17. chapter 17 (part two)

Lilliana's POV:

We entered Mrs.Morris' classroom, with Melanie still trying to get out of Luke and Nah'cier's grasp.

"Melanie, calm down. You already got Carolina, she'll know not to mess with you." I assured.

"I can't!" She yelled.

Mrs.Morris was looking at us like we were crazy. Wow, what a great first impression.

She got up and closed the door.

I can't believe Dakota and Carolina said those things to Tyra and Melanie. It's the first day of our senior year and it's ruined thanks to them.

"Okay, I don't what's going on but please calm down and take a seat!" Mrs.Morris yelled.

Everyone got silent and looked at her, then began to look for a seat. I sat at a table in the middle row with Anai and Araceli.

"My name is Mrs.Morris and I'll be your English 4 teacher for the school year. Now, let me do attendance." She retorted.

She started taking attendance. Tyra's not here yet.

"Let's check up on Tyra," I told Anai and Araceli.

"We should," Anai replied.

Araceli mouthed to Melanie and Lorena about checking on Tyra. They nodded.

That's when Nah'cier raised his hand.

"Um Mrs.Morris, what time does the period end?" He asked.

"How dare you interrupt me while I do attendance. That was a poor choice you made, young man. College professors will not accept such behavior like that!" She yelled.

From there, Mrs.Morris began a lecture about college.

While she was talking, Melanie, Lorena, Araceli, Anai, and I quietly left the classroom to check on Tyra.

We walked into the girls' bathroom, and found Tyra in the last stall, crying.

All of us rushed to her and pulled her in for a group hug.

"Hey, it's okay, it's okay," Melanie assures, patting her back.

"Why would Dakota say those things about me?" She asked.

"Tyra, you should know by now that Dakota's a bitch. Same with Carolina. Once they know a secret about you, they expose you and ruin you big time." Lorena replied.

We nodded in agreement.

"Now everyone knows about James and I. What a great way to kick off senior year," Tyra stated.

"Don't worry Tyra, the difference between you and Dakota is that you're smart and she's dumber than Karen from Mean Girls. "Araceli joked.

Tyra started laughing.

"Hey, you're laughing," Melanie mentioned and smiled.

I smiled as well.

"Let's get back to Mrs.Morris' before she gives us another unnecessary lecture," Anai announced.

We sighed and left the bathroom. As we were walking, we saw Dakota and Carolina.

"Thanks a lot, Melanie. Because of you, I have a cut on my nose. Ugh, I look so ugly." Carolina said.

I noticed the band-aid on her nose.

"I don't know how a cut on your nose makes you look ugly. I mean, you were always ugly way before it." Melanie replied and kindly smiled.

Dakota and Carolina gasped. We smirked at them and walked into the classroom.

"Girls, sit down," Mrs.Morris commanded.

We rolled our eyes and sat down in our seats.

Mrs.Morris continued doing attendance.

"Okay guys, I'm done with attendance. Now, for the rest of the period, you will write. You can write about anything. From a memory when you little to a fictional story, I just want to see correct grammar, spelling, and most importantly punctuation." Mrs.Morris explained, passing out a piece of paper to everyone.

"If you want another piece of paper, they'll be at this table here." She added and placed the papers on the table.

Everyone began to write their name and date on the paper.

"Now start!" She shouted.

Everyone flinched, then glared at her. The bell ranged.

We rushed out the classroom, so we wouldn't hear Mrs.Morris.

Ashton's POV:

We walked into the gymnasium and sat on the bleachers.

"Hello class, my name is Ms.Knight and I'll be your gym teacher for the school year. Since you guys all opted out of health, we will have gym all four marking periods. Now, you guys should know my routine. As I take attendance, I'll give you your locker number and combination and you'll practice them. Then, you guys can play basketball or talk to your friends." She explained.

After she took attendance, we practice our locker combinations and came back to the gym.

We sat on the bleachers and began to talk to one another. I'm sitting with Michael and Luke.

"I feel sorry for Tyra and Melanie," I mentioned.

"Dakota and Carolina both went too far," Luke said.

"Now, we know what our year will be like with them," Michael said.

We agreed.

"Like, why would they say things like that?" I asked.

"Dakota and Carolina are jealous that they aren't like us. Basically, me, you guys, and the rest of the squad are the Gucci of LHS, and Dakota and Carolina are knockoff versions of us." Donivan explained.

Everyone started laughing.

"Well, that answers my question," I said and continued laughing.

"You guys are so rude." Carolina scoffed.

"So are you and Dakota! Both of you take shit too far and don't even feel an ounce of guilt. Miss me with that." Nah'cier responds.

