11. chapter 11

Anai's POV:

*Fast-Forward to Tuesday, July 8th, 2014*

The squad and I are at the Estadio Mineirao to watch Brazil take on Germany in the semifinals of the World Cup.

A lot has happened so far this month.

Brazil won 2-0 against Colombia in the quarterfinals, but Neymar is out of the World Cup because he injured his vertebrae. The pressure is on Nicky now to take his position.

Not only that, but Thiago Silva can't play today because he received a yellow card in the last match, and that's his second yellow in the competition.

He's sitting with the squad and me behind the Brazil bench, which leaves David Luiz as Brazil's captain for today's game.

"God, I hope we win tonight. Germany's a talented side." Thiago said.

"Don't worry Thiago, I'm sure that with David's leadership and Nicky's talent, Brazil can go through. It's not going to be an easy match, so they have to work hard." Eduardo explained.

Everyone nodded in agreement. The whistle blew and the game starts.

Nicky passes the ball to Willian, who passes the ball to Oscar.

Oscar shows off his fabulous skills and passes it back to Willian.

"Oscar is a really talented player. He's doing good so far." I told Eduardo.

"I agree. I remember when Chelsea versed Juven— Oh my god he's about to score!" Eduardo yelled.

The Brazilian fans cheered as Oscar took the shot, hoping he'll score the first goal.

Manuel Neuer caught the ball. The German fans cheered as he kicks the ball to a German player.

A few minutes later, Thomas Müller scores. He celebrates with his teammates.

Most of us sighed. Well, it's only 1-0.

Brazil has the rest of the first half and an entire second half to tie the game.

*In The Middle of the Second Half*

Ugh, I spoke too soon!

Germany's winning 5-0. The five goals were all scored in the first half.

This isn't the Brazil that I have seen throughout my time in Rio.

They need to do something.

"Oh my god, how is it 5-0 already?" Liliana asked.

"Everyone in the Brazil team is playing terribly, especially Nicky. I am sorry Tyra but my god he's getting outclassed." Jose said.

"It's okay Jose, I feel the same way too," Tyra replied.

"The defense is wobbly and we haven't had any chances on goal. Damn, maybe Brazil needed you and Neymar badly." Melanie told Thiago.

"Guys, we must remain positive." The Brazilian center back replied.

I looked at the Jumbotron to see that Andre Schürrle scored.

"How? Brazil's trailing 6-0." Michael stated.

"This is outrageous," Luke said and sighed.

"Adding to what Melanie said, Scolari's tactics are outplayed. You see, Brazil always play free-flowing attacking football. Nicky, Oscar, and Willian excel in that because they play how they want, wherever they want. Now that Germany is aware of that, the three of them have to attack and defend." Eduardo explained.

We sighed.

Around the 79th minute, Schürrle scored again, changing the scoreline to 7-0.

During stoppage time, Oscar scored a goal, assisted by Nicky.

He didn't celebrate. He grabbed the ball and took it to the starting line.

After Germany kicked off the ball, the whistle blew.

The German fans cheered as their players rushed to each other and hugged.

"That's it! Germany batters Brazil 7-1 as they're going to the World Cup final, while Brazil goes home. Wait, Brazil is already at home." A commentator joked.

"Such a corny joke," Araceli commented and rolled her eyes.

I agreed with her. I turned around to see Thiago crying on Tyra's shoulder.

Tyra just sits there, unamused and sad.

All around me, I could see and hear the sadness and cries from the Brazilian fans.

"Guys, let's congratulate the team. They tried." Tyra suggested, wiping the incoming tears away.

She got up from her seat. Everyone followed her on the pitch. The first person I hugged was Marcelo.

His eyes are red and puffy from crying.

"Hey, it's okay," I said.

"It's not, it's not." He kept saying.

He sighed and lets go of the hug. He then walks up one of his teammates to console them.

I looked at Nicky, who's crying on Eduardo's shoulder.

I turned around and saw Tyra hugging Oscar.

Then I saw David crying with one of Brazil's team doctors. This night didn't turn out as we thought it would.

Lorena's POV:

After we talked to the Brazil and Germany players, the squad and I left the stadium.

We're eating dinner in silence. As we're eating, we heard the ESPN sound coming from someone's phone.

