16. Every Step You Take

To be fair, it wasn’t really a monster. It was what Charlie called a Hybrucoli, a form of animal not quite a hybrid, not quite a full animal.

It was a Wampus, a six-legged, five-foot tall cat that grew up to six feet tall. The only weird thing about it was that it had two wings. Huge, feathery black wings, that could probably knock a grown man out. The other unusual thing about it was its patterning.

A bushy black tail want too uncommon, but a black Wampus was u heard of. The cat itself was black, with faint silver-blue markings on its back. Its eyes were the exact same as the girl’s – one dark, navy-royale blue, one light, icy silver blue rimmed in black. The pupils weren’t cat-eyed– in fact, they were startlingly close to a human’s gaze.

The girl herself had long, butt-length icy blond-white hair, with beautifully upturned eyes. She had a strong nose and full lips, with high cheekbones and a sharp jawline. Her lashes were thick and black, her skin was the color of snow washed with the rosy brightness of dawn, and her lips were dark, blackberry-stained, almost. Her eyebrows were high and arcing, and she had curves in all the right places.

Her legs were fantastic, and her entire body was toned as fuck. The only imperfection on her entire face was a scar the traced from her hairline, arcing over her cheekbone, dodging her eye and ending at her chin. It was a small, raised white line, and the imperfection of it only served to make her more beautiful.
