Stay - HS

Alexia Roberts was just a normal British girl. 22 years old, working at a Starbucks in London. She had a perfectly boring future planned out before Harry Styles showed up and made it flawed, but also fun. When the end finally comes, it all depends on Alexia. Will she choose to stay or go?

6. Chapter 6

Harry's POV

I woke up the next morning next to Alexia. I looked at the time. 7:45 am. I debated waking Alexia up, but then decided against it. She was sleeping so peacefully. I stroked her hair and just admired how amazing she was.

The door to her room opened and Meghan barged in. Her face had a goofy, wide grin.

"ALEXIAAAA!" She screamed. Then she saw me.

"Whatcha smiling about?" I asked out of curiosity.

Alexia groaned and rubbed her eyes.

"Jason, my new boyfriend, wants me to move in with him! Don't tell Lex, I want to be the one to tell her. Anyways, I should probably go before she gets mad at me. She doesn't take well to people waking her up. Bye." Meghan ran back out the door, not giving me a chance to respond.

"I really, really dislike her sometimes." Alexia grunted. She obviously didn't hear the first part of what Meghan said to me.

"Good morning!" I chirped.

"Bad morning."

"You're not a morning person?"

"I love the mornings!"

"Then you're crazy."

"Aren't we all?"

"Stop being wise."

"Can't help it. I'm just born awesome."

"Don't boost your ego. Welp, I'm awake now anyways. Might as well get up."

She stood up.

"Meghan and I use the third room as a closet," She said. "This would be the time for you to get dressed."

"What if I don't want to get dressed?"

"I'll make you."

"And how would you do that?"

"I'd find a way."

"Make me get dressed."

"After me. 'Cause I'm always first."

She left the room smiling.

Knowing that I could make her smile, I smiled.

While quickly throwing on my clothes on from yesterday, I saw a book on the bedside table. It was black and looked fairly old. I opened it to a random page.

Dear diary,

I slammed the book closed. I really wanted to read it, I wanted Alexia's past to be revealed to me now but I'd rather her tell me in person. My mum taught me better than to snoop around people's stuff. I placed the book back on the table and pulled out my phone.

Alexia's POV

"There are extra toothbrushes in the cabinet under the sink." I appeared at the doorway, leaning against the frame.

Harry's head shot up to look at me. "What took you so long?"

"What do you mean?"

"You took-" Harry glanced at his phone. "-More then 10 minutes."

"That's called long? Pfft, I wonder what you call short."

"I can never understand females."

"Well that ain't our problem."

Harry stood up.

"The bathroom's down the hall." I pointed at the door.

I sat down on the bed after he went to brush his teeth. He left his phone here. I wasn't going to try to open it, I'll never guess the password and it's rude to invade someone's privacy. I played on my own phone for a while. I got a text.

Unknown: Hey Lex ;)

Me: Who are you?

Unknown: Don't remember? Evan! How could you forget me? ;)

Me: How did you find me?

I had changed phones overtime. Not because of him, just because I dropped my old one in the bathtub when I was taking a bath. I'm so stupid.

Cheating asshole: I make friends, Alexia. And one of them is a hacker ;)

Me: Stop putting those winking faces at the end of your texts

Cheating asshole: I only do those for you Lex! You should feel honoured. But I'll stop. Like I said, only for you :)

Me: Why are you even trying to contact me?

Cheating asshole: I want another chance

Me: You expect me to give one to you?

Cheating asshole: Please, Lex

Me: Don't call me that. It's Alexia to you

Cheating asshole: Please

Me: You didn't even have a good explanation. All you said was "Sorry, I won't do it again. You'll forgive me though, right?". That's ALL you said. I bet you didn't even mean that you were sorry.

Cheating asshole: I still don't have a good explanation to this day, but please Alexia. I'm begging, just one more chance

Me: I'm with someone else

Cheating asshole: He'll break your heart. He's never going to have time for you. He's going to find someone else out there. That's what famous people do. But I'll make time for you. I'll never cheat on you again

What were we going to do when Harry goes on tour? We're going to be apart for so long... I'll ask him about it.

Me: Bye.

Cheating asshole: I'll just get my friend to hack into your account and unblock me, you know.

Me: I'll call the police and get both you and your stupid ass friend in jail if you do that.

I blocked his number.

"Your face is slightly red." Harry's voice spoke.

"How long were you there?"

"I don't know, 3-4 minutes?"

"What's going to happen to us when you go on tour?" I blurted out. I wasn't one to 'beat around the bush', I liked to get straight to the point.

