12. chapter 12

Eduardo's POV:

*Fast Forward to Saturday, July 12th, 2014*

The squad and I are at the Estadio Nacional Brasilia, sitting behind the Brazil bench.

Today's the Brazil and Netherlands game. One of these two teams has to win in order to steal third place.

Neymar is here too, but he's not playing because he's still injured. He's sitting on the bench with his teammates.

I can't stop thinking about that night when Nicky hit James.

Thankfully, this whole situation didn't end up on social media or on the local news.

Tyra and James should be glad that Nicky didn't see what happened in Tyra's hotel room.

Here's a flashback because, why not?

*Flashback to July 8th, 2014 - 11:30 PM*

After the fight, the squad and I followed Tyra and James. We stopped at her hotel room.

"James, let me see your eye," Tyra said.

James nodded and slowly removed his hand away from his face.

There's a small cut on his face but it's still bleeding, and his eye is a bit swelled up.

Everyone slightly gasped or had their eyes widened.

"Is it bad?" He asked.

"It's just a small cut but you might have to get stitches. I'll try to clean it up." Tyra replied and put James' hand back on his eye.

She turned around to face us.

"Everything's going to be fine. I'll keep you guys posted." She added and took James inside her hotel room.

Tyra closed the door.

"We should get some rest. It's getting late, and I don't feel like dealing with more drama." Donivan said.

"I'm with you, Donny. Good night guys." Michael said and walked into his hotel room.

Everyone else did the same, except for Araceli, Nah'cier, Lorena, and I.

"We all want to see if things will heat up between Tyra and James, so we might as well huddle at the door," Lorena spoke.

We all agreed and quietly walked to Tyra's door and huddled around it.

"I feel so bad for eavesdropping, but I really want to know what's going on," Araceli whispered.

"James is so stupid. Why would he confess to Nicky about him and Tyra seeing each other?" I whispered.

"Maybe because he didn't want Nicky to find out on his own, so he had to tell him before it's too late," Lorena replied.

"That's reasonable," Nah'cier said.

"And Araceli, don't feel bad about eavesdropping. We're getting all the juicy details." I whispered.

"What's so juicy about details?" She asked.

Everyone tried not to laugh.

"Shhhh! James is about to say something." Nah'cier informed.

"Ow... Ow!" James exclaimed.

"Be still, I'm almost done," Tyra replied.

I looked through the peephole to see Tyra putting a bandage under James' eye.

"Thanks for doing this for me. You're really good at cleaning up cuts. How'd you know how to do that?" James asked.

"I want to major in sports medicine to be a sports medic, so I've been studying for a while," Tyra responded.

"That's nice." He comments.

"If anyone asks what happened to my eye, do you want me to lie?" He asked.

Tyra nodded.

"Just say that you and a friend were just playing around and he hit you by accident."

He nodded. It was silent after that. That's when James leaned towards Tyra.

"NO TYRA NO!" I whispered loudly.

"Eduardo shut up," Nah'cier whispered.

Tyra lightly pushed him.

"Stop right there."

"I know but—"

"No," Tyra said. "You lied to me. I helped you because you needed it. You can go now."

"Whew! That was a close one." Lorena whispered.

"Right on Tyra," Araceli whispered.

"Thanks again for cleaning me up," James said, getting up.

"No problem," Tyra replied.

James walked away from Tyra and began to approach the door.

"Shit, let's go to my hotel room," I whispered.

We ran to my hotel room. I closed the door shut.

I peeked through my peephole and saw James going inside the elevator.

He pressed a button and the elevator doors closed.

*End of Flashback*

I'm glad that Tyra didn't kiss him. James is so stupid.

What was he even thinking?

Just because he's the James Rodriguez, doesn't mean a girl would be all over you after you break her heart.

I look at the tunnel as the players came out.

Everyone instantly started booing at the Netherlands, especially at Arjen Robben.

The players lined up on the opposite sides of the refs. The Brazilian national anthem played and then the Dutch national anthem.

After they shook hands, they got into their positions on the field.

The ref blows the whistle to begin the game.

