1. Distances

The distances between us,

Are no reason to make a fuss.

Sometimes they will shrink, sometimes they will grow,

When you yourself don’t know.

Where you’ll end up or where you’ll be,

Think of all the things that you’ll see.

From here to there and everywhere,

If only you would dare.

To go out and explore,

And see an endless shore.

Look out to the sea,

And surely you will see.

That should you choose to stay put,

Not venture forth or set foot.

Stay in your home and put up walls,

Your world would become bleak and small.

Never be afraid,

To go boldly into the fray.

To see what lies beyond,

And across your own front lawn.
