, and, now I've led you into the darkness that is my life.  I don't want you to have carry that burden knowing what I am really am on the inside."

"I know it's a secret, and, trust me, it's no burden.  I mean, how many people can say they've made out with a superhero?" He smiles.

"Seriously, though, I'm sorry, Tim." I look down.  Tim grabs my chin and lifts my eyes to meet his.

"No apologies.  Nothing to be sorry about.  You're awesome, Ragan, and this whole Vanisher thing makes it even more so."

"Thanks." Is all I can say.  He kisses me and then points over to couch.

"Oh, I have pizza, if you're hungry-"

"Oh my gosh I'm starving!" I say, running over to get a piece.

Tim follows me over and we sit there together, eating pizza.

I have to say, one good thing did come out of all of this:

Even though I got revenge on Campbell, I still got something better than all the revenge in the world:

I got Tim.

And, it's official:

The Vanisher is no longer a mystery criminal.

The Vanisher is now a hero.