Arjen Robben passed the ball to Robin Van Persie. He already rips through Brazil's midfield and defense.

He was in the penalty area when David Luiz slide tackled him, not making contact with the ball.

The ref blows his whistle and gives the Netherlands a penalty.

The squad and I groaned.

"Great way to start the game," Nah'cier said with sarcasm.

David should be lucky that he didn't get carded for that. Robin grabs the ball and puts it on the penalty spot.

He backs up and stares at the goalkeeper.

The ref blows his whistle. Robins runs up and shoots the ball in the back of the net.

The Netherlands fans celebrated like crazy as Van Persie slid down with his fists in the air.

His teammates followed and hugged him.

Everyone sighed.

I know it's the fourth minuet but Brazil need to come back to this game.

Lorena's POV:

*Fast Forward to the Second Half*

Brazil is losing 2-0 after a Daley Blind goal.

It has gotten worse for Brazil since then. I've never seen them play this badly in my life.

"Why is Brazil playing like shit?" Michael asked.

"It's obvious. Their 7-1 loss to Germany affected them big time. Nicky isn't scoring because he's thinking about killing James, no offense Tyra." Donivan explained.

"It's okay. You're probably right anyway. He's literally picking fights with the Netherlands players. That's not like him at all." Tyra said.

Everyone agreed.

"Tyra, did James go to the doctor to get stitches?" Melanie asked.

Tyra nodded.

"He flew back to Monaco this morning to get it taken care of by his team doctor."

"Look, Brazil's attacking!" Eduardo exclaimed.

We looked ahead at the pitch. Oscar has the ball.

He passes it to Nicky. Nicky skillfully went pass Daley Blind as if he was a cone and got inside the box.

He made the cross and Oscar heads the ball but it's blocked by Jasper Cillessen.

We sighed.

"At least they're trying," I said.

After I said that, Brazil starts to attack more.

Nicky's creating more chances than any other player on the pitch, Oscar's getting some shots on goal, and David's defending much better.

Sadly, in the ninetieth minute, Georginio Wijnaldum scored, making the scoreline change to 3-0.

After stoppage time was over, the whistle blew one last time.

The Netherlands won third place, while Brazil falls to fourth.

"I knew that this game would be hard and that Brazil would struggle, but this is sad," Liliana said.

"I know. They've performed much better in the second half. It reminded me of how good they were in the group stages." Luke said.

Everyone agreed.

*After The Game*

Tyra, Araceli, and I are walking to the Brazil locker rooms, to cheer up Nicky and his teammates.

They didn't stay on the pitch for long after they shook hands with the Netherlands players, so Tyra wanted to check up on them and invited Araceli and me to come.

"Are you sure they'll allow us here?" I asked Tyra.

"Of course. The Brazil players and Scolari knows me. Also, Nicky makes sure that his teammates are fully clothed before I walk in." She replied.

We started laughing and continued walking.

When we made a turn, Tyra and Oscar walk into each other.

"Sorry." He spoke.

"It's okay. You did great out there by the way." Tyra remarked.

"Thanks. We were trying our best but the thoughts of our humiliating loss to Germany is still in our minds." He said.

"Well, at least the Manuel Neuer didn't go to the final with a clean sheet." Tyra joked.

She and Oscar laughed.

"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" I whispered to Araceli.

"Mhm. They like each other, 100%." She replied.

Tyra and Oscar talked for a bit and said bye to each other.

Tyra, Araceli, and I resumed walking to the locker room.

"Tyraaaaaaaa." I teased.

"Don't start Lorena," Tyra said and laughed.

The three of us started laughing.

"But Tyra, he really, really likes you," Araceli said.

"I can tell, but I'm going to be out of the dating scene for a little while, due to everything that's going on." She explained.

I nodded.

She needs a break from dating, especially after she and James were millimeters close to kissing.

I'm really happy that Tyra did the right thing and stopped him. If they kissed, I would've gone mad.

We arrived at the Brazil locker rooms and spoke to Nicky and his teammates. They seem to be fine, but you can tell that they're sad.

After we finished talking to them, Tyra, Araceli, and I caught up with the squad and left the stadium.
