29. chapter 29

Nah'cier's POV:

*Saturday, March 7th, 2015*

Tonight's the night.

The squad and I, including Nicky and Oscar, arrived at Cristiano's parents' backup house for dinner.

I'm a little weary about this.

What if David, Cristiano, and James are being nice as an act?

In a way, this therapy program is too good to be true. I wonder if anyone else thinks that too.

When we walked up the spiral stairs to the house, Eduardo knocked on the door. The doors open and there's James.

"Hey, I'm glad you all came. Come in, come in." He said.

We smiled and walked inside.

Hm, this looks pretty fancy for a backup house.

There's state of the art furniture, nice paintings, photos of Cristiano holding trophies, and so much more.

"Hey everyone, you can take your seats at the table," David said, coming down the stairs.

Everyone went to the dining room and took their seats.

"Isn't this house nice?" Nicky asked.

A lot of us agreed.

"I just hope things don't get awkward tonight. Everyone, please stay on your best behavior. That means no shady looks, petty comments, you name it." Tyra announced.

"Don't worry, we won't. It'll be all positive things." I said.

That's when Cristiano came out of the kitchen.

"Good evening, I'm glad you guys could make it. The maids informed me that dinner is ready. They'll be bringing it out shortly." He confirms.

Everyone smiled. Let's see how this dinner pans out.

Eduardo's POV:

I'm sitting next to Lorena at the dinner table. I look really good tonight. I'm glad she picked out my suit.

Real talk though, this table seating looks weird.

I mean, Melanie is sitting in between Cristiano and Luke.

Calum is sitting next to James, who is next to Oscar. Next to Oscar is Tyra then David.

Then, I realized something.

"U-Uh, can I be excused from the table? I have to speak to Nah'cier, Donivan, and Jose privately. Trust me, it'll be quick." I announced.

A lot of people went silent and looked at me.

"It's okay. Take your time." Cristiano assured.

I smiled and nodded. I left the dining room and walked into the living room. Nah'cier, Donivan, and Jose followed.

"Hey Eddy, are you okay?" Donivan asked.

"Not really. Do you think that the seating at the dinner table looks weird?" I asked.

"No, why?" Jose asked.

"Take a look at where Melanie, Calum, and Tyra are sitting at" I replied.

Jose, Nah'cier, and Donivan turned around for a moment.

"That's strange. Melanie is sitting in between Luke and Cristiano. Calum is sitting next to James, who's next to Oscar. Next to Oscar is Tyra then David." Jose stated.

"Ah Eddy, I see your point," Donivan said.

I nodded.

"They probably planned this way before we came here, or maybe even a couple of days before," Nah'cier said.

"That could be true! I wanted to sit next to Lorena, so there was an empty seat in between her and Melanie. I was about to sit there but Cristiano said, "I was going to sit there." shit, I wanted to snap but I kept my chill so Lorena and I went to different seats." I explained.

"Same with me. I wanted to sit next to Oscar but James said, "I called dibs on this seat already, sorry." I rolled my eyes. He only said that because I saw the seat first." Donivan said.

"Guys, do you think that Cristiano, James, and David really completed that program?" Jose asked.

"Now don't come crazy, Jose. I think they made these seating arrangements just because they're a little jealous of Tyra and Melanie moving on. Trust me, I thought that too on the way here but it all makes sense now." Nah'cier answered.

"I think so too Nah'cier." I agreed.

"Well, I think they didn't complete the program. It's too suspicious for me." Donivan said.

"I agree with Eddy and Nah'cier. It's just a little jealousy. They'll get over it." Jose assured.

"Let's get back to the table. Cristiano is giving us a weird look." Nah'cier said.

"Okay then let's go," I replied.

We came back to the dining room and sat down in our seats.

"Everything alright?" Lorena asked.

I nodded.

The maids arrived and served us a plate of pasta with a garlic bread roll on the side.

"This looks so good," I spoke.

Some of us laughed.

"Well, you can eat it, you know," James replied.

I gave him a dirty look. No shit Sherlock, I know I can eat this.

What should I do with it? Make it into a soccer ball and dribble it?

"Oh, I know," I said and picked up my fork.

I wanted to say more than that but I can't. I have to be nice to them since they're out of jail now.

