SCENE 2

 

LARRY FINISHES THE DREGS OF HIS LAST PINT AND PLACES THE NEWLY POURED ONE ON THE BEER MAT.

 

LARRY:

‘Rrright wwhoo’s for a game of ccards tthen?

 

ALAN JONES THE CLUBS TREASURER WHO IS SITTING AT THE TABLE NEAR THE BAR READING “THE SUN NEWSPAPER” LOOKS UP.

 

ALAN:

‘Go on then Larry, I’ll give you a game.’

 

DICK MARSHALL COMES AROUND FROM HIS SIDE OF THE BAR AND SITS DOWN. THEN IAN PORTERFIELD WHO HAS BEEN SITTING NEAR THE TELEVISION.

 

DICK:

‘How much we playing for Larry?

 

LARRY:

‘Fffity pppence a game aand ttten ppence a hole.’

 

IAN:

‘Are we playing “CRASH?

 

DICK:

‘Don’t be pedantic Ian; you know what we play here.’

 

CUT TO:

 

ALAN WALKS OVER TO THE DOORWAY WHERE THERE IS A CUPBOARD WHICH KEEPS THE PEG BOARDS, CARDS, AND DOMINOES. HE PICKS UP A BOARD WITH FOUR PEGS INSIDE THEN WALKS BACKTO THE TABLE AND SITS DOWN AGAIN.

 

LARRY:

‘I wwwill deal fffirst.’

 

PICKING UP THE PACK OF CARDS, HE TAKES THE CARDS OUT OF THE PACKET THEN BEGINS TO SHUFFLE THE PACK.