"Oh, it's my phone," Tyra spoke, breaking the silence.

She picked up her phone and looked at the screen for a minute.

"It's just a reminder that Argentina and the Netherlands play tomorrow. I might sound crazy, but, I hope Argentina wins." She said.

"Same! They've been doing pretty well so far. I mostly can't wait for Lionel Messi to play. I love his skills, nutmegs, and most importantly, his goals. They always leave me in a shocker." Eduardo explained.

"I hope Argentina lose. The Netherlands is so much better. Sorry not sorry Eduardo, but Argentina sucks." Calum snapped.

"Calum, shut up." Donivan groaned.

Everyone agreed with Donivan as Calum rolled his eyes.

"Argentina should win. If you say they suck then you're deluded. Look at how great they're playing. Also, why cheer for the Netherlands? Technically, Mexico should be in the semis in the first place. Anyways, if Argentina wins, all the hard work they did would at least pay off. Lionel Messi worked his ass off to reach the semis and provided the magic for his teammates. Do you actually think that he'll let his country down? No! These are the reasons why he's the best player in the world." Eduardo explained.

Everyone nodded in agreement. Calum rolled his eyes. He knows that Eduardo's right, he's just too stubborn to admit it.

After we finished eating, we paid the bill and left the restaurant. We arrived at the hotel and went inside the elevator.

We then got off the elevator and arrived on our floor.

"How about us girls hang out in my room? I think we all need some comfort." Liliana suggested.

We smiled and followed her to her hotel room. Tyra turned on the TV. The Fresh Prince of Bell-Air came on so we decided to watch it.

Melanie took out some drinks and junk food. We began to eat and watch TV when Donivan walks in.

"Girls night! Yass, what's the gossip? Give me the tea!" Donivan exclaimed, sitting on the bed.

"Donivan, get out!" Anai yelled and threw a pillow at him.

We all started laughing.

"Fine then. The guys and I are going to turn up in our hotel room. Call us if you need us." Donivan responds and left.

"God, he's so random," Anai said as she closed the door.

"Well, that's your boyfriend," Melanie stated.

"Tyra, do you know how Nicky's holding up?" I asked.

"He's still upset. Brazil needs to beat the losers in the Argentina and Netherlands game in order to earn the third place." She replied.

"Well, good luck to him and the team," Lorena said.

All of us agreed.

"I can't wait for the World Cup final. Either way, Germany will beat someone's ass and win it all." Liliana said.

Some of us laughed.

"I want Argentina to go to the final and win so the critics can shut up about Messi's La Liga sea—" Tyra began but she was interrupted by footsteps running down the hallway.

"VISCA EL BARÇA!" Someone screamed.

All of us looked at each other.

"Eduardo." We said in unison and laughed.

Jose's POV:

Donivan, Nah'cier, and I are hanging out in my hotel room while Ashton, Luke, and Michael are exploring the streets of Rio.

Eduardo walked inside and closed the door.

"Eddy, why'd you scream Visca el Barca in the hallway?" Nah'cier asked.

We started laughing.

"I don't know. I guess it's good luck to Messi and Mascherano." Eduardo replied and closed the door.

"Oh. Hey, have you guys seen Calum? I noticed that he wasn't with his bandmates." I said.

"Oh, I walked past his hotel room. I'm pretty sure he's crying for like the fifth time tonight." Eduardo responds and takes a sip of his Coke.

"He's still upset about Tyra rejecting the kiss? He needs to snap back into reality and realize that not everyone will fall in love with him just because he's good looking and a part of a band." Nah'cier explained.

"That's true. Do you guys think that he's the reason why James broke Tyra's heart?" Donivan asked and ate some Hershey Kisses.

"No. Calum was a little bit delusional. James is just an asshole." I replied.

"I agree. Like, why would you have a Tinder account, when you're already married and have a child? That doesn't make sense to me." Donivan said.

"Agreed. Now, James is trash, just like David and Thiago." I said.

"Ugh, don't me started with Thiago. He played with her emotions. How dare he treat Tyra like shit, when she gave him everything." Donivan said.

"I know, but, I'm glad Tyra came to her senses and ended the relationship," Eduardo added.

