17. Chapter 16: Magic.

As Leleanda and Cornelius made it towards the village, she was in slight pain.
“Are you okay?” Cornelius held her arms to keep her up.
“Yeah, I'm fine” she smiled at him. They stepped into the village, everyone around them stopped, and stared, children stopped playing tag, dogs stopped running, and the adults paused what they were doing. The gave Leleanda a dirty look.
“Can you please help us?” Cornelius asked them. Their glares turned to him. Piercing his soul. “Please?” the world was still silent. A little girl came up to Leleanda, yanking gently on her dress.
“Excuse me?” her voice was quiet and high. Leleanda looked at her, and got down to her height.
“Yes?” the girl touched Leleanda's ears, feeling the point. “Your a Fae too?” she asked her. Leleanda's eye's widened.
“Too?” the little pulled her hair back from her face, and tucked it behind her pointed ears and smiled. Her gorgeous black hair and her brown eye's. Leleanda smiled.
“Gwenavere?! Come here!” a man, very masculine, bald, wearing a smiths apron. He was human. But he was slightly aged, probably around forty or fifty. The girl nod and ran back towards him. Leleanda had caught some of her features, skinny to her bones, pale as snow, and covered in bruises and cuts. She was obviously this man's slave. He hit her over the head and mumbled at her, she was in tears and walked back into the smith. A woman was giving that man a glare.
“How dare you treat like that in front of this woman?!” she started whispers and glares at him.
“Yeah! You've been treating that girl like a piece of shit since you got her!” another said. A man spoke up.
“Cut the man some slack, that brat and excuse of a child is just a waste of space!” Leleanda glared at this man.
“What did you just say about this girl?!” she deathed him. Cursing to herself. Hands clenched in fists as if they were holding blades. He snarled at her.
“You heard what I said you Fae bitch!” she growled. Eventually, blades made of ice, crawled from the palm of her hand.
