Ghost Notes

"But how can you ever go back to living a life that no longer exists? Home is everchanging and nothing remains. I wander like a ghost, leaving notes for the ones I've lost along the way." | A collection of poems, prose, and notes written by Harry as he found himself far from the place he once called home.

Words muted before they even hit paper,

this is what writting to you feels like.

It's a pointless exercise,

one that I do day in and out,

even though I know that the result will never change.

You were home, we were home.

There were grassy knolls and days that smelled of rain.

Your wool jumper on the chair and my muddy shoes by the door.

The knolls remain and the smell of rain permeates everything,

but the jumper is too small now and the shoes fell apart

and the house we made a home has been sold.

You always told me I would have a home when I came back.

Everyone did.

But how can you ever go back to living a life that no longer exists?

Home is everchanging and nothing remains.

I wander like a ghost, leaving notes for the ones I've lost along the way.