Harry sat down next to me. I rested my head on his shoulder while he thought about my question.

"Hmm, would you like to go on tour with me?"

"Aren't those people going on tour with you? MUNA and Kacey something?"

"We'll have separate dressing rooms. I'll feel lonely if you don't come."

"Do I leave Meghan here?"

"If you want." Harry's eyes sparkled, and his small smile turned into a cheeky grin.

"Do you know something I don't?" I scrutinized his eyes and facial features. I studied a bit of human phycology in university, so I know when someone's lying to me. Unless they're a very good liar.

"Tell me." I demanded.

"Nope. She'll tell you herself." He referred to Meghan.

"Do you mind if I call her?"

"Go ahead."

I dialed her number. She picked up on the second ring.

"Hey Lex!" She greeted.

"What do you want to tell me?"

"Wow. No 'hello', 'hey', or anything?" Meghan laughed.

"What do you want to tell me?" I repeated.

"Okay, so you know how I told you about my new boyfriend, Jason?"

"Yeah, so he asked me to move in with him!"

"And you said yes?!"

"Of course!"

"Is he safe?"

I wasn't going to be one of those friends who are too overprotective and not let their friends live their own lives, but I was worried about Meghan's safety.

"Just be careful, okay?"

"When am I not?" She snorted.

"Must I remind you of the time you jumped in front of a car to save an empty soda can that someone littered?"

"I was drunk."

"No you weren't."

"Whatever. I'll be careful, I promise."

"Good. I wanted to tell you something too."

"I'm going on tour with Harry."

"OHMIGOSH! WE NEED TO GO SHOPPING AND GET YOU NEW CLOTHES!" She screamed. I winced. I hope she was in private, or I'd feel sorry for the people around her.

"I don't need new clothes."

"Ugh I wish I had time to spend a whole day with you. I'm sorry."

"It's alright, I don't think I have the time either with work and everything." I laughed.

"I got to go, bye Alexia!"

She hung up.

"When are we leaving?"

"Well, I was thinking we could spend the last week in California-"

Harry laughed. "Wherever you want."

"Wait, so when are we leaving?"

Today was the day we were leaving. I had packed a lot of clothes and somehow fit everything into my suitcase. There were also an extra pair of shoes (Chelsea boots, just in case I wanted to pretend to act like Harry). I wore my converse. Harry met me at the apartment.

"Hey." He looked at my suitcase.

Harry knelt down and opened the suitcase.

"Why'd you open it? It took me forever to close it." I groaned.

"This much stuff?"

"Um, I don't know if you noticed but we're not going to be home for a long time."

"No, no, no. We're going to buy stuff for you in California and when you run out, we'll go to a nearby mall - wherever we are - and buy more."

"What?! I'll just wear these-"

"Please Lex, just let me get stuff for you so I can feel better."

"But that'll cost so much. I don't want you wasting money on me."

"I won't be wasting it. Please?"

"For me?"

I left the apartment with barely anything (excluding the clothes I'm wearing now and my wallet) except underwear, my phone and it's charger, earphones, my MacBook Air, iPod, toothbrush and toothpaste, and sunglasses all in a backpack. Not even bras! The backpack was in the back of the car along with Harry's duffel bag.

"I can't believe you actually got me to leave with this little." I grunted.

"You'd do anything for me." Harry joked.

I was afraid that what he said might actually be true. Maybe I actually would do anything for him. Am I supposed to be scared?

"Perhaps." I shrugged.

"How old are you?"

"I never told you?" I was surprised. I must mixed up that dream I had with reality.

"One year younger then you."

"So 22."

"Yeah." I confirmed.

"Is this car rented?" My fingers tapped against the window of the car in time to the song that was playing on the radio.

"Smart girl."

The rest of the ride went on in silence. I didn't mind though, I needed some time to collect my thoughts. So Harry asked me - me, the normal girl that works at Starbucks (oh yeah, and I had to call Rachel to tell her that I wasn't going to work for a LONG time) - to hang out with him after meeting me at Starbucks. After less then a week, we started dating. That was really short compared to my only other (ex) boyfriend, Evan. I knew him for more than a year before finally getting the courage to say yes to the dating requests I got constantly from him. Sure, I've gotten other boys wanting to date me but I never said yes. I was too afraid that it would end the same way it did with Evan. Harry though... Harry was different. I don't know why, it's just a feeling. Anyways, he asked me to go basically everywhere with him and I said yes. Of course, I don't regret it. It's like the start of a new adventure. I love adventures. I was excited to see how this would end up.

