2. Chapter 2

All night I couldn't stop thinking of my best friend. He didn't deserve that beating. "Hey Stacy, we're going to the store. Wanna come?" My dad asked.

"Yeah, only because I'm bored," so I got into my shorts and tank top and we left. Once we got to the store, I walked in, looked around, and wandered off. I hollered back at my parents to tell them that I'll be around before I completely disappeared into the store. I went to the back near the clothes and suddenly bumped into a boy. I glanced up apologetically and couldn't believe my eyes.

"Ron! You're here. Oh my, I've missed you," I said, surprised as I gave him a giant hug. "What are you doing here?"

"Shopping and getting away from my parents. God. I walked here just to get away."

"Oh geese, I'm sorry. What did they do?" I asked, hoping I wasn't bugging him.

"It's just...they were annoying me and I needed a breather," he smiled at me.

I looked at him and returned a smile the best I could. I was still riled up from earlier that day. I didn't want him to see the hurt in my eyes so I hid it as best as I could. We walked off towards the frozen foods section. As soon as we got close enough I started getting chills, so I showed that I was cold and closed the gap between us. He removed his jacket and put it around me.

Since he was so much taller than I was, I had to look up at him and he had to look down. We stared into each others' eyes. I was still quite cold even with his jacket on, so I just kept getting closer to him. His brown eyes were gorgeous and I didn't want to look away.

I had seen it coming. He stared into my eyes, then at my lips, and he bit his.

Oh boy! It's happening. He's going to kiss me.

He leaned as near as we have ever been and closed his eyes. The very moment I closed my eyes, I felt his lips touch mine. God he had such soft lips. He was so gentle as he held me. It felt like an eternity before he moved away.

"Ron." I whispered in his ear. "I've never felt this way before. Wow."

Too bad we couldn't of stayed in that position just a bit longer; my parents came around the corner at that point. "Dang it," I whispered.

Ron just smiled at me, but when my parents gave me a "what the hell" look I knew I was in some kind of trouble. "Hey mum, dad, this is Ron. Ron this is my parents, John and Cassidy."

"Shut up, Stacy. You know you're in trouble for leaving without telling us, and we don't even know this guy!"

"Okay for one, he's in my class and we ran into each other in the clothes section. Secondly, I told you that I was going off as soon as we got into the store, so don't yell at me just because a boy is here."

Ron leaned down and whispered in my ear, "I don't want to get you into trouble; I'll go."

"No, you can stay - it's them that should go! They're the ones stalking me. They do it every time we go into a store. Just stay. They'll forget this by the time we get home anyways," I whispered back. So, whilst my parents weren't looking our way, Ron and I made a run for it.

"Oh my God, I can't believe we just did that! That was great!" Somehow we ended up in the baby section, which is on the other side of the store. We looked at each other and just laughed. "See you Tuesday, Ron," we kissed goodbye. and then he left.