"Wait, don't you guys think that Tyra would go great with Oscar?" I asked

"Great? Nah'cier, they'll be perfect for each other. That boy had a crush on her for years, and he still does." Donivan replied.

"He always tries to impress Tyra. Every time we visit Chelsea at Cobham, Oscar attempts to win her over by showing off his skills. He ends up falling 95% of the time." Nah'cier joked.

We all laughed.

"We have to set Tyra up with Oscar. We should get the rest of the squad in this." Eduardo said.

"That's a great idea. Let's do it." I replied.

Nicky's POV:

*Later That Night*

My teammates and I are chilling in Oscar's hotel room.

We're still sad about our World Cup exit.

Coach Scolari wants us to move on and prepare for the third-place game at training tomorrow, but how?

We got thrashed 7-1 in the biggest stage of the competition.

When it comes to losing a game, I'm usually the one who forgive and forget, but this is a whole another situation.

I want Argentina to go to the final and win because Lionel Messi plays for them and he's the best. Also, they're the only South American team in this competition.

"Nicky." Dani Alves said.

"Yes, Dani?" I asked, and looked up from my phone.

"Someone wants to see you. It's important."

I got up and walked to the door. Maybe Tyra or someone from the squad is here to check up on me.

I opened the door and saw James. He looks scared.

"Why are you here? And why do you look scared?" I asked.

"I have something to tell you, but you'll be extremely pissed at me." He replied.

"Okay? What is it?" I asked.

I walked into the hallway and closed the door.

I swear, if this is about his World Cup exit, I don't want to hear it.

"Are you sure you want me to tell you?" James asked.

"James, I lost 7-1 against Germany and got kicked out of the World Cup. I'm not in the best mood so can you just spit it out?"

James sighed.

"I was seeing your sister Tyra on Tinder. I really love her, I do, but I couldn't go on with it because I'm married and I have a kid. I thought it would be best to tell you." He explained.

"What?" I asked.

"I know it sounds bad but—"

"But nothing! How dare you talk to my sister, knowing damn well that you're a husband and father?!" I snapped.

"Okay, now you really need to calm down," James said, taking a step towards me.

"Calm down? You're telling me to calm down, after what you just told me?!" I yelled.

"People are going to come of out their rooms because you're causing a scene. Look, I want to work thi—"

I didn't give James a chance to finish what he wanted to say.

I didn't because I punched him in the face.

David's POV:

I'm holding back Nicky. Tyra's helping James up. This is getting too crazy.

What lead Nicky to punch James?

Actually, what were James and Nicky talking about?

Why was James even here?

I'll find out later, but for now, here's a flashback.

"FUCK!" I heard someone scream.

My teammates and I ran out of the room.

We looked and saw James on the ground, holding his eye, while Nicky is raging mad.

I look to see Tyra and her squad running down the hall.

They must've heard it as well.

"What's going on?!" Tyra exclaimed.

"Go ahead, James! Tell everyone how you were seeing my sister behind your wife's back." Nicky said.

Everyone gasped, including me.

Wow, and I thought that I was the bad one.

"Nicky, I'm so sorry I—"

"Tyra, how long were you two seeing each other?" Nicky asked.

"For a few weeks." She quietly replied.

"Did he ever, in those weeks you two were seeing each other, mentioned about being married and having a child?"

Tyra looked at James.

"No. He told me after your game against Croatia."

"You make me sick." Nicky spat.

*End of Flashback*

He was about to hit James but I held him back.

"Nicky now isn't the time to catch a case," I assured.

"David, let me go! He's a sicko! He kept this to himself the whole time!" He yelled.

"Look, I'm sorry!" James exclaimed.

"Don't blame all of it on James! I should've told you Nicky, and I'm sorry!" Tyra yelled.

Nicky was able to hit James again.

"Someone get James away from him! I can't hold him longer." I begged.

That's when Tyra took James back to her hotel room. The squad quickly followed.

When they were out of my sight, I let go of Nicky.

He didn't know what else to do so he went inside his hotel room and slammed the door shut.

Everyone stood there in silence.

"Come on guys, we have to get ready for training tomorrow. We should give Nicky some space." I suggested.

My teammates nodded and we went inside our hotel rooms.

I have no more characters in the multimedia, until later in the story! -Tyra❤️
