The Little Blue Book

2. The Leave In Me

The leaves fall;

Floating timelessly down to the worn path before me;
Splotched and splattered through the woods;
colors of reds, oranges, and yellows;
I walk through the wood;
Down that pathetic path;
My steps as the beat;
Birds as the melody,
The leaves as my dancers;
Swaying along with the wind.

Sun on my back,
An open path;
I wander aimlessly;
Past the weeping willow;

Past the oak;
to the road home.
The tree’s wave goodbye;
All the bird’s cry;
For I am gone bye.
