Grace doesn't have any memories of her past life, but when she's helping Evan, she feels a feeling she's never felt before, and then Evan becomes the only part of Grace's past life she remembers. will their separation bring them closer together?

20. After her

Evan P.O.V

I stood there stunned, staring at the spot she was just standing at. Just as I began processing what happened, my phone rang. I forgot about Lewis.

"Oh my god Evan you have to hu-" He began saying the script we had come up with.

"It's fine." I said quickly. "I told her I didn't want to be with her."

"She annoyed you that much?" He laughed.

"Something like that..." I said.

"Huh?" He asked.

"Nothing..." I said.

"Are you ok?" he questioned.

I had felt like a piece missing was in place. Sure she was dead... but she remembered me, and she in a way is still alive. Guilt and regret left me. I smiled.

"Never been better."

That evening I jumped on my bike and road over to the town's graveyard. I climbed up the hill and searched over the stones. At last, my eyes settled on Grace's. I sat by it and thought. I'd known her for so long, and seeing her leave our world was the most painful moment I have and ever will feel. I glanced at the other graves, and noticed how some of them had sticky notes on the gravestone with words. I walked around. Some said "beauty," others were "loved," most of them were just one word describing the person. I thought about what to write for Grace, then saw a couple at a stone about 30 feet away. They had a pad of sticky notes, and were wrtiting something. I went up to them and asked for one.

"Sure!" The man said. "Who are you writing one for?" I paused.

"My best friend." I answered.

"Ahh..." He nodded, probably regretting he asked.

"I'm sorry for your loss..." the woman said.

"Thanks..." I smiled. "What about you?"

"My cousin." The woman replied.

"Oh," I said. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be!" She smiled. "We weren't that close... we often fought at family reunions. She died about two months ago. She'll be missed..." I thanked them for the paper and hurried back to Grace's stone. I thought about what I should say, and what they had said. I smiled as I got an idea. I quickly wrote down my note, stuck it on the stone and picked up my bike. I took one last glance at my note and smiled as I turned away. Missed.

A/N: Wooooo!!!! Finally finished my first normal length story on Movellas! I'm sorry that some of the chapters are very short, but I didn't want to start a ton of different plots and have to end all of them while trying to make sense, because that would have been verrrrrrry confusing. I hope you enjoyed this story, and yes, it seemed confusing in the story, the word that he wrote on the sticky note was indeed "missed." Anywayyyy... until next time!

XOXO, Ilyushka