"We're here." Harry announced like those hosts on talk shows.

"I haven't been to an airport in years." The memories of all the times my parents took me on vacation came back to me. A small smile crossed my features.

Harry dropped me off at the entrance, then went to the building in front of the airport to return the car. I remembered I didn't take my suitcase out, but he left before I could say it.

I went on Instagram. I had gained so many followers. I use to only have 193. Now I have 6k and I'm more people are following me by the second. How did they even find my account? I mentally face-palmed myself. Harry followed me on Instagram and Twitter, so his fans must have found it that way. I also had 367 messages. There were so many notifications that I had to turn off notifications for my social media accounts.

"You didn't go inside?" Harry stood in front of me with both suitcases.

I tried to take mine but he held it back.

"Gimme my suitcase." I tried again to grab it.

"I want to hold it."

"You really are too good for this world."

Harry's cheeks turned pink. I kissed him. I pulled away before it got too heated, we had a plane to catch.

"How can I repay you?" I asked.

"For what?"

"For the plane tickets and everything."

"Being with me is more than enough."

"But I want to repay you."

"You are."

I sighed. "I'd feel too guilty if I don't."

"Don't feel guilty." Harry slung my grey, white, and black backpack over his shoulder, hung his duffel bag from his other shoulder, and held out his hand. I placed mine is his. Our fingers fit together like puzzle pieces that were meant to connect. His large, soft hand hugged my soft, delicate one (does that make sense? I don't know).

"Are you sure I shouldn't take my own bag? That looks heavy." I frowned. I didn't like people spoiling me.

"There's barely anything in it, Lex."

"That's your fault."

He led me into the large building. Going through security was pretty hard. We had to get through all the fans and paparazzi. Harry tightly held my hand the whole time and made sure I was safe. I was touched. Afterward the security, when we were waiting to board the plane, it was way more peaceful. While we were waiting, a fan came up to Harry.

"Can I take a photo with you?" She asked shyly.

"Of course." Harry stood up and walked next to her.

"Do you want me to take it?" I offered.

"Sure." She handed me her phone.

They posed. I snapped the picture and gave the phone back to the girl.

"Thank you!" The girl hurried away.

"I love to go on public planes. You get to see the a part of the world beneath you and you're surrounded by people who could be on a plane for the first time. Private planes make me feel lonely." Harry told me.

"I love planes too! Twins!" I raised my palm, waiting for a high five. It never came.

Harry raised an eyebrow and shook his head. "Childish."

"So you're just gonna leave me hanging? Come on dude! Give me some love!" I tried to sound like I was an awkward teenager trying to be cool.

"You're crazy." Harry's palm slapped mine gently.

"Do it harder." I ordered.

"Because I said so."

"What if I hurt you?"

"You won't! Do your hardest."

"Are you sure?"

"Are you sure?"

"Just do it! Please."

The sound the high five made was loud. Loud enough to make everyone around us give us annoyed looks.

"Sorry!" Harry apologized.

"Owwww." I shook my hand. It hurt a lot, but I've had worse so the pain quickly went away.

"I'm so sorry, are you okay?" Harry took my red hand and examined it.

"I'm fine. You worry too much."

"Are you sure? Do you need an ice pack?"

"Yes, I'm fine."

I pressed my lips onto his to shut him up. His lips were soft, and I couldn't get enough.

"Get a room!" A person yelled at us. That made several heads turn towards us, but it wasn't like we really cared.

"You know, it's funny because I've said that to someone else a year or so back." Harry whispered once we stopped.

"I'd like to say it to people, but I've never really gotten the chance."

Harry and I were sitting beside each other in first class. I've only been in first class once before with my parents when we went to Brazil for vacation. I was only 4 years old, and I remember I caused a lot of noise. That was the first time I've ever been on a plane. I was curious about everything.

I hope my mom was okay, I need to remember to call her. That also reminded me that I still needed to call Rachel.

I turned to Harry. "Did you know that peanut butter can be turned into diamonds?"

"Really? Wow."

"This place is so cool!" I looked around again in amazement.

"Yeah, it is."

Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is your pilot speaking. We are taking off now. Please buckle your seatbelts.

I strapped myself into the seat and looked out the window (I had the window seat). The plane started to move faster and faster, and it was just then did I remember that I had a fear of heights. I think it started when I started university. I was on the school roof with my friend, and when I looked down, I was paralyzed. It took my friend half an hour getting me to return to my normal self and get down from the ladder.

