New World

A young lady decides she wants to make the world a better place. She knows what she wants and knows she can do this. It will be hard work but well worth it. It will help everyone as well as animals. No one will have to do without anything they need.

27. Fold Of Her Apron

The yellow palm of her hand came out from the fold of her apron.  She lowered her chin to her knees.  Along the ground under the piece of money with grace they would have lifting an egg from under a hen.  As her fingers slid along the ground.  As she stood up the nickel found it's way in her pocket.  Her lips moved as a bird flew by.  She said God watched her steal.

The dog and man came back and the man laughed and he said "I scared him off"!  He laughed again and lifted the gun and pointed the gun at her.  She looked at him and he asked her doesn't the gun scare you?  She told him "no",  that she had always been around guns.

He smiled,  and shouldered the gun.  As he said "well granny."  you must be mighty old.  I would bet my money that you would not take advice so nothing would happen to you.  She told him I will be on my way.  They walked away and she heard a shot just over the hill.

The shadows hung from the oak trees to the road like curtains.  As she walked on,  she smelled smoke,  and the river,  she saw a steeple,  and the cabins.  With dozens of children dancing around her.  Bells were ringing,  and she walked on.

It was Christmas and there were red and green lights crisscrossed everywhere,  all turned on in the day time.  She knew where she was going.  People were passing by as she stopped.  There was a lady with presents,  She gave perfume and roses and she stopped her.

She held up her foot and said will you lace up my shoe?  The lady told her to stand still as she put her packages down and laced her shoes.  She told her thank you.  She went into a building and on some steps as she moved along.  She kept on walking until she got to the door she wanted.