"You're just—"

"And don't even say that I'm jealous of you guys, because I am blessed to have friends who don't use secrets to hurt people, but instead give me the same loyalty and respect and vice versa." Nah'cier snapped.

Everyone else silently agreed. The bell rang and we left the gymnasium.

Sadly, we have to go back to English class.

It's a graduation requirement to have English for two periods in the U.K.

God, this will be a long, painful year with Mrs.Morris.

Tyra's POV:

Everyone entered Mrs.Morris' classroom and took their seats.

Last period was a bit crazy for me, but I'm glad that Nah'cier said what everyone else was thinking.

"Continue with your writing. I've set the timer for thirty-five minutes so pick up the pace." Mrs.Morris said.

I took out my pen and continued my writing.

So far, it's written in detail. I sighed. 2014 is the worst year ever.

For starters, David kidnapped me and I ended up breaking up with him.

Then, I thought James was the one but then he lied to me.

Now, I have Dakota and Carolina to worry about because they're going to torture me as much as they can.

"Why me? Just why?" I thought.

*30 Minutes Later*

"Okay class, I have your papers. Now, I'll pick some out and read it out loud. If it's yours, no need to feel embarrassed. People are very unique, so don't judge." Mrs.Morris said.

The first one she picked was Melanie's, which was about her first kiss with Luke. It was really good and had a lot of details.

"Awwwww." The class said and laughed.

"Yeah, yeah whatever," Melanie replied and laughed as well.

The next one she picked was Eduardo's, which was about the time when he received ISS for using the intercom in the main office without permission in sophomore year.

"Oh man, that was the funniest day ever!" Nah'cier exclaimed.

"My favorite part was when Eduardo said his speech about Messi being God's greatest gift to the world," Donivan said.

"Unfortunately, Mrs.Duncan caught me. She was furious." Eduardo said.

"Oh my god, you guys are such misbehaved students," Mrs.Morris spoke.

"I mean, you shouldn't be surprised," Lorena said.

Everyone agreed.

"Anyways, I'll read one more paper. This one is from Tyra." She said.

My smile faded. Let's hope everyone likes this.

Mrs.Morris began to read.

"Life can have its bad moments. Some last for a day, while others last for weeks. Mine began in late May, and it's still going on today.

How did it all start, you may ask?

Well, I broke up my boyfriend of two years. Two years of my life wasted. He wanted me all to himself.

"There's no need for your family and friends when you got your boyfriend." He said.

I thought about these words until one day, I met a Colombian guy on Tinder.

Weird right?

It was worth it (during that time) because my love for him was growing rapidly, like a forest fire. One hot night in Rio, things changed. A boy kissed me. I never considered him more as a friend. I pushed him then yelled at him.

After that, I turned around to see the Columbian guy, and he was devastated. He left without me saying a word. I told him that he got it all wrong. But then, he said something that completely shattered my heart.

He belonged to a married girl, and he had a daughter.

I was raging mad.

How could he do this to me?

I was madly in love with him. I wanted to find happiness, after my last relationship with my selfish ex-boyfriend. I was lied to, betrayed. I asked him why he never told me this.

He said that he "Really loved the conversation we were having."

What kind of excuse is that?

All I could do was cry on my best friend's shoulder. From there, I felt like nothing. I had to act like I was fine when I wasn't.

It felt like I had to wear a mask every day, so I can hide what I'm really feeling. I was actually dumb enough to think that we could be something.

Then, a guy changed me. He made me feel like I was worth it. We always had long talks on FaceTime. He helped me through a lot, and right now, he still is. He was different.

He wasn't selfish or a liar. He's just a sweetheart. I feel like we're made for each other. He's something special. He's the one.

He will always have a place in my heart." Mrs.Morris read.

The class was quiet until I heard scattered clapping, which soon turned into a huge applause.

"Tyra, that was beautiful. I really loved the details. Is this based on true events?" Mrs.Morris asked.

"Sadly, yes," I answered, as the sadness grew on me.

Everyone slowly got silent.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Do you want to see your guidance counselor about this?" She asked.

"No," I replied and sighed.

The bell rang and everyone began to pack their things.

I gathered my books and went to my locker. I put in my bag notebooks and folders for homework.

When I closed my locker, I turned around to face Eduardo.

"Hey Tyra, are you going to be alright?" He asked.

"I don't know, what do you think?" I responded.

With that, I turned around and left the school.

I went inside my car. I slammed the door and looked in the mirror. I started crying. I tried to stop but more tears came down my face.

I wiped my face and pressed the button. My car turned on and I drove out of the school.

I arrived home and parked my car in the garage.

"How was school?" Nicky asked me as I entered the kitchen.

"Good." I replied, lying.