I cowered into my seat and wrapped my arms around my legs. Harry took my hand in his own and rubbed his thumb over the back of my hand. All of the sudden, heights didn't seem so bad.

"You okay?" He asked. A worried look was present on his face.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just scared of heights." I tried laughing, but failed.

Harry reached over the armrests and gave me a tight hug.

A ding sounded, signalling that we were now in the air and could take off our seatbelts. I unbuckled mine. Harry did the same. With Harry still holding my hand, I peeked out the window. All I could see were clouds.

"Beautiful." I whispered. I've forgotten everything about being in a plane and looking out the window to see the fluffy, white clouds. The last time I did that was almost a decade ago.

"You're more beautiful."

I looked back at him and blushed. "Thank you."

I was terrible when it came to responding to compliments.

"Your hand is so small." Harry observed.

"You just realized?" I rolled my eyes.

Our attached hands rested on the armrest. Harry had stopped stroking the back of my hand by now.

A flight attendant approached us.

"Hi! What would you like for lunch? Here are the menus." She handed us each a menu.

I quickly choose something. "Um, can I get a chicken caesar salad?"

I gave the menu back to her.

Harry did the same. "I'll have what she's having."

"Would you like any drinks to go with it?" The woman tilted her head to the side.

"Do you want something?" I asked Harry.

"Just water will do."

"Okay. And you?" The flight attendant asked me.

"Same as him." I nodded my head at Harry.

"Lovely. I'll be right out with your food." She left.

A curl was hanging down on Harry's forehead, and I reached up to help him pull it back. Doing that, I ran my hands through his hair. I was memorized by how soft his hair was, and didn't realize what I was doing until I stopped. Harry stared at me with an expression unknown to me.

"I'm sorry." I apologized and put my hand back on my lap.

"Do it again." He breathed.

I silently reached up and slowly ran my hands through his curls again. Harry's eyelids fluttered closed and he took a deep breath.

"I love it when you do that." His eyes opened.

"Isn't it the same as when anyone does it?"

"There's just something about your touch."

My cheeks were about to catch on fire from how hot they were. Like I said, I suck when it came to receiving compliments.

Harry caressed my cheek with his hand, and his lips brushed against the same cheek when he went to whisper in my ear. "I also love it when you blush, I love it even more when it's because of me."

I couldn't move. I tried speaking, but no sounds emitted from my lips.

"Alexia?" Harry's cheeky grin returned one again when he gently poked my arm.

Harry kissed me, and my body finally relaxed.

"Here are your salads and water." The same flight attendant from before placed the food on the tables.

"Thank you." Harry and I said simultaneously.

"No problem. Just call me over if you need anything else! By the way, you two make a good couple." She winked and walked away.

With the fork that came along with the salad, I stabbed the lettuce. I brought my fork up to Harry's mouth and stuffed it in. There was a LOT of salad on that fork, so Harry looked like chipmunk when he tried to chew. The skin around his mouth was covered in salad dressing.

"You look good." I giggled.

Harry held up a finger. Finally, he swallowed.

"That's not fair." He crossed his arms and jokingly glared at me.

"You can do it to me too."

Harry collected some lettuce on his fork and held it in front of my face. I opened my mouth and ate the lettuce.

"Yummy." I patted my stomach.

Harry chuckled.

The rest of lunch went by with us feeding each other.

I yawned.

"Come." Harry lifted the armrests up and opened his arms. I climbed on his lap and laid my head on his shoulder.

My eyes closed, unable to stay open any longer.

"You're amazing, Harry." I mumbled before darkness consumed me.

I woke up sitting on Harry's lap, my face buried in his neck. He was asleep.

I checked my phone. 3:49 pm. We boarded the plane around 11:30. Harry stirred.

"Hi." I kissed his cheek.

"Hey Lex," Harry gently lifted me off of him and onto his seat. "I'm going to the bathroom."

"Can I come with you?" I joked.

He looked back at me, clearly shocked.

"Such a dirty mouth." Harry poked my nose. He walked away in the direction of the bathroom. I followed him.

He didn't notice until he was about to enter the bathroom.

"Can I come in? Please?" I added the last part with my best puppy face. I didn't know what I was doing right now, my wild side was taking over. My other side, the sensible side, on the other hand was screaming at me to stop and return to our seats. But you got to let loose once in a while.

Harry exhaled a long breath. "You're going to be the death of me, woman."

"Quack." I made a reference to his song, 'Woman'.

"I hate you."

"You could never."
