1. Chapter 1

I watch as the rain falls down the car window and the cars driving by quickly on the interstate. We were only in Nevada, which meant a lot more hours till we arrive in Los Angeles. A.K.A, my new home. I look over at my parents smiling wide talking about the new life were going to have. I miss Illinois.

I wake up to my mom pulling my earbuds out my ear. "Chelsea, we're here." she smiles and walks away to the house. I rub my eyes and get out of the car stretching. I turn around and when I see the house, my eyes widen.

It was huge. Like, if you had about 5 kids huge. I grab some boxes and head inside. "Mom, Dad, why do we have such a big house?" I ask setting the boxes down in the empty, most likely, living room. "Well, we wanted something different and we can afford it." my mom says rubbing her hands on her shorts from all the dust. "Um, okay. Do I get the biggest room?" I ask knowing they promised I would. "Second biggest." my dad corrects me and leads me up the stairs.

As we walk up the stairs and my dad pulls me into a room, I smile for the first time. It was definitely big with a walk in closet and a balcony. "Thanks." I say hugging him. "No problem, just get unpacking." he smiles and walks downstairs. Sure, I hated living here in this state, but this room was amazing.

I think the balcony is my new favorite place. I can do a lot of thinking out here. "Knock knock." my mom says coming outside with me. "Hey." I say sitting up. "I brought pizza." she smiles handing me the paper plate. "Thanks." I say. She nods and begins to walk out.

"Wait, mom." I say before she left. "Yes?" she says and sits next to me on another chair. "Sorry that I've been rude lately." I say looking down at my feet. "Awe, honey. I know this is just hard for you to move like that. I completely understand, and if you ever want to talk, we can." she says hugging me. I nod. "No going back now." I say and she agrees.

I was just listening to music when I hear people talking and laughing from across the street. I get up and head to the edge of the balcony. As I look over I see a few people walk out of the house next door. Looked like five guys and two girls. All of them were laughing and talking, except one person. I look at him and his expression. Sadness. I sit back down and ignore them.
