5. Chapter 5- The Long Days Alone.

Eli's (P.O.V.)

I stumble into the front door as I walk in and see my mother wide eyed with the phone in her hands, sitting on the couch. Tears clouding her eyes as they fell from her face to the ground being absorbed by the carpet, only leaving more room for the tears to fill.

I run over to my mother and wrap my arms around her as tightly as I can, only to be pushed to the ground. I could see the regret in her eyes as I sat on the floor, her body shivering from both crying and seeing me on the ground, trying to register what happened. I use this moment of hesitation to wrap my arms around her even tighter than I thought humanly possible. Feeling the body that I was holding, hearing her screaming and crying, I just wondered what could have made her this way.

When my mother finally stops crying, I let go of my grip, and let her out of my grasp. She leans back and I could still see tears coming down her cheeks. She starts blubbering about how she should have never let my father go any farther without knowing what happens.

"Wait what do you mean, what does dad do, he never tells me what he does for work?" I say worried.

She continues blubbering about how father should have never took the job no matter what, or how he hurts people. That last thing struck me a little. Sure my father is a tall, sort of bulky man but he would never even hurt a fly. He's a nice man and he even volunteers at homeless shelters. I can't even think of my father that way.

When she finally stops and looks at me she notices the scared look I have in my face. She leans in and gives me a hug, this scares me even more because she never does stuff like this. Letting go of her grasp she stops right t my ear and whispers something.

"Father is in the hospital."

My heart instantly starts to break and shatter, thinking of all the ways he could have gotten hurt so badly that my mother was acting this way. As fast I can, I grab my mothers hand and keys. I drag her all the way to the car, by then she gets what's happening, she gets in and starts the car.

It only takes 30 minutes to get there. Its a big building with big bold letters that spelled " California Grace Hospital." I rush into the building and run straight past everyone else, to the front desk. I can feel everyone's eyes on me, either from what I just did or from the blog by my doctor's daughter. She's the who told everyone that I had powers.

"May I help you." The nurse says not even looking up.

"Yes." I say frantically "Is my dad here, Norman Eath."

"Um let me check." Again not even bothering to look up.

She begins typing some stuff in the computer, finally looking up she says. "Your father is ok he just got out of surgery, you can see him if you want." When she finishes saying that, I can tell she finally notices who I am. Her eyes wide open.

I ignore her. "Very much please."

We enter the room, seeing my dad hooked up to all these machines making noises that kind of scare me. Thinking of all the ways they could malfunction and end his life. Making tears roll down my cheeks. As my mother talked to the doctor, I heard nothing but the sound of my tears hitting the floor. Each tear sounding like an explosion.

I run over to my dad and grab a hold of his hand. I close my eyes and wanting to never let go, I hear something going off, its one of the machines. I open my eyes and see that my doctors face in surprise but blank at the same time.

"How." He says.i

"How what?" I say concerned.

"Your dad is waking up." He says.

Then I feel something grab my arm and I see that's its my dad.

"Hey kiddo." I almost start crying again.

"But how?" My mom asks. "Didn't you say it'll take a week until that happens?"

"I honestly don't know." Is all he says, before he walks out the room.

"Dad." Is all I can say. "Dad."

Tears still running down my cheeks, he brings his arm to my face and wipes away a tear.