Everyone started eating.

"So, how are you guys?" Cristiano asked.

"Good. School's frantic as usual and the home life is pretty much normal." Melanie replied.

"Oh, and our parents come home on Monday," Anai answered.

"Aw, that's nice. You must be glad about that." David said.

"Yeah, we needed them during the bad times. A lot of us were hurt physically and mentally." I said.

Donivan choked on his drink. Cristiano, David, and James look uncomfortable. Tyra gave me a slight glare.

"Eduardo," Lorena whispered and kicked my leg.

"Tyra said not to say anything petty. Don't ever do that again."

"Alright, alright," I replied.

I gave Tyra an apologetic look. She sighed and nodded.

Donivan's POV:

*Thirty Minutes Later*

Everyone finished their dinner. The maids took our plates and went back into the kitchen.

"So, how was the therapy program?" Tyra asked.

"It was great. They knew what was wrong with us and helped us, step by step." James replied.

"I really want to play football again. James and I should've played with Real Madrid today. They versed Atletic Bilbao in La Liga but we loss 1-0." Cristiano said then sighed.

"Now, Barca may go back to first if they win their game against Rayo tomorrow," James added.

"Ha, they're mad that Barca is going to win the treble this season. Mad, or nah?" I mumbled under my breath.

"Bro," Nah'cier whispered to me, smirking.

I managed to get out a couple of laughs.

"While the maids are preparing for dessert, do you guys want a tour of the house? There's a lot I want to show." Cristiano said.

"That sounds nice. We'll go." Melanie said.

Some of us strangely looked at her but we agreed.

"Alright let's go then," Cristiano replied and smiled.

We left the table and followed Cristiano into this spacious part of the house until we reached a wall.

"This whole wall are events during my Man United days. I'm sure Nicky and Tyra remember some of these." He said.

"I remember when you were the star of the team. Everyone loved you." Nicky spoke.

Everyone started laughing.

I'm probably the only one that noticed, but when Nicky said that, he added a bit of pettiness to it.

I don't even blame him for it.

During his Manchester United days, he didn't get enough credit for the things he did on the pitch.

Nicky's a striker, but he wanted to play in midfield due to Ryan Giggs' injury.

He did that because he didn't want Sir Alex to splash some cash on a new midfielder that'll be a waste when Giggs heals.

Yes, he was playing out of position, but he was pretty awesome at as United jumped to the title.

Unfortunately, the media kept their attention at Cristiano.

Everyone began to look at the wall.

"Here is my celebration after Manchester United won the 2008 Champions League final, aka Nicky and I's very first CL trophy," Cristiano said, pointing to the picture.

"That night in Moscow. I remembered it like it was yesterday." Nicky said and smiled.

"Wasn't that crazy match?" Eduardo asked.

"Of course it was, especially against a really talented Chelsea team," Nicky replied.

We walked little more until saw a picture of Nicky and Cristiano, shaking hands. Both of them aren't in their Man United jerseys.

"Hey Cristiano, when was this taken?" I asked.

"Oh, that was a friendly match a few years ago. I think this was during your first season at Chelsea, right Nicky?" Cristiano asked.

"Yeah. That was a tough game. Chelsea won 3-2." Nicky replied.

We moved to another wall, which was his Real Madrid moments.

"Ah, I remember this day. That's the day when we won Copa del Rey." Cristiano said.

"I remember attending that game with you," Melanie mentioned.

Cristiano smiled and gave Melanie a quick wink. Melanie looked down and blushed. Luke gave Cristiano a shady glare.

Melanie's POV:

*An Hour Later*

After Cristiano showed us his walls, he then showed us his first Ballon d'Or.

He was so happy that day. The rest of his Ballon d'Or's are in glass cases.

"I just got a text from one of our maids; They've finished making our dessert. We can go back to the dining room now." Cristiano said.

Everyone cheered and went back to the dining room. We sat down in our seats.

The maids came around and served us chocolate mousse cake. Oh my god, it looks so delicious.

Everyone started eating.

"Next week, Champions League football is back! A lot of people will be paying attention to Chelsea vs. PSG but we all know that Barca vs. Man City is the main attraction. Man City needs to suffer." Eduardo explained.

"I hope they do. I can't stand Manchester City." Nicky said, taking a bite of the cake.

