To everyone I'm perfect... please don't let them see behind the curtain... I'm full of scars...

Everyone thought that she had it all. She wasn't rich or was perfect but from the stories, she was happy. She was on her way to making something of her life...

But it was all show. Was she truly happy? On the outside it was something and on the inside it was something else completely. What was true and what wasn't no one knew?

Things start to fall apart when Gabriella vanishes into thin air without a trace and is never to be found...

What mysteries did she hide and who is to blame? What happened to Gabriella Lane?

2. Two

Gabriella stood outside her house in the dark. She could see inside the lights. She couldn’t make herself to take the step go in. She looked around at the empty street and the cold air blew on her. A smile tear ran down her cheek.

Why was she crying? There was nothing left to feel sorry about? She looked at the time again (7:49pm) and yet there was still no missed called or message on there. What was she hoping for? Did she actually think that there would have been a call or message from her parents or even her sister?

Finally, no option but to go in, she made her way up the walkway. The porch lights turned on and she heard voices inside. By the sounds of it, it was her parents talking about the guest list for her sister’s wedding. Something inside Gabriella broke as it hit her that they were once again so busy with her sister that they had forgotten about her… again.

She opened the door and walked. Her parents didn’t even look up at her as she rolled her eyes and went upstairs to her room. As soon as she entered her room, she couldn’t hold herself any longer. She put down her bag and without any warning, hot tears ran down her face. She couldn’t stop the tears anymore. Suddenly she couldn’t even breath. She was finding it out to suck in air and she felt like she was chocking. She tried to calm herself down… She kept repeating one thing which helped…

“If you going through Hell… Keep going…”

She opened her eyes and her breathing slowed down but she still couldn’t control the tears. At first, she didn’t even know why she was crying? Why did it even surprise her that she was once again second to her sister. Why did she always forget that no one even cared enough about her to even realise that she was even there.

Gabriella came down the stairs to eat but looking around she found no left over.

“Mum, what’s for dinner?” she asked in a small voice.

“Oh, since your sister had afternoon shift, you father and I went out for dinner. I thought you might eat out as well. Eat whatever is there,” answered her Natalie as she gathered her stuff and went upstairs.

Gabriella was now left alone in the kitchen. She looked around for anything to eat but found nothing that would take less time to cook. Finally, she took some toast and had that.

She said nothing else… She had nothing else to say or do… She was tired of fighting this silent battle… Was there even a point to this all?

“So come on, did you ask them? We need to start looking at what we are going to take. By the amount of people who have confirmed, we are thinking of hiring a small mini-van,” said Laurel happily.

Gabriella was half listening to her and she was still half in her own land. She had tried to ask her mum about this trip but she was too busy last night and she with all that happened, she was too upset to talk to her.

“Yes, after thinking about it she said that I should go. She said that I deserve some fun and I should enjoy myself,” lied Gabriella.

She knew that she was going to regret this but at that point she really didn’t care. She was over always putting others before her and she was over sitting around the house always listening to them talk about her sister and her wedding. No one truly cared what she thought or wanted.

Once again, all day she walked around and went to class with her friends with a huge smile on her face. For once even deep down she wasn’t upset or worried. She truly at that moment was enjoying herself with her friends. This was about her and not about her sister… or her parents… but her.

“Riley called and said that your wedding dress will be coming in tomorrow. She wanted you to come in and check for the fitting,” said Natalie.

“Yay… thank God for that. Last time I called she said it would take longer as they had an issue with something there,” cheered Holly Lane. “Gabriella, you are coming with me tomorrow. We need to pick a maid of honour dress for you too.”

“Well whatever fits her there. You may need to make her dress custom made as well since last time no dress fit her at the store or whatever fit her didn’t look good,” said Natalie. “I told her to lose weight for this wedding. A lot of family are coming and yet nothing,” Natalie shook her head.

Gabriella stopped eating and held back the tear that was building up in her eyes. Again, this shouldn’t have been anything new for her yet still it hurt her. She choked back the mouthful of rice that she was eating.

Natalie and Holly started talking and taking this opportunity, Gabriella got up and threw out the food that was left on her plate. She couldn’t sit there eating when what her mother had said kept hitting her like knives. Excusing herself she went back to her room.

Once again alone in her room she looked around hoping for an answer to all her problems. There was a pain in her chest that she couldn’t explain. She wanted to scream but she no longer had the energy to. She curled up in a ball on her bed and kept running the events of today and yesterday over and over her head.

Night went on and she sat in the corner of her bed in a ball. Warm tears falling from her eyes. Nothing felt fine and nothing even remotely made her smile. She felt pathetic siting there.

Then a thought crossed her mind. A thought that wasn’t abnormal. A thought that she constantly had. A thought that she wished every morning… every night would come true. A thought that she never wanted to admit to anyone yet she always had. A thought that was so horrific that she wished would come true.

She wished that she never woke up next morning… She wished that she never got to see the next day… That this was the final time that she sat her on her bed crying herself to sleep.
