There was no television in the cottage, not that they were bothered because they would only pick up French channels anyway.

The bedroom had one double bed a simple wardrobe and a chest of drawers at either side. There was wall lights at either side of the bed.

Harry left their fishing gear in the room provided for changing and cleaning boots etcetera.

It was now just after twelve o’clock so they headed to the bathroom which had a shower, a small sink and a toilet. It was basic accommodation but good enough for what they needed.

Harry thought that he’d be nervous the first time he slept with Susan but he wasn’t. Since that day in the tent he felt confident. He made love to Susan until the early hours of the morning. She was perfect in every way as she came to bed. She was patient and encouraged him. After the third time of making love that morning. Susan felt totally satiated. She lay in the arms of a man who was not only considerate but was gentle too. Harry made her feel something that she’d never felt before because she truly loved him and she knew he loved her.

The sound of crow’s chorus woke Susan up and she nudged Harry who opened his eyes and looked upon the naked body of Susan as she got up and went to the bathroom. After a quick wash they put on their fishing clothes and headed out to the place where Michelle Dubois had told them they would be serving breakfast. There was a wide selection on offer for breakfast and Susan made a mental note of the numbers of anglers that were present. She knew that some would already be out on the lakes. She checked the age groups as well as family members. Harry ate quickly and Susan picked up a few bagettetes with ham and cheese in case Harry got hungry because they would not be serving dinner until eight o’clock that evening. Susan wanted to see the hatchery at lunch time so they made off at twenty past six. Harry looked for a bend in the lake that would offer them a good chance of catching some fish. Harry pulled the buggy along until they found a good spot. They had shelter from the wind by some trees which would be perfect for setting up the bivouac.

Harry pre-baited the swim to get the fish feeding then both he and Susan set up the bite indicators and rod rests. The rods were quickly assembled and baited before they both casted out the first of their two rods. They were placed roughly where they had pre- baited the swim. Once all the rods were out they put up the bivvy and then erected the two seats and the new portable beds that they had both brought in case they wanted to do some night fishing. Susan had never fished at night before and was quite looking forward to trying it out. Harry said that he could bait up the swim then go for a meal then return later then cast out a bait.

“At least we are not far from the toilets if we need to go.’

“That’s a comforting thought said Susan.’ Mind you that is also something we can provide when we buy our own lake.’

They had a good spot with plenty of room to cast as there wasn’t anyone around that they could see. The lake was about three hundred yards wide in parts and about twenty feet deep in the middle. There were many birds including ducks and swans which swam around lazily they dived down occasionally as the sweet corn and other feed floated down into the shallower water.

They had been fishing almost three hours when Harry got his first bite. The buzz of his bite indicator went off and he went to the edge of the lake and lifted the rod and then struck. The fish took line but it wasn’t at all like a carp. It felt like a solid thump Susan joined him with a large net. She watched as Harry wound down then gently lifted the rod drawing more line in he got within twenty
