Close As Strangers|| Ashton Irwin

Every night I'm losing you in a thousand faces
Now it feels we're as close as strangers

Tears flowed down my cheeks, onto my pillows. Sobs were escaping my mouth, a hiccup every once in a while.

"Kay...Its going to be okay..." Jade said, rubbing her hand up and down my back. "They will be back.. And you can kick his ass."

I smiled, and wiped my eyes. I sat up, and gave her a hug. "Thanks... I just don't understand why he would do this..."

Jade shrugged. "He'll come around soon enough."

She left the room, and I slowly picked myself up off the bed, and headed to my bathroom. I sighed, looking in the mirror. My makeup was smeared, and the tears had stained my cheeks. I turned to the shower, and turned on the hot water, and plugged the drain.

That's what I need...a hot bath.

I grabbed a bath bomb from the cabinet, and dropped in down in the tub. I turned back to the mirror, and wiped all the makeup off. I looked at my reflection in the slightly stained mirror.

Am I not good enough for him?

Once the tub filled up, I turned off the water, and stripped down to nothing. I stepped in the water, and sank down to the bottom. Relief flooded my body as the warmness relaxed my tense muscles.

After soaking in the water for a while, it started to get cold. I unplugged the drain, and watched as the water swirled down. I stepped out of the tub, and wrapped my towel around me. I went into my bedroom, and opened my closet door. I picked threw and found the best dress for me to wear.

I need to get him out of my mind...

I found the perfect dress, and set it aside so I could do my hair. I plugged in my curling wand, and let it warm up. After I heard the beep, I quickly but efficiently curled my average length hair. I then put the dress on. Once I applied some makeup, I was ready. I was actually satisfied with myself.

I stepped out in the hallway, and walked to Jade's bedroom. "I'm going out.. Wanna come with?"

"Yeah, just let me get ready..." She said, and quickly got dressed.

"I texted Ry, and she's going to meet us down there."

There's a popular club right on the outside of the city that doesn't card you. So, Rylie and Jade could get in. Jade just turned twenty, and Ry is about to do the same. I will personally turn twenty-one in a few months, so it isn't that big of a deal.

We walked outside, and got into my car, and we were off.

The club was packed. Sweaty people grinded on each other on the dance floor, and people were drunkenly walking towards different rooms to hook-up.

I walked up to the bar,  and ordered a round of shots for the three of us. The guy gave me the small tray of vodka shots, and I went over to the small table in the corner where the other girls sat.

We each grabbed a glass. "To start forgetting.." I mumbled under my breath. I threw my head back, and felt the liquor slid down my throat with a small burn. I grabbed another glass and did the same. And another. And another.

I walked back to the bar, ordering whatever bad he most alcohol in it. I don't quite remember how much I drank, but I know I was drunk off my ass. I drank until he was no longer real.

"Hey, beautiful.." I heard from behind me.  Smirking, I turned around. "What's your name? I'm Matt."

"Kayla.." I said, finishing the glass in my hand.

"What's a girl like you doing here by herself?"

"Dance with me, and I won't be." I giggled, grabbing his hand, and pulled him to the dance floor.

His hands fell to my hips, and the familiar feeling of Ashton's hands came to me. I pushed it to the back of my mind and danced with him. He turned me around, and I danced on him. I felt him grow a little in his lower region, and with that, I went faster. His hands ran up and down my body. They went to my ass, and I felt a light squeeze.

"Let's get out of here?" He pulled me out the door, and into the parking lot. His lips crashed onto mine, and then to my neck.

"Woah, woah!" A pair of hands pushed us apart. "Get  out of here!" They pushed Matt away. By then, my vision wasn't blurred and I could tell it was Rylie who pushed him away.

Jade walked up to us. "You can't just go around, kissing strangers and pretending that it's him..."

A tear escaped my eye, "I know... I can't help it. I want him... I need him.. Only him. I thought that going out and getting drunk would help."

Sympathetic looks filled their faces. "Let's go home, get you sobered up, and we'll just have a girls night.. Okay?" Rylie suggested.

I nodded. "Yeah..I'd  like that.."