"No one can! Like, not only Manchester United players and fans, but everyone worldwide." Cristiano said.

"Yep, but we would always beat them. Do any of you guys remember when I scored that winner against Man City on their home ground and I celebrated right in front of the city fans?" Nicky asked.

Everybody started laughing, nodding their heads.

I guess having dinner at Cristiano's wasn't that bad of an idea.

*Twenty Minutes Later*

Everyone finished their dessert. The maids collected the plates and went inside the kitchen.

"Anyone wants to go on the rooftop? I heard the stars are beautiful tonight." Cristiano said.

Everyone nodded.

"Follow me." He said.

We got up from our seats and followed Cris. We went up the nice steps and arrived at the rooftop.

He was right, the stars are beautiful. We walked around the rooftop, looking at the stars.

"I'll be back Melanie, I'm going to the restroom," Luke said.

I nodded. He smiled and left. I turned back around and continued to look at the lovely stars.

"So, how you've been Melanie?" Cristiano asked, approaching me.

"Oh, I've been doing well," I responded, turning around.

"Eduardo told me you've won Student Council Vice President for the fourth time. Congrats." He said.

I smiled.

"Thanks. Surprisingly, Tyra and I won by a lot of votes this year."

"That's good." He said.

Soon, it was silent for a few minutes. Well, I am standing in front of my ex-boyfriend.

What should I even say?

"Melanie, I'm really sorry about what had happened in the past. The way I treated you, how sad you were, I regret everything. Aside from you know, when we...." Cristiano trailed.

"Yeah, I know, and it's okay. We forgive and forget right?" I asked.

Cristiano smiled. I smiled back.

I remembered how I use to admire his smile.

As long as he was happy, I was happy.

"How's the relationship with Luke? Some people said he writes good music with his band." He said.

"The relationship is great," I replied.

We started talking some more until I saw Luke walking towards us.

"Do you still have my number? If so, then we'll keep in touch, yeah?" He asked.

"I still got it," I replied.

Cristiano smiled and walked away.

I know that Luke may be jealous, but he needs to understand the fact that Cristiano changed.

Tyra's POV:

I'm sitting down, looking at the stars. I looked over at Oscar, who's talking to James.

I smiled. I'm glad Oscar is cool with James and David.

"Hey Tyra." I heard someone say.

I looked up to see David.

"Hey, Geezer," I responded and smiled.

He laughed and sat next to me.

"The sky is beautiful tonight like Cristiano said it would be," David mentioned.

I nodded in agreement.

"That dress looks beautiful on you." He said.

I smiled and look down a bit. I was blushing and I didn't want David to see it.

"You're blushing." He remarked and laughed.

I laughed a little as well.

"Well thank you. You look nice." I said.

He smiled.

"It was Cristiano's idea for this dinner. He was nervous that everyone wouldn't like him still. I was nervous about you coming over and James was too. But I'm glad you're still the same Tyra." David explained.

"And I'm glad you're still the same David. I was surprised when Nicky told me you've completed the program. I'm proud of you." I beamed.

"Thanks. It was worth it." He said.

"How's the relationship with Oscar?" He added.

"It's great. He's such a gentleman." I responded.

"Yeah, when Oscar and I were talking, he could not stop talking about you. He's really whipped." David said.

"Really?" I asked.

It was silent for a few minutes. I don't know what else to say to David.

I mean, I have a lot, but it wouldn't come out.

"Tyra, I'm really sorry about the past. Every day, I have thoughts about it. I always try to ignore it but it just comes back to me, eating me alive. With the program, it made me and James and Cris come to terms with it." David explained.

"It's okay. I sometimes have thoughts about it as well." I said.

"Do you still want to be friends?" He asked.

I smiled.

"I would love to."

*An Hour Later - Midnight*

Everyone walked back inside.

It's time to go since Nicky, Cristiano, James, Oscar, and David have games tomorrow and next week.

"Well, I'll see you at the Bridge next week. Please don't get stressed out about versing us." I said.

"I won't, promise," David said then smiled.

I smiled back. David and I hugged.

Nicky, Oscar, Eduardo, Nah'cier and I went inside Nicky's car. Nicky turned on his car and left Cristiano's driveway.
